dozymare - Childcare voucher and wage update ... well after the payroll guy was a complete nasty arse to me on the phone regarding the mistake in Sept wage and stressing me out regarding the Oct wage I think it has been sorted.

Well I have received my vouchers and they havent been deducted from my SMP this month so correct.

However regarding the incorrect deduction of £243 from my Sept SMP (before deductions) that I was also owed I dont know whether I have been paid it or not? Thing is on my wage slip it says under one heading "SMP" the same 90% wage value as for last month (both full months wages). So not sure if this month should be 2wks 90% and however many weeks at £117 (?) which may come to the same SMP value? No good at this maths stuff and want to send an email of thanks to the (arse) guy for sorting it and ask about the £243 but dont want to look silly if it turns out it has been paid this month under the SMP heading.

Sorry probably made no sense. Just dont know whether to send an email in query or let it lie.

Morning all, I?ve been up since 4:30, getting the best part of the day and all that!

Not really, I just woke up and couldn?t get back to sleep and DH was snuffling in an adorable way which was driving me a little nuts as I was so awake. He is very very sweet when he?s asleep ? I always wonder what he?s dreaming about?

Ceebs, that's ace news about your C-section! How exciting to know a date - I am v . Aw, all these babies, eh?

Vbab you manicurist is a tossjob - why did you even pay her? I can slice my own toes for free at home! Well, actually I can probably only reach halfway down my shins, but sheesh even so. Tell you what, we?ll go to Spa 1877 for a pedicure, you and me, when the babies are here. And a pint. All my stretch marks are round the sides and back, btw ? I?m going to upload my new bump photos onto my profile but don?t be jealous of my lovely non-marked bump as my hands are strategically placed to cover my stretch marks and (nice) tummy zits. Gross. Also, my belly button piercing was never 100% straight (I had a piercing the way you had a pedicure ? the piercing guy was a tosser) and now it has a stretch mark across the top bit as well, boo.

Monkey come and kick my arse at Scrabble, it?s a guaranteed pick me up as I can no longer reluably speel my won name?. Sorry you?re feeling grotty too ? I wonder if it?s a sign?

Yorky and Lacks, how the frel are you still driving? I had to stop the other week because pushing down on the pedals on my ?tank-- car hurts and I wasn?t concentrating at roundabouts? I am a danger to shipping and likely to resemble an exploding whale myself.

Okay, situation update! Last night after I signed off I managed to wake DH up and we went out to get a pizza, which was lovely. The ol? BH contractions carried on and then I got two half an hour apart which were really strong. At the moment I am spending most of my time with a totally rock-solid stomach at the top anyway (hence the lousy mood yesterday) but this was like severe period pains lower down. Also, I went a bit out of myself for about 5 minutes, like going into a trance or something (woo ? trippy! and legal!) and had to make funny noises into the sofa cushions while kneeling on the floor. This was not helped by Sky Cops or Police Cameras or whatever it was on the telly. When I came out of it a bit, to the sounds of sirens and people in Plymouth being arreted for Drugs and Verbals, DH and I discussed what to do next, and decided on balance that seeing as it was 10:30 we should just go to bed and either it would stop or it would carry on and in either case a nap would set us up nicely for either a normal day or labour/birth.

Guess which one happened. Bored now.

So I am here at the computer, BHing away, having been up writing my baby journal in longhand for the last 2 hours and watching the sun come up, listening to DH snore and the central heating come on? It?s actually very nice and peaceful. I?m going to put the coffee on for DH in a minute as he?s now making getting up snoring noises ? an expert CAN tell the difference.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 08:02

I was awake at that time as well rutho; but changing a soggy toddler and trying to get her, and me, back to sleep. DH left for work at 5:30 and made me a cuppa on his way out. I think I got another hours dozing after he left before DS got up at 6:45

It sounds like it's really stepping up a gear for you . Get yourself some clary sage or caulopyllum to kick start the whole process.

I tried the EPO last night.....nada. I swallowed two capsules and inserted another two.......hey ho; I was so hoping that it would kick things off so DH didn't ahve to go into the office.

Some judicious bouncing on the ball today methinks.

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 08:08

What do you do with the clary sage/caulopyllum, and what form do you get them in? I am v thick about herbs and just use them for cooking!

sparkletoes · 29/10/2008 08:18

Yay Ceebs that is great news, you will be relieved to know that part is all set! Am of you knowing baby's birthday in advance - how exciting!!

Vbab at your pedicure! Obv didn't know hat she was doing stupid woman! A blood bath is not what you went for FGS! I haven't had my nails done very often at salons but have had similar experience at least once. It is funny how they carry on regardless as if it was inevitable! I prefer to just do it myself now (obv when not PG!) as the one bandaged nail tends to spoil the affect I think...

Really lovely names for the twins Merry! Yorky I have started taking my car to National Tyres for servicing instead of VW garage for exactly same reason! They also thought I was made of money with their prices!

I definately think we have entered the grumpy stage of pregnancy.. and I was still waiting for the blooming phase!

LOL at 'getting up' snoring noises Ruthy! Is there no end to your talents! Am afraid such noises were the original reason for my investment in ear-plugs!!

sparkletoes · 29/10/2008 08:23

Ruthy

clary sage - essential oil, just mix with carrier oil like olive or sniff it I think! I bought some last time but didn't need it in end. I put lavender oil on my pillow and on DS pillow as it seems to help him sleep!!

caulopyllum - homeopathic remedy which you swallow just remember never to touch them as oils in your hands upset the composition or something..!!

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 08:26

Nah, it's well cute. Much, much better than the "I've had 5 pints, I've got a cold starting and you're just lucky I didn't get a kebab on the way home, woman" snore, which I have come to know and dread...

To be fair, though, he does a mean pedicure and many people have commented in surprise on how nice my toenails look considering I haven't been able to reach my feet for 3 months (I never was v bendy). And he has never even heard of a cuticle knife... Or topcoat, come to think of it...

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 08:26

morning sparkles.

Rutho, just be careful with caulophyllum; it can be pretty potent stuff

coolkat · 29/10/2008 08:29

Apologies ME post.

Thought had BH at 4am, continued. Did not believe it so sent DH to work, got more intense, phoned local MU for advice, turns out the glob last night was show. Now pains every 5 / 6 mins. Trying to be normal to get DD to school but bags in car and on the way to hospital. DH had to drive home again only 45 mins each way! He was on the fire engine at the time!

Rutho sorry yours stopped, my pains seem quite low down really.

My apologies as got to go but thought I would update.

will text missygoo when have something to report.
Coolkat X

mum2becks · 29/10/2008 08:29

Morning everyone!

You sound very upbeat saurus to say you have been awake so early!! I feel bad enough and I have only been up since 6am with DD (she used to sleep until at least 7am until we moved her to a bed now its anthing from 5am onwards )

Sorry about your pedicure vbab that they charged you at all after doing such as bad job!!

Great to hear that obs is now home and MM is coming home with her twins today!! Cant wait to see pics!!!

Sorry to hear some of you now cant drive, I can still manage it (just) and so pleased as I would go stir crazy in the house all day with DD I like to take her out to burn off some energy but park etc are all a bit too far to walk now!!!!!

Keep expecting to wake up to more baby news on here as sounds like a few of you are very close now even though its my due date on saturday I dont feel anything at the moment other than a heavier feeling like baby has dropped lower! Seeing MW again today so see what she has to say, hope she will agree to a sweep or something for next week as will be overdue by then!!!!

mum2becks · 29/10/2008 08:33

Oooh coolcat xpost, how exciting!!!!!

Our first labour, good luck and keep us posted

tegan · 29/10/2008 08:36

Hey all
Had mw appt yesterday and babe still isn't engaged even though he has been on the brim for nearly 3 months. I am now 36+3 and getting really fed up, i think it is worse because the kids are home and i can't really do alot with them.
I am sending everyone good vibes as we must all be feeling the same.

sparkletoes · 29/10/2008 08:37

Haey Daisy have you used caulopyllum? I haven't but have heard that it is pretty... effective!

Hi Sunshine185 welcome!

Wow Coolkat that was not a ME post that was a very interesting update! Good luck, we await your further updates... Hugs!

sparkletoes · 29/10/2008 08:39

Sorry Daisy have just noticed the bit in your previous post recommending the clary sage/caulopyllum. Didn't mean to take over sorry

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 08:40

OMG Coolkat - how exciting! DH is reading over my shoulder and says WOOT! Big nerd. Ooh, hope I'm next, although technically M2B I am supposed to wait for you as we are text buddies... I have had that "dropped again" feeling too so we may be neck and neck. I'd say Race Ya but I can't run.

Oh, I'm so excited, another baby on the way AND I just had half a pint of coffee!!! [very alert emoticon] AND I gt to leave the house to go shopping with my lovely step-mum in an hour or so!

EEEK!

Okay, no more coffee...

ceebee74 · 29/10/2008 08:43

Morning ladies

Coolkat am v excited for you - can't wait for an update. Hope it all happens quickly for you and everything is ok

Saurus sympathies about the sleeping (or not as the case may be!) - make sure you get a nap if you can today.

Hi to everyone else.

Well DS slept in a bed last night for the first time (without bars!) and guess what.........we didn't hear a peep out of him all night Am so chuffed - he went to bed without any problem, didn't try and get up and I had to wake him up at 6.45 this morning to get up for nursery. As DH keeps telling me 'don't get too excited - there is still plenty of time for it to go pear-shaped!!'

Gonna try and bake some flapjacks this morning - my mum is coming round this afternoon with my nephew and nieces - although as they are incredibly fussy eaters, I am not sure they will even entertain flapjack

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 08:45

Just caught up on that thread, Lacks, scary scary! I may go and get some RLT instead tho' but am worried I will just get evil BH for the next 2 weeks but no baby!

Tbh, I am little scared of taking 'erbal stuff without a consultation anyway, as you never know about side effects etc. What if I get that fetal expulsion reflex my ante-natal midwife was on about? Yikes.

cricri · 29/10/2008 08:47

Good luck Coolkat! Hope all goes well and look forward to some news very soon!
Lovely names for the twins Merry, can't wait to see some pictures!
No news here - rubbish night's sleep again so feel like death warmed up. Baby feels really low and like it could fall out any moment (wishful thinking!) Doula is back on duty thank goodness, fortunately nothing seriously wrong with her DH.
Daisy Was it you that mentioned your cat being especially clingy? Mine has been acting very strangely for the past couple of days and spent last night cuddled up against me in bed - he never does that! Hopefully he's sensing something
Sorry for all those feeling fed up This has got to be the worst bit - or was it the ms phase when several of us were craving cheesy rice ?

Heartmum2Jamie · 29/10/2008 08:48

Coolcat, how very exciting! I am a little jealous however as today is my due date and baby is showing not 1 sign of wanting to come out and play.

Lolabella: How are you doing today due date buddy?! Any signs?

ruthosaurus · 29/10/2008 08:49

Ceebee there is a nice flapjack recipe on Mumsnet. I am shocking at biscuits but can recommend this one.

Sorry, caffeine and no manners - hi Sunshine!

mum2becks · 29/10/2008 08:58

Welldone to your DS ceebee sounds like a good start as DD got up in the night from the very first night in a big bed!! She now sleeps through but gets up earlier than she did

saurus I cant run either so it wont be a very quick race I have a feeling that I will be late and you sound like you will definately be early so we could well be having our babies at the same time!!!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/10/2008 09:05

Gah I pop off to feed the kids breakfast and it all kicks off

Go coolkat; how exciting. Will be poised by the pooter all day for news

Happy Due date Heartmum and fingers crossed things'll get going for you soon.

rutho, can't drive now as since bump dropped it's wedged right up against the steering wheel and can't lean forward to check for traffic coming.....oh and DH has buggered off with DD's car seat still in the back of his car . and he stopped in a layby for a nap, left his lights on and is now waiting for the AA to come and get him restarted......

I'm a terrible mum . DD has seen our disciplinary measures with DH since she was tiny; sitting on the step or nose against the wall so now if she is naughty and I tell her to do either of thiose things; off she trots. She is very grumpy this morning and has just whacked DS over the head with an action man for no apparent reason. She is now in the corner nose to wall and looking very humbled.

Right, time for a second third breakfast...croissants and raspberry jam...yum yum.

Good Luck again coolkat

and hi to sunshine and welcome to our wee quiet, not very chatty thread

great news on the bed ceebee....DD thinks her bed is just some sort of room decoration, or a means to climb on the chest of drawers. I'm hoping she gets used to the look of it and will eventually ask to sleep in it.

right croissants smell ready.

laters xx
