Morning all,
I'll log on again properly later was just checking for any overnight babies. i have the midwife coming at 11am. She's going to offer to attempt a sweep and i have bad period pains. part of me thinks go for it and part of me thinks im just too tired to risk it kicking off.
Slept really badly like Misdee had major backache, ive snored so badly with my mouth open that that thing in back of my throat(uvula?) is so swollen it goes down my throat when i swallow.Just so tired and fed up and deffo not got the energy for labour and delivery but then i think how i could attempt to get it out.

crici ive managed to avoid induction by monitoring my temp and heartrate for signs of infection. baby is moving fine. i do have the caullopylum(sp) but i havent dared..purely for the reasons above tho..just cant muster the energy to cook a meal let alone push a human being out of my fanjo..its gonna have to crawl out of its own accord!

Oblomov · 03/11/2008 09:55

Morning all,
I a just killing time before I have to go in whilst waiting for my dad to come for DS. We have had a fab morning DS had to be at hospital for a checkup at 10 and we have had a puncture in the car and can't get it fixed - Job for my Dad I think
DS is so excited he kept asking if we were going for the baby when we got to the hospital earlier .
Obs hope you feel better soon.
Hope Daisy is OK and doesn't need a transfusion.
Misdee sorry to hear you are so uncomfortable.
Hope everyone else is well hopefully we will have a few more babies soon - I'm so excited now. Autumlady might even be in the process of having her baby now
Anyway thanks for all the good wishes I am now going to tr and take my mind off being so hungry!
Take care all x

cricri · 03/11/2008 10:36

Obs Sorry to hear things are no better Let me know if there's anything I can do, you must be at your wits' end.
Sorry for everybody feeling fed up today and those of us who are overdue with no sign of anything happening anytime soon!
Sorry to hear the news about Daisy too - fingers crossed she avoids a transfusion.
The midwife came round to see me an hour ago and all the checks were fine. However, I have to go to the hospital for monitoring at 2pm this afternoon just so they can get a trace. More for their peace of mind than mine I think! I will be resisting any talk of induction and hoping this baby comes out of her own accord in the next couple of days. Still having backache and crampy AF-type pains so hopefully it's a sign that things will start moving soon. No further leakage of waters but midwife thinks that this is because baby's head is keeping it all in! She said I probably won't have a very long second stage because of how low the head is - really hope she's right! She also admired the birthing pool which DH blew up last night just in case
I'm Ladybuzz's text buddy and I think she said her c-section was scheduled for 2pm so I'll post as soon as I get back from the hospital. Or I may forward her text to one of the London ladies (Choc, Dozy?) just in case!

LolaBella · 03/11/2008 10:46

Missygoo i'm with you. My milk came in yesterday and i too feel like Pamela Anderson they are so heavy and throb when Oscar is due a feed.

Vbab i went into labour at 8.30pm on my due date so there is hope yet. I did't have a single twinge all day either. It came on so fast. Fingers crossd it won't be long now.

A huge congtats to Dozy - a have a little neice called Talullah - a lovely name

Come on all ladies in waiting

misdee · 03/11/2008 10:50

i have to hang on past wednesday evening. we are having a fioreworks party at in-laws house. and dh has hopefully got some loud ones this year to scare babydee out on bonfire night. its always good fun, so dont want to miss it really. we dont get a big local display here anymore, and cant face trekking to get to the one at stevenage fairlands valley.

Yorky · 03/11/2008 11:04

Pamela Anderson boobs sounds so glamorous, I remember walking around tesco praying for DS to wake as DH could tell which side he was due his next feed from
Good luck to all todays babies, and sympathy to all who the wish they were mummys today. It can't arrive till I've had my wax on Weds afternoon!
Hope someone can offer you some useful help with feeding Obs, must be sooo frustrating - have you tried nipple shields as SIL can only feed with them on.
Hope Lacka can sort her iron levels out, a transfusion sounds so drastic.
No sign of anything here but have told nursery who will be picking DS up if DH and I are busy, v. organised I thought!
Now I'm trying to put together grab bags for me, and baby, and DS so that everything is in one place for DH to find at the relevant time. Hoping not to need any of them.
What should I pack for DS? - there are lists for me and baby in mothercare book
I've bought choccie biccies for midwives, and hidden them from DH!

Flier · 03/11/2008 11:10

misdee - mehdismumyy is lookign for you, can you phone her? (she's just leaving the library now)

Flier · 03/11/2008 11:11

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 11:25

Hi all,

Me post coming up, sorry.

DH went back to work again today because no baby after weekend of false pre whatever labour. I managed to get some sleep last night after going to bed a 9pm but woke up with cramps and rocks solid bump at 6. Didn't tell DH about that but did have sex on the grounds of it might be the last time in a while for him poor thing and it might get things going here as well. Fell asleep again at 9 cramping horribly and got up again for a bath at 10. It's taken me an hour to have a a bath and get dressed and I am now trying to make breakfast as I have to keep my strength up as apparently I might have a baby one day.

I don't want to start having proper contractions again becasuse they don't DO anything (they are NOT BH contractions - I know what they're like) but I think that's what's happaning but there's no point getting excited about it as there is obviously no way that I am ever going to have this baby. It's not moving a whole lot either - it did kick about a bit when I was in the bath, though - and I am half thinking "don't they go quiet when they're due to be born?" and half wanting to call the midwife and ask her to come out and Doppler the bump to check all is okay with LO. Buit I have seen 2 midwives and spoken to the hosp twice since Thursday morning and they are getting impatient with me. I am typing this in floods of tears and at my wits end - I don't want to call DH at work as if when nothing happens and it fails to progress into true labout for the third time its going to be getting silly. I feel so alone right now and I am stuck in the house with lousy SPD.

Yesterday I asked DH to get me an advent calendar as I am due on 12th Nov and the latest they would induce me would be 26th, surely, so at least I have a piece of chocolate every day for next 23 days and I can count down in a fun way!

I am so pleased, genuinely, honestly, for everyone who has had their babies and got CSs booked but I am obviously v as well!

I am so sorry that this is such a me post but I don't know how I'm going to hack the next 3 and a bit weeks if this carries on happening.

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 11:29

misdee sorry you're feeling so frustrated and knackered. .
obs hugs to you too. You have an appt at Kings tomorrow don't you? In which case you should try and look after yourself today so you're feeling in a better frame of mind for then. And poor Lacks...hope the transfusion goes well and sorts out her iron deficiencies.
Sympathies to those with Pammie size boobs. Admittedly, i've always dreamt of having a decent chest - but that just sounds painful...
Dozy fingers crossed your milk comes in toute suite....your roast beef and champers lunch did sound lovely yesterday BTW - your DH is clearly a star. I will look forward to the day when I can join the thread for those who have their babies . I had a bit more "show" this morning- but no other signs at all.

Yorky · 03/11/2008 11:40

Saurus, you really are having a rough time, waiting is bad enough but when you keep getting false starts it must be a 100times more so. Don't apologise for complaining, thats what we're here for, and we all take turns very nicely!
And we don't tell you like everyone else does, that baby will come when its ready, because no-one wants to hear that!
Must get on with to do list otherwise DS will have spent a morning at nursery and I will have acheived nothing!

ChocOrange05 · 03/11/2008 11:53

Sending hugs to you Saurus - why don't you call your DH just to tell him whats happening but that you don't neccessarily want him to come home but he might make you feel better?

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 11:56

I've just caught up a bit on the last day and a half but I'm all stupid in the head and I just wanted to give everyone a big hug as it sounds like a lot of people are feeling totally shit!

Sorry for my last post being so negative, it's just hard at the moment. Thanks for pep-talk, Yorky (btw, every time I see your name I have to go and eat chocolate... which is a very very good thing, you star!).

On a more positive note, DH has nearly finished decorating the bedroom, with just finishing the wardrobes, putting the curtains up and moving the bed back in left to do. As I remember, he was sanding the floor in mid-September, so this is actually quite good progress. And I can hardly talk about getting things done quickly, can I?

I may run a book on who will be finished first, me or DH.

Btw, sorry about repeating myself re advent calendar, brain go bye-bye about two days ago.

Just starting a contraction so will be back in 12 hours..

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - rant time

FIL (who is a sweetie) has just called to see how I am, which was ok, but then added 2 relationship killing statements:

  1. "you're a couple of days late aren't you" (I KNOW!!!!!!)
  2. "so, when do you think its going to happen?"

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Rant over!

Tinkerisdead · 03/11/2008 12:53

rutho bless you, i know how frustrated i am, ive got two weeks to go and im so frustrated with the leaking waters and period pains and so it must be doubly hard for you with so much going on. Dont feel bad if you have to call anyone, hospital or DH. If they getting impatient then arseholes to them as its what they are paid for and deal with false alarms all the time! you know you can post on here anytime and we'll support you.

Ive just had an "attempted" sweep. Thats very weird having an internal on your own bed with DH's stinky PJ's by my head! cervix is soft but still high. she used EPO to help get me started. still have period pains and backache, baby is back to back but always has been! My blood pressure is now getting consistently high and i have some swelling so she's advised me that if i want a homebirth and avoid induction, i gotta do what i can! i think its time to hit the herbs! bit scared of them so please let their be people around here online today cos if they start me off like ive seen reports, im gonna shit me pants and need support!!!!

Yorky · 03/11/2008 13:05

DrsWife, no pressure - don't you just love midwives! Like the one who told my SIL that she couldn't stay in the natural birthing unit if the baby didn't come soon - what exactly was she supposed to do about it at that point? (4 nights of false labour before it happened, and than a retained placenta)
Sorry, don't read that bit anyone!

There is something in the homeopathy kit about turning a baby but DH has taken the book with him this week to do his homework so he knows what to shovel into me when the time arrives! How typical is that! I remember gelsemium and caulophyllum to warm up uterus, start contractions etc, plus arnica for healing after, but take during labour.

Looking forward to you and cricri doing live HB threads!

ChocOrange05 · 03/11/2008 13:07

DrsWife what herbs are you going to try?? I may join you!

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 13:07

Choc, KILLLLLLL!!!! On behalf of me also!

I wanna go to Holland and Barratt tonight so DH is going to pick me up after work, DW. Still getting contractions and my gut instinct is to curl up inthe dark under a blanket and just go all primal with it. I had what I thought was the leaking waters thing the other night and the on-call mw said it was discharge in large quantities. OMG, how GROSS is pregnancy. Gootta go, getting hit ny another one.

Tinkerisdead · 03/11/2008 13:12

right, i rang helios and they said take 200c once a day but other mumsnetters seem to be taking it more often and my midwife recommended 200c every 15 minutes. ive taken 1.
eek, im gonna alternate it with cimicifuga to see what happens. bit scared. have been taking kali carb for posterior baby, it bloody turns back everytime.

mind you after having the sweep (or attempt at it) i think sod it, lets get the baby out. ive got real period pains, baby is hiccuping and i feel a bit "drippy" down there and darent look!!! also feels like i need to go to the loo badly with the pains but i darent go...arghhh...feels like the world is gonna fall out if i risk the toilet.
