suiledonn wasn't in on the text buddy scheme so we will just have to wait with bated breath!

Will have to catch up on posts later ... but just wanted to let you know I am no longer a wax virgin . I had my legs and bikini line done and to be honest it hurt (not pain) for a second and seemed to be more sensitive on one side than the other. I dont know what all the -ve people i know are on about. I would definitely prefer wax every 6ish weeks than shaving myself as i always cut open my shins and knees. I dont know how true it is but the lady said it should hurt less next time so cool.

DS came through to us crying this morning at 9am due to being made up with cold I think and poorly. He seems to have come around but not eating much and definitely still made up poor love.

ceebee74 · 25/10/2008 12:39

Vbab poor DS, hope he gets better soon Have only had my bikini line waxed once and it bled - not an experience I have fancied repeating tbh!

Am now officially a slob - am sat here, tis 12.30, we have just had lunch and I am still in my PJ's . DH has taken DS to MILs for the afternoon and I am sat MNing munching my way through a bag of foam bananas and shrimps ) I tried to convince DH that I didn't need to get dressed as I am not planning on going out so all I am going to do is switch my PJ's for some comfy yoga-type pants and a t-shirt - might aswell stay in my PJ's - he wasn't buying it though

Daisy re positions - the only ones we can manage now are spoons and me on top but holding on to the headboard for support (sorry if TMI!)

Rosa · 25/10/2008 13:04

Gald you can manage to get jiggy I seem to be too tired and I wish to join the want to sleep can't get comfortable club- starting to piss me off !!!
Dh took dd out for a hour or so this am so I did have time to shower tidy up , put away , sort out, start ironing. He is now off with his mates for the pm . CLouds coming over here so it will be dd and possibly cake making this pm !

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 13:24

I'm going to try making flapjacks in my crappy combination microwave oven. They probably won't work, but as they are only oats, butter and golden syrup will still be edible even if not exactly right.

I feel like ordering the new oven and then leaving it in the middle of the kitchen floor until DH gets the hint

He has a very easy couple of weeks ahead of finishing work on the 7th. The only thing he had planned, a presentation to M & S on Thursday, has been cancelled and he only plans to go into the office for two days this week.

Off to do some virtual christmas shopping.

Lacks Snap- I need to get a fair bit ordered but I get overwhelmed and then forget what I want . Good luck with the flapjacks not liked in our house except by me hence sticking to cakes !!!

MummyNic · 25/10/2008 13:32

Afternoon all fellow droolers. I slept fairly well, only up twice and my pillow was unusually dry this morning - must check DH's to see if I strayed during the night .

Have done 2 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, washed up and emptied the bin. I think that's enough until we visit Tesco later so I shall reward myself with a nap now!

vbab - congratulations on the wax. I get my eyebrows waxed regularly and bikini occasionally. I had my armpits done twice - the pain was like nothing I have ever experienced, I did it a second time as I thought there must have been something wrong the first time but no - it's bloody awful!!!

Oh, love the Princess Bride - never fails to make me laugh and keep me gripped. Now Wesley is a name I hadn't considered..... 'It means I love you' - Ahh!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 13:33

the secret is added butter and golden syrup to make them as gooey as possibly. I can't be done with dry crumbly flapjacks.

Make a list Rosa, then steadily work your way through it

great site here for little stocking fillers

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 13:37

I need a nap just reading your list mummynic. So far I have loaded the dishwasher with last nights tea and todays washing up, anh had a shower, but my hair is still in a towel as I can't find my comb!

well done on the waxing vbab. Never had it done but I'm a strangely not very hairy thing so bikini line has never been an issue here; I've only ever needed a trim, even when pregnant and I can still manage that myself with the aid of a mirror!

Where is suiledonn? cuddling her new baby do you think?

OP posts:
suiledonn · 25/10/2008 13:43

Hi everyone, sorry for the disappearing act and keeping you all in suspense. No baby to report yet. Felt like something was happening until about 10pm last night when everything went quiet. Went to bed and slept fairly well. Back to the hospital this morning for monitoring but there has been no progression. Home again now on strict instructions to rest as my blood pressure is up. They were incredibly busy in the hospital this morning so they really didn't want to admit me. After all the talk of induction etc previously the doctor and midwives I've seen since are against the idea so I have to wait and see and high tail it to the hospital if I think any thing is happening.

Payback for my super-fast birth last time. I bet I will be in slow labour for a week this time.

Congratulations to Pinkyminky - what a lovely name.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 13:48

Just come to say hello i am Shelli and im due on 12th Nov is everyone getting fed up now ?? xx

Rosa · 25/10/2008 14:18

That site is fantastic - I had just done an order from Hawkin and will without a doubt put an order in here. DD is getting a bit spoilt thi syear ( who knows if we are right or not ??) as No2 is bringing her a few things and then with Christmas so near - but have been looking for things that she can do alone - that will keep her amused well at least whilst bf and there are some great things on here. Thanks have saved it !!!

sparkletoes · 25/10/2008 14:24

Vbab - poor DS hope he gets well soon. Yay for the waxing tho. Also never heard that expression 'made up' before meaning poorly before! I love hearing the different expressions that are used around the country!

Ceebs your afternoon sounds perfect to me mmmn shrimps.. BUT it has just reminded me that I yet again forgot to buy WISPAs at shops yesterday!!! I even saw advert for them on the way duh!!!

Suiledonn hope you can get some rest now and then you never know...

DH and DS have just been watching the Princess Bride! DH loves that film the most in this house! However it would appear that DS has started the whole 'no naps for me anymore' saga again good timing wee guy! (Sparkle sobs off to sofa)

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 14:35

Hi again shelli , glad you found us.

We've got five babies already, and another couple expected next week (elCS) so things are gearing up nicely for us now.

It is five isn't it? or have I missed one?

shelli is joining the false labour club as well

Betti · 25/10/2008 15:05

Thanks for the names everyone. Will try them on DH.

I also want to join the 'false labour club'. I'm now waking everyday thinking 'is this it?' and going to bed every night hoping it's not!

Princess Bride - wtf is that?????

suiledonn · 25/10/2008 15:21

Hi again, lying in bed, taking it easy at the moment. DD is with MIL for the afternoon as Dh wants to go and play a match. Having the odd twinge but think it is just baby poking me for the fun of it. This was all so much easier last time round - I never expected to have dd before due date and just woke up one night in labour. Much better than this false alarm, am I? aren't I? business.

Can't believe how many of you love The Princess Bride. It has always been one of my favourite feel good films but didn't know any other adults felt the same.
Also love Willow the same sort of fantasy adventure although I haven't seen it for years.

tegan · 25/10/2008 16:30

i think i need to join the false labour club too. Dh is very concerned (i'm on my 3rd so he is a bit of an expert now) about me as i got up this morning and had raging diahrea and have spent all day cleaning, even the kitchen cupboards. So dh thinks i am nesting and am going to have baby 4 weeks early.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 16:40

tegan, some of us had an urge to do a bit of nesting around 37 weeksish, and still no babies for us, so try and calm him down

But, if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen and 36 weeks isn't so bad really.

nice to hear from you again

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 16:41

and third labours are notoriously stop/start so the anecdotal evidence would have us believe!!

Daisy - nap over so back online. Did you manage to get one?

DH has just come in, he had to go into work today so his reward is to finish off the chocolate cake I made on Wed. There was a quarter left and he was going to eat it all - I've managed to get a sliver!!

Hi Shelli Betti - The Princess Bride is a cult classic, I fell in love with it when I was a student.

tegan · 25/10/2008 16:42

Thanks, don't get chance to catch up with you all as often as i would like.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/10/2008 16:44

no nap here . DD has refused to go down for a nap today. she is now getting to the stroppy inconsolable stage.

hopefully a nice big meal and an early night will do the trick.

talking of which, it won't cook itself!

OP posts:
MummyNic · 25/10/2008 16:48

Gosh, is it that time already - best get to Tesco so we can watch X Factor etc - thank God for Sky +!!

Daisy sorry you didn't get a nap - I slept for bothe of us I think - I'm so tired these days - and it's only going to get worse!!!

tegan · 25/10/2008 16:53
