Just seeing if we can get the ball rolling. I'm in N1 and am free most mornings till about 12, and most afternoons except Fridays from about 3.30, though these times can be shifted a bit.

Everyone else: times, places?

Have just called Nail Haven to find out about availability on the 14th. They only have one pedicure chair, and 5 manicure tables. Bookings aren't open for the 14th yet (she said to try again on Thursday).

Called New York Nails on Marylebone High Street (phone 0207 529 4798), and they can accommodate 5 pedicures in one sitting (£33). They are pretty open on the 14th, except from 12 - 1. How about if we agree a time, and then just call and book ourselves? Might want to agree the earliest time, then 5 can book, and the next 5 can book after that. There's loads of cafes around there, so could all meet up in one afterwards for coffee/lunch if we felt like it...

Kiwifruit you're a star

What do you reckon, feet then lunch or lunch then feet? I'm easy on times.

I'm easy on times too - brain is fuddled today and can't decide which would be best. Anyone out there who is particularly fussed about what time we meet and what order we do things in? Maybe those who already have children may have to juggle childcare/sleeps/other kiddi stuff that I have no idea about right now but will probably find out about in a hurry come September, so they might have more definite times in mind?

Think I need to go home, my brain is very fuzzy today!

Kiwifruit · 26/04/2005 21:21

Bump! Anyone got any preference for what time we should do this (see messsages below for new suggested location? If we can agree a time, we can start making bookings - my feet are crying out for some treatment!

Boompi · 27/04/2005 14:36

Im flexible on times too - this is no 1!

Kiwifruit · 27/04/2005 14:49

OK, how about if we meet for lunch at 12:30 and book for feet from 2pm? This means that anyone who doesn't want to get their feet seen to can head off after lunch.

Any takers?

Boompi · 27/04/2005 15:02

sounds good to me - will phone today!

Kiwifruit · 27/04/2005 15:11

Let me know when you've booked Boompi, and for what time, and I will call as well...

Boompi · 27/04/2005 15:22

Kiwifruit - just phoned that number 02075294798 and got nails inc - House of Fraser. Bit confused now?

Kiwifruit · 27/04/2005 15:32

Oops - gave you the wrong number. Here's the right one: 020 7224 5898 I have reserved 5 pedicures under 'Catherine' for 2pm on the 14th. One is for me, the others are for anyone else to book into. Once those have gone, I guess the next people book in the next time slot (they take 50 minutes).

Boompi · 27/04/2005 15:49

Thanks for doing this KF
Have left a msg on their machine.
Cant wait!

Boompi · 27/04/2005 17:14

Kiwifruit - just spoke with NYNC and they dont seem to understand that I want to reserve one of those 5 places! Tried to explain but she just got more confused so wouldnt take my name or cc details! Tried to book under Tara but couldnt!

Kiwifruit · 27/04/2005 17:33

Grrr, will call back - might be easier if I just book mine, then everyone else calls and books theirs... Sorry it's so difficult!! Will post again when I've spoken to them.

Kiwifruit · 27/04/2005 17:35

Called and left a message - hopefully they will call back. Will keep you posted!!

franch · 28/04/2005 13:25

Thanks for this KF! I'll claim a place too as soon as you let us know what to do

OK Ladies, hopefully I've got it sorted this time... If you call New York Nails on 0207 224 5898, and ask to make a booking on 14th May at 2pm - the booking is under Catherine, and the password is 'Mumsnet'. There's 5 bookings for 2pm, I have one, so 4 left. If you post on here to say that you've booked and how many are left, that will give the next person an indication of whether they will get the 2pm sitting, or whether they need to book for the next sitting (which I haven't booked, but they don't have any other bookings at this stage). Hope this makes sense, and that I finally managed to explain it properly to the woman in the shop!!

Boompi · 29/04/2005 12:26

Booked under Tara. Off on holiday now so away from email for a bit. Yay!

andif · 29/04/2005 14:12

I'm back now the computer is finally mended! Well done for getting our act together. I have booked a place - 2 left!!

franch · 29/04/2005 14:45

Wahay - well done KF I've booked my place - 1 left!

LadyLazarus · 30/04/2005 08:20

I've left them a message! Waiting for them to call me back later on (when they open!), and hopefully I'll be in

LadyLazarus · 30/04/2005 08:25

Just wondering where we might go for lunch? I know where Marylebone High St is, but don't know many places around there...

franch · 30/04/2005 11:20

Just did a quick search of the Time Out Eating and Drinking Guide. The following are all very close and all get Critics' Choice:
La Fromagerie - posh cafe
The Tapa Room @ The Providores - tapas bar
No. 6 - deli/cafe

Anyone familiar with any of these? If you want to read the reviews (with prices, opening hours etc.), just CAT me and I'll email you my password to the online Time Out Eating & Drinking Guide. Or I can paste the reviews here if you don't mind me taking up a big chunk of this thread

andif · 30/04/2005 16:44

All sound fine - fromagerie sounds like might be full of delicious cheese that we can't eat so could be depressing!!

LadyLazarus · 30/04/2005 17:17

OK I just rang the NYNC again, and I'm in for the pedicure!! that means that if anyone else wants to join in they need to start a new slot, right?

Ooh I'm excited, I've never had a pedicure before!

LadyLazarus · 30/04/2005 17:23

PS I agree a bit with the comment made about all the fab cheeses we can only look at!! The Tapa Room looks nice, good value for money, and lots of vegetarian options (as I'm a veggie!)...
