It started off all wrong, went in for the sweep and to talk about induction (was term +8 yesterday). I express concerns about induction and question whether they can maybe do multiple sweeps instead. The registrar kindly draws me a graph (yes, a GRAPH) with "gestation" on one axis and "DEATH" on the other to illustrate placenta failure, something I have, of course, never even thought about .....I watched him write DEATH and said "hmmmm this looks promising!"

It gets better after that though as I started contractions after the sweep, at about 1am they were regular, got booked into delivery at 1:50 and Penelope Juno was born at 2:42am this morning. 7lb 3oz

She is very mucus-y as it was all so fast but am I glad it's over!

Congratulations Yorky & LLPJ!! LLPJ, how bloody awful of the registrar, but I am lol at your response! Penelope is a great name!

Ceebee, best og luck for you tomorrow hon, I can't wait to hear all about your little man!

good luck tomorrow ceebee i'll still be here waiting! Whilst i was at hospital being monitored my friend text me as her other friend (due same time as me) was going in to be induced. she text saying arrived for induction, was 6cms when she got there and hadnt noticed, broke waters and baby was born. i mean come on people, i just want some regular pains!! jeez!

Drswife I really do sympathise with you as I was exactly the same last time round!! It
will be your turn very very soon!! And don't worry about names - this baby's name is also very 'boring' as is DS's DH is very conventional so would never get away with anything else!!

im still around, contractions reduced to 2 or 3 every hour now, were every 6mins this morning. think baby has changed his mind!!

will get a date for induction or c-section tmw.

drswife i know how frustrating it is, i truely thought i had cracked it when the contractions started coming this morning at 4am......now im no further forward!

I have no pains whatsoever and im dreaming of having it tonight...every night i wake up needing a wee and i have to sit on the edge of the bed thinking, is this just a wee?? its always just a wee, or sicky heartburn!

i ordered a curry from a new takeaway and it was basically a stew..i will not have an irritated bowel now!! i asked dh for a DH sweep and he has man flu and says no he feels too ill. only 5 days overdue and ready to kill!!!!!

drswife i wish i was on my way! the MW basically said today she would be amazed if i went into labour naturally! hmph! what does she know!!! LOL!!

i too have had a curry tonight, not convinced my bowel has been irritated either!

Hello everyone! Just quickly checking in with you all - I've missed you all! Haven't had a chance to catch up properly on the thread, but I heard that sparkle had a BIG bouncing boy, LLPJ has had Penelope Juno (cool name!!) and Yorky has had a mega-quick home birth - good work!!

Cecily Plum is totally gorgeous. Will post pics on my profile now.
DH is smitten and is v.emotional. We are so, so happy. She is b-feeding well, and sleeping better already after 2 days. We are very proud parents! Will be posting my birth story at some point as it was fairly exciting and dramatic.
Good luck to all the Ladies in Waiting. chocgal - IGNORE your MW. Mine said the same thing to me. Then it all started naturally. Think positive! I think Lacks told me that 95% of babies come by 10 days overdue. I was 9 days over when I went into labour.

morning all. DH has man flu he is expecting me to fetch and carry when i cant get up without a winch! this is not the time man!!!
