Right - I knew it - its playing me for a fool!!! I have had a long walk, a trip to the shops... and bloody nothing !!!! A few tightenings but nothing major still!!!!

So to cheer myself up I have treated myself to a nice crusty bit of bread with some lovely cheese and a beautiful fresh cream slice, with strawberry jam!!! Yummy

reluctantincubator · 19/11/2008 13:49

did any of you other ladies have days of utterly overwhelming fatigue near the end of the pregnancy? (38+5) I have things to do today (nothing strenuous really) but I am struggling to move a muscle. I have managed to sleep in, have a bath and slump in a chair. The idea of getting up seems about as attainable as going mountaineering. Or am I being lazy and its just in my head? I was fine yesterday. Slept OK apart from a couple of pee breaks and waking up shivering (cold snap last night!)

chocolategal · 19/11/2008 14:34

hana dont panic, things have slowed to a halt here. went to hospital, they were going to do a sweep but head still high, back to back, big baby..blah blah blah!

got appt with consultant tmw, so induction or c-section looks likely.

from reading my notes my BP is up (significantly) and i have protein in my urine, none of which the MW told me!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 14:48

sounds like things might be happening for you twinkle!

chocolategal; nice of your MW to share!! Good luck with the consultant and I hope the blood pressure thing isn't serious.

good to hear from you dyerlou. We have had a few go overdue, but not many!!

reluctaintincubator, my fatigue level was very high towards the end, but did vary. If I overdid it one day (and by overdid it, I just mean had a pretty normal day without sleeping or resting up) then I was completely wiped out the next day. But, my iron levels were very low prior to delivery and rock bottom afterwords so that probably didn't help. Maybe worth getting checked out?

Good luck to you all; can't wait till everyone is together again in post-natal

reluctantincubator · 19/11/2008 15:31

Thanks Lacks - they did say my earlier iron levels were on the low side though haven't had them checked for a bit. Will take some supplements to be on safe side and attempt some low grade paperwork

Hope meeting with consultant goes well chocolate gal.

Hello again all, sorry things have slowed down for you Chocolategal, how frustrating!

Baby twinkle can wait till Daddy is back - we are currently at Brize Norton, going to Cosford next.

Just back from MW, asked her for a sweep as bored of niggles and she says I'm 5cm! and she's expecting to see me this evening! BF is here filling pool and dying to start live birth thread!

barbareebaa · 19/11/2008 17:13

omigod yorky Goood luck!!!
So excited for you! Where are you going to put your live birth thread? x

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 17:23

OMG Yorky..........5cms without even trying

BF filling the pool? where's DH? Is he away? will he miss it?

nomoremagnolia · 19/11/2008 17:26

Yorky's BF here - her DH is home, we have the pool up and filling and DS is playing on internet with me. Yorky is cooking DS's dinner with 3 min cx but she's still talking. MW says not to panic yet as she's still talking.

nomoremagnolia · 19/11/2008 17:27

chocolategal · 19/11/2008 17:31

YORKY's live birth thread

twinkle183 · 19/11/2008 17:51

Yorky fantastic - can believe that your 5 cms thats brill - mw tomorrow so hopefully she will have alook for me!! Would be nice if I had dilated some... dh flies from Brize Norton all the time - where abouts are you moving to??? Am not familiar with that place????

Still getting tightenings but no show or anything else - just sort of jelly every now and then!!! This is new territory for me as usually I get a show first but nothing yet

Dh left me a nice answer machine message saying that he was looking forward to coming home and to try and keep baby twinkle in until he gets here on Friday!!!

Pinkyminkee · 19/11/2008 18:21

here's hoping baby waits for daddy, twinkle! reluctantincubator- i sorted my iron/energy levels out by eating several avocadoes and satsumas in between meals, and some red mea dinners, along with two capfuls of floradix per day. worked a treat

yay yorky! must check out your thread

hope you have a nice 'last meal' planned for tonight, ceebee, and make sure you have a last snack before midnight!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 18:29

oh, yes, ceebee. Have a nice relaxing evening with a bit of pampering to get you nicely relaxed for tomorrow

Now who are you texting to say baby is here? Please don't tell me it's Yorky?

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 18:30

and twinkle......(sorry keep forgetting to mention you )

I hope baby waits for Daddy to get home on Friday, but the discharge sounds like things are loosening up down there already

Tinkerisdead · 19/11/2008 18:48

hello all, well last night i went for lovely three course meal. oh it was fab. there was a girl who can only be described as a "knobhead" at next table, telling the couple that she was with that people only have babies because a) their partner wants one. b)the think its the done thing nowadays or c) they are catholic and are forbidden contraception. Shoulda seen her face when i stood up to leave and my mahoosive bump was in her face!

today, i went to hospital for monitoring of blood pressure, baby movements etc. machine detected one tightening! one poxy tightening!
now i'm home and nothing more here to indictate a baby is coming. DH has been contacted offered two years work(which is crucial to him as housing developer but it means travelling to yorkshire three hours away) he looks so as i can see he's torn between keeping us afloat and being on hand for the birth.

off to read yorky's thread..

nomoremagnolia · 19/11/2008 19:24

yorky in 2nd stage - getting in pool now

nomoremagnolia · 19/11/2008 19:42

LackaDAISYcal · 19/11/2008 19:43

WOW Yorky; what a superstar

twinkle183 · 19/11/2008 19:51

Congrats Yorky hoping I am next but we will see, hoping baby will wait for daddy! Would be nice to go in to labour as soon as he walks through the door! hehehehehe

twinkle183 · 19/11/2008 19:57

Oh yeah good luck for tomorrow ceebee I am sure everything will go lovely for you!!!!

How many of us left now??
