Any more news on pinkali and Esme? Do we know why she is in the baby unit??

As for hospitals, I am with Merry and couldn't imagine giving birth at home - those of you that do have my utmost respect!!

Many congrats Betti on birth of Nathan, he is same weight as my DS was! You did well to manage with TENS alone, I may try that now!!

Hi Sparkle, I'm still here and mostly compos mentis, going into hosp for GBS swab in an hour or so. The Scrabble site is crap, I agree - I keep losing. Good luck with the clock, it sound v effective.

I have now put all the clothes away in the new wardrobes and moved the moses basket and stand upstairs [pant pant pant]. All the clothes, that is, apart from the ones that smell of fags from when someone was smoking in the attic. He is now doing loads of washing and looking contrite. What a way to welcome your firstborn into the world - arguing and laundry.

Still got waters leaking and contractions, but doesn't seem as if progressing v quickly as can do all of the above.. Getting more painful, though, and not stopping with activity, so maybe I am just going to labour for a long, long time. Oh well, I have waited this long, another couple of days will be fine.

betti - 8lb 4oz, 2hr labour and only tens . Give Nathan a cuddle for me. WELL DONE and CONGRATS!

My DS was 9lb 4 and could not of imagined not having at some point in my 20+ hrs pain relief. But he did get stuck bless him.

Yes really praying the clock does the trick but not getting hopes up too much I think the explanation did go over his wee head a bit!! Never know tho he can be very clever when he wants to be that one!

Sparks good luck tonight with the clock. I wasn't sure if DS had understood the explanation last night but the fact he came in this morning saying 'Thomas awake now' makes me think he did - I think they can understand more than we think! I let DS 'put Thomas to bed' tonight by pressing the button but then he just kept pressing the button saying 'wake up now' Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

LOL Ceebs yes 2yos are a lot brighter than you may think aren't they! Hope yours also continues to geddit!!

Funnily enough my SIL is having same problems with her DS (18 mnth old)..

My DS has also been having intermittent doses of the runs and Chicken Pox is going around his nursery which I HOPE he doesn't get just now! Notice I have a lot of 'hopes' right now!

Sorry again scrabblers my pooter has given up the ghost completely with that site .. will keep trying.

Sparks really hope your DS doesn't have chicken pox - it is really not what you need now!!

Update from Pinkali

They are still in hospital, Esme is doing better, her jaundice is getting better and infection is being treated with antibiotics although she is not feeding properly yet. Pinkali was feeling down today (not surprised!) so her DH took her out for a very quick meal although she missed Esme. She is trying to keep positive and sends her congrats to Betti and hello to everyone else.

Yeah me too Ceebs but if he IS going to get it can it be now as I would hate it if he passed it on to his newborn sibling (or would they get my immunity to it as I have had it? Hmm not sure..)

LOL my stats prove that I don't thrash you all at scrabble, certainly not all of the time! I am much better than I once was but you all only have yourselves to blame for that! I watched, I learned!!

Bless Pinkali and good on her DH. Remember how it felt first time I left DS, felt like I'd lost a limb! May her recovery continue...
