Everyone get over to childbirth topic, there's been a live birth with pics ffs, it's bloody fantastic!

GruffaloSoldier · 19/11/2008 22:20

wow thanks sorky- that was amazing!

GruffaloSoldier · 19/11/2008 22:23

right im going to bed - g'night!

kayzisexpecting · 20/11/2008 07:42

Morning,

Argh MW this morning, she needs to take blood. I hate needles. I'm going to talk to her about feeling so down and fed up. Also about the brace I got on Monday as it makes me feel worse.

I was up nearly all night, couldn't get comfy, DS woke up at half 2 thinking it was time to play.

Hope you all had good nights sleep.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 20/11/2008 07:53

morning- i had a pretty good night last night (compared to the night before and DH's couching every 10mins!!)

I have a B&Q only round the corner so may spend much of my last few weeks wandering round!!

My dying fish is still alive!! I swear he's currently led on his side on the bottom of the tank, and everytime i get close to look if his gills are moving he jumps up and swims away- almost like he should say 'Surprise!!!!'....

Shouldn't really be on here... DS and DD are still in their PJ's and i have 40mins till i need to set off for the nursery run, and i'm also taking DD to a group called messy play, so when i leave i wont be back till lunchtime.

DS has his HIB jab this afternoon- i'm not looking forward to it at all!! Hoping DH can finish early too so i dont have to take DD with me and sit her in her buggy watching DS have a jab and crying (if he does!!)....

anyway i'm off for the morning. tata 4 now.

kayzisexpecting · 20/11/2008 07:58

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/11/2008 08:27

morning all.
Hurray for the first December baby kay
Hope u are feeling ok. Can imagine the last few weeks (and days!) are quite painful. Hang in there.
Hi glask good luck with the jab today
hi everyone else.

On a training course today so not online much

Cosmogirl · 20/11/2008 08:59

Morning,

Just a quickie - late for work!

One sleep till scan!!!!

Kayz - sorry that you are getting fed up. Not long to go now. I personally think 9 months is too long - 6 would be better

Gruff - kicks are fab aren't they? Love feeling the movements. DH has felt it a few times but when he sticks his hand on the baby usually lays still - typical!

How are the sicky peeps? I couldn't believe it yesterday morning, I vomited first thing - all biley and gross at 21 weeks! What on earth is that about? It is never gonna end. Well, it bloody better do when the baby is born because I am sick of eating sugar puffs and scrambled eggs as my evening meal....

Hope everyone else is ok and looking forward to the weekend.

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 20/11/2008 09:13

morning - kay good luck with needles having bloods is horrid
hope u stop feeling down soon it isnt nice
wow first baby on your dec thread

nat glad that you arent leaking

Diege · 20/11/2008 09:15

Morning! Wow so much to catch up on!
HEEBS - so sorry that the waiting continues . What a horrible thing to have to go through - it's not over yet as NAT says though; does seem odd that HCG is increasing if things are over. We are all here for you xxx
NAT, had visions of you for a minute holding up pad to B&Q staff to sniff, insisting that the vouchers were yours
KAY - hold on in there, really isn't that long to go now. Think it's a good idea to have a chat with midwife about how you're feeling though, you're really going through it
Exciting about tomorrow's scan COSMO . Boo to sick - maybe it's the last one?? . Am the same here with eggs - strangely one thing I can tolerate (though getting sick of them now too).
GLASK good luck with DS's HIB jab - I know, it's horrible but will soon be over. Wow at your fish! Long live the fish!
GRUFF spunds like movements to me, esp as they stopped when dh came in - so typical! It's the nicest part of pregnancy I think.
Right, best get something done! Feeling slightly better today after bad evening of sick. Have cancelled hair appointment so may spend what I've saved on some xmas bits for dds.
Speak later

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 20/11/2008 09:56

Morning all

My meeting today has been cancelled so at the moment I'm working from home! Quite useful as I have loads of emails and phone calls to catch up on.

Glaskham - hope DS gets on ok with HIB

Kay - yuck for blood tests but hopefully MW listens to you and reassures you.

Cosmo - yay for scan TOMORROW!!! V exciting!

Sorky - had a look at that childbirth thread - fab! And picture is beautiful!

Hi to everyone else!

kayzisexpecting · 20/11/2008 11:09

Hello!!!

Bloods wasn't too bad today. He is engaged!!! So she said anytime from now onwards!!! YAY!!!! SHe also said if she had £1 from everyone who said in the last 5 weeks of pregnancy they felt down and fed up she could retire to the bahamas so I don't feel so bad now.

Yay for scan Cosmo!!!

Hope everyone is ok.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 20/11/2008 11:15

Kay - really pleased your MW appointment went so well. Maybe we could all retire to the Bahamas??! Sounds like a good idea with the impending cold weather.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/11/2008 11:30

Morning

What did I tell you Kay? Told you the day I felt crappy he engaged! Glad you didn't find the needles too stressful.

Cosmo, not long for you to wait now Very exciting

Have just got back from the hospital, trace was fine, he's actually not stopped moving today which is obviously good, though feels quite strange now! I have to go back on Monday for another trace, I have to ring in the meantime if the movements slow/stop, or if I get any more leaks, and then the scan on Thursday. My BP is starting to creep back up, still absolutely no where near high, or even near how high it was earlier in the month, but it is on the rise so they are keeping a close eye on it. I am starting to wonder if somehow the fact that my BP was so low is why he wasn't moving as much? The first time I went in when he hadn't moved was the first time my BP had dropped through the floor, and now he hasn't stopped moving today and my BP is higher again.... coincidence? Maybe...

Right gonna read that birth thread while I have my brew and then do some lunch

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 20/11/2008 11:37

Hi NJ - yay for movements!! You know you could well be right about the lack of movements being linked to the low(er) BP. Your own theories are often right after all!!

kayzisexpecting · 20/11/2008 11:45

You should maybe be a MW Nat. So far practically everything you have said has been right.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/11/2008 12:00

LOL I'd love to be a MW, in principle, in reality, seeing what they do and what they put up with and how bloody hard they work, not sure I'd last the first day!

I have no idea really if the BP/movements thing could be linked, might start a thread!

Birth thread was great BTW - thanks Sorky

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/11/2008 12:08

Oooh forgot to say, MC order is here think that's got to be a MC record! Bag is lovely

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 20/11/2008 12:29

wow that was quick nat glad all well with bubs
i can tell that this one is still breech getting kicked in privates
my graco bag, changing table and sling are going to my mums

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 20/11/2008 12:35

Hiya Tink Saw the new thread for Due in Jan, great title!! I might pop my head in at some point today, I have been very bad at keeping up on there, feel like everyone on there now knows each other except little ol' me!

Hope your little princess changes position soon, can't say I enjoyed the kicks down there!

Diege · 20/11/2008 13:05

Wow that is quick delivery NAT (unlike your own ones, boo boom! ). Great news about movement etc - yes, I like your theory too!
Well, I have splurged and bought an IO dress (another one) as there was such a good discount (50% off) I coudn't resist. Just enough left in bank to buy the bits for dds I intended on getting this morning , then I am broke until payday! (Tues). One good thing about being house-ridden is that I am saving so much money anyway!

lastboxoftampons · 20/11/2008 13:26

congrats, Nat that's great news! I agree with you about being a midwife - the high points must be absolutely amazing but I don't think I could cope with the lows. What if something, god forbid, went wrong.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 14:29

Midwifery is fantastic, you would be great Nat.

I cant believe if your waters are even on a slow leak they are not monitoring you. You should be having your temperature taken as it is a route for infection. Are you keeping an eye on that yourself? I am gobsmaked tbh. How do you feel?

Diege heloooo, so glad you are having yuk symptoms they are very reasurring. Not what you want to hear i am sure!

Kay you do know that second babies can engage and come out the pelvis again? It is only first babies that settle in for the long haul. Keep in good postions and bounce on the birth ball if you have one, it wont be long now. Just think you WILL have a lo before Xmas. Ooohh i cant wait

Nat people have looked at me like i am crazy when i say i really dont know the difference between labour and BH. I have been caught out twice now I am planning a homebirth (despite the protests) as i just know i will not get to hospital in time.

kayzisexpecting · 20/11/2008 14:38

LG&T don't say that. He has to stay engaged or I'll cry!! She has written 4/5ths is that he is 4/5ths engaged or he is 1/5th engaged?

I'm having a real mental block day. I can't remember hardly anything.

Nat, honestly you'd be great. You wouldn't turn away women who were worried about things as you know yourself how annoying it is to be ignored.

largeginandtonic · 20/11/2008 14:43

4/5ths engaged, she can only feel 1/5th of his head. Give a little push
