Any more news on baby boy marigold?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/10/2008 21:26

I've had a photo from Obs as well...he looks gorgeous, really alert

I want my baby NOOOOOOOOWWWWWW

I was wondering about Merry's little boy too. I hope he's doing better now.

Hi ladies,

Sorry not to check in earlier, it's been a busy old weekend. Hugs to all, esp Vbab and Drswife. I will catch up properly tomorrow when I am once more left to bounce off the walls my own devices.

So want my baby now, v tired and immobile and have kind of forgotten what all this is in aid of as the idea of actually having a baby seems very far off tonight... Night night and see y'all in the morning, unless insomnia strikes in which case the ass-kicking shop will be open at Scrabble as per.

No news on Merry's little lad?

misdee · 26/10/2008 21:55

i am twinging on and off again. i hate all this stop/start stuff. never had it this bad with the other 3.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/10/2008 22:02

Me as well misdee , but I think it might be down to the exertion of my earlier walk (we were out for an hour and a half, but it's usually a 40 minute walk ) and fight with the brake on the P&T.

OP posts:
misdee · 26/10/2008 22:15

the way i feel tonight with all this twinging, i would happily give up my homebirth.

suiledonn · 26/10/2008 22:25

Hi, wasn't sure if anyone would still be around.

Misdee I know what you mean about the twinges. I am having them too and it is driving me insane. I WANT A REAL CONTRACTION NOW, not the ambiguous, could be a kick, could be something else nonsense I've had for days now.

misdee · 26/10/2008 22:28

oh god su, yes, that whole 'is this it?' feelinsg i keep getting.

and the dampness as well.

knowing my luck, iwill go overdue and wont give birth on my own, they will putting dynamite up there to shift this one out in december lol.

suiledonn · 26/10/2008 22:32

I'm so fed up now I'm thinking of asking to go ahead with induction when I am in for monitoring tomorrow. The head of obs. already agreed to it but up til now I have been anti-induction.

misdee · 26/10/2008 22:34

that bad huh. my induction with dd3 was a piece of p*ss. i got there at 38 weeks, and was already 4cm dilated, so they just broke waters for me. i had her about 3hours later. hospital were wuite relaxed and didnt strap me to the bed. i was upright until the pushing stage where i wanted to get on ther bed to push.

suiledonn · 26/10/2008 22:38

I like the sound of that. Was 2cm dilated on Friday and cervix soft and short so am thinking maybe just breaking the waters might be enough to get things moving. Think I had a small show earlier tonight so maybe it won't come to that.

misdee · 26/10/2008 22:42

oh things might be on there way naturally.

1st pregnancy i was 4cm when they started induction and i hadnt felt a thing. dd2 i woke up in labour, was 6cm when i got to the hospital and had her v v quickly. again with dd3 4cm and not felt one twinge. at this rate, i'll be twinging for weeks and only be 1cm lol.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/10/2008 22:42

fingers crossed things will get moving for us this week. I am so bloody decrepit with SPD and pelvic pain that I can hardly move my legs to walk as I know it's going to be really sore

I have lots of backache as well; in fact it's like a girdle of pain/discomfort.

suiledonn can you ask them to do a sweep and see if that gets things going?

OP posts:
suiledonn · 26/10/2008 22:48

Daisy - sorry the SPD is so bad. I find it hard to get comfortable in bed these nights so can't imagine what it is like with SPD.
Is there anything that gives you some relief?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/10/2008 23:05

not really suiledonn; paracetomol doesn't touch it and I don't want to take anything stronger. It's fine if I'm in one position; it's moving that I have issues with. Going up and down stairs is a nightmare and swinging myself into bed hurts like fuck. If I could stay in the one position in bed all night I'd be OK, but the getting up for the loo and then limbs going to sleep means i have to move!

Still, the end is hopefully in sight.

Good Lcuk with your appointment tomorrow. I'll check in after I've seen my consultant

Night all.

coolkat Grrrrrr
Everyone else has reacted quite calmly but that has really hacked me off!! Ok prob just cos I can imagine my SIL doing that and it would really pi hack me off!! Therefore most of my anger is really for her, in a round about way (poor woman, on this occasion, she hasn't even done anything).
But, oh, just grrr. Why should she imagine that either you should want to hide youself away or that the other guests should want you hidden away or that, either way, any baby ought not to be fed in the village hall loos!! Or is your village hall especially nice? Most are good enough function halls but the loos always seem to be leave a lot to be desired and are normally Freezing!
That is in my experience anyway.
But, of course, these ones are lilac so that's bound to make it all better!!
Eh?? what is that about??

What is HSM?
I have a feeling I haven't seen 1, 2 or 3. What is it that I am missing out on?

Thanks guys, yeah I have to say my wee DD can be a little sweety.
She has taken to putting her hand on my shoulder, when I am on the floor, to ask questions.
Imagine she is slightly behind, wee hand goes on shoulder, she bends over to look you in the face to say, 'What's wrong mummy?'
At the mo, the question is, 'You can't wins mummy?' 'no, you can't wins'
Came about a few days ago when I said exasperatedly, to my mum, who was winding me up good naturedly, 'I can't win!'
Now DD says it all the time, with an oh dear poor you look.
It is so funny and sweet, especially with the wee hand on your shoulder.

She is just a doll!
I am so worried I am in for serious payback for DD's good nature!
I know I shouldn't gush, but I thought I ought to lighten the tone of my post after showing such anger
It just annoys so. I could not stand it if anyone had ever tried to get rid of me whilst I was feeding DD anywhere. Luckily I am in Scotland so it was never an issue and in fact I was prob more congratulated!

misdee · 26/10/2008 23:11

HSM=High school musical.

we have 10 tickets for tomorrow afternoons showing at the cinema, so i better not be in labour tonight lol.

missygoo · 26/10/2008 23:13

Does breaking the waters count as induction?
I didn't know that?
But then I guess it will depend on the circumstances.
They broke my waters but I was well under way when they did that. No idea how many cm's though.

Oh so, there are quite a few who are making moves. suiledon how exciting, I didn't pick up on the fact that you were dilated at all. That is exciting!

So I will be logging on tomorrow morn to find out about docswife and suiledon
Mind you if anything has happened I guess I will be waiting for news from a text buddy for you suiledon?

missygoo · 26/10/2008 23:18

Cheers misdee Nope not sure that I am missing out on much then

Oh daisy poor you that sounds so uncomfortable.
I am still wincing (sp? does that need an 'e') if I have to turn over at night but it is managable and gone as soon as I get up.
Yikes, to have to deal with it all day long.

Dozymare · 27/10/2008 07:46

morning all - hope we are all ok today - any overnight babies from suiledonn or missdee???! Also got a photo and call from Obs can't believe how much hair her DS has got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any news from Merry?????????

I am slightly worried - boked in for my CS this thursday, and today have woken up with a sore throat...I am prone to tonsilitus and now really worried that if I am not 100% they won't operate? Does anyone know if that is true or not?????

Well, it is half term for us and I am really looking forward to spending some time with the boys before the new arrival!! Am going to take them swimming today and then try and spend some quality one on one with both of them......see, I am feeling guilty already!!!!

Oh, I forgot to add - for those of you that are planning on mixed feeding, bottle feeding or expressing a bottle a day so DH can feel the LO's......I can highly recommend the mothercare self sterilising bottles which are £9.99 for 6 - all you do is add water and put them in the microwave, you don't need any steriliser units etc etc

Here is a link

www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-steriliser-bottles-240ml-6pk/dp/B001CJ49JQ/sr=1-12/qid=1225093475/ref= sr112/278-7247949-4034237?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44555031&mcb=core

This really does make life easier if you are planning on using bottles at any stage

misdee · 27/10/2008 08:31

i am still here, much to my relief. i think i am looking forward to HSM3 more than my dd's lol.

ruthosaurus · 27/10/2008 08:51

Morning all,

Coolkat, can you have her sectioned? It really is the only way for some brides. When she?s had her baby and brings it over to see you, insist that she only feeds it in the loo. Grr. Mind you, good job those loos are painted lilac cos if they were mint or lemon there?s no way they?d be hygienic enough to feed a tiny baby in. Grr 2. Mind you, your DD sounds like such a star! Makes you remember why you went through all this the first time, right?

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rubbish. Missdee, Lacks and Suiledonn, please can I join the "what the hell is going on here - is this it or what?" club, even though it's not my 3rd child?

I mean, how do you know whether it's slow labour or just more Braxton Hicks? Stop, start, stop, start? I?ve been getting quite a bit of mucous and then I had 5 quite strong contractions half an hour apart each on Saturday night, went to bed and they stopped again. Yesterday evening I had one so strong that I had to get onto my knees and make funny noises into the sofa cushions, much to DH?s concern. This morning I got woken up by a contraction or something that made me nearly throw up, including really nasty pain down one side of my back, and it?s been on and off since. So what I want to know is, is this going to go on for a week and then hey, a baby! Or is this just late pregnancy niggles and I?ve potentially got another month of this? I am 37+5 today, so I guess all bets are off. But seriously, eurgh, this is shite (scuse lang).

Lacks, poor you with the SPD, I have it fairly mildly but it?s enough to make me burst into tears when I have to get up for a wee or four in the night. I know what you mean about the girdle of pain and discomfort and am very much looking forward to getting back into the suspender belt of being able to turn over in bed without breaking into a sweat. Hugs and sympathy in spades.

Missdee please can I come to the cinema with you? I can?t promise not to go into labour in the pictures but I?m getting bored of tinternet and 60 minute makeover?

Vbab, men are arses. DH has now wallpapered half the bedroom but is now going to spend the next week making excuses why he can?t do the other half? I agree with others and think both yours and mine are in serious denial about the imminence of the babies and are reacting badly ina very male way.

Got to go, I have to fetch the recyc bin in off the street or my lovely neighbours will steal it and DH will have to resort to sneaking out at night to hide our recyc in other peoples? bins?

coolkat · 27/10/2008 08:51

Morning

Well ladies first off I can not believe the difference in the night I had last night, since weds last week absolute agony and limited sleep, last night still pain but managable and only woke twice

Daisy, sorry you are realy suffering now, hugs, hopefully it will subside a little again soon.

Misdee and Suil I know what you mean about aches and pains at this stage if like me you start thinking is this it, also dampness - Eww down there feels horrible!

TMI Moment last night I had just been for a wee and then stood talking to DH and had a little trickle/gush, now had I not just been for a wee I would think Damm Pelvic floor muscles, hoping its another step in the right direction for labour!

Missygoo gush away about DD, my DD changed so much since she went into year 1 at school its like having another adult in the house!

Misdee enjoy HSM.

Dozy, the mothercare bottles look good, shame I have got some Avent ones for if BF does not work. Hope you have not got tonsilitis coming, I used to suffer really badly and had them out 2 years ago, worth the pain.

Re induction, with DD I went into be induced and it turns out I was already 3cm dialated so they broke my waters and had her in five hours. Quite happy with the birth, its just after things went wrong for me!

Yorky · 27/10/2008 09:03

Morning all, sorry to those of you in pain but thanks for making me feel better!
Off to my mums today, she'd better spoil me as well as DS!
Good luck to those with twinges, trickles and stoppy starty frustrations, absolutley nothing going on here, but only 36+1so nothing till this time nexgt week please! Can't believe last time I was convinced he was going to be late (5days early)and wasn't even counting down to EDD, and now I'm counting down to 37wks! DH was in States 4days before DS arrived! I was dancing at Burns' night ceilidh 6days before he arrived! Not up to that this time
We are much more organised this time, pool, hammock, clothes all ready. Will be packing hospital bags this weekend when I've unpacked form this week - and hoping they never leave the house.

Rosa · 27/10/2008 09:08
