Hi, I'm also on the June thread but officially my due date would be 4th July 2009 so thought I'd better set up a thread for all these summer babies.

Got 3 BFP's yesterday although technically I am only 3+2 weeks. Would love to symptom spot with fellow early testers. Surely there must be more of us out there !! I can't be the first

o me too, ready2pop - whenever I get stressed I just say thank goodness i'm not sitting at my desk at 4am. I miss some things about it but am generally much happier being home with ds.

I did have some Martha Stewart/Nigella hybrid fantasy though for when I left work that involved me creating stationery cupboards and baking cupcakes - so far I've made one banana loaf in a year and a half

Misspaella · 20/11/2008 15:51

Gillyan YAH on good scan result. That is brilliant.

Mickleylou, Sweetie34 and other new BFP's, welcome!

Marvonia Alexandria does sound so exotic...why are you there? Is it not how I picture an Egyptian city to be? (er, my images do come from big Hollywood films tho).

Christiana my boobs aren't too sore yet either so don't fret.

I have my Dr's appt on Monday so hopefully she will refer me right away and I can book my scan just before Xmas.

Is anyone playing the pg card yet? DH was incredibly snappy with me this morning so I just plainly told him to cut it out as I am pg and moody. He did.

Hi to all

Have been feeling a bit worried the past few days as after having felt constantly sick last week am now only feeling the occasional bout of quesiness and thinking somethings wrong. Have finally booked my doctors appt for next Tuesday but am dreading facing the scan in a few weeks time. Has anyone elses sickness decreased in pregnancy before the 12 week without it ending badly? Feeling really pessimistic for some reason, hinting to my husband not be be surprised if something goes wrong. This is the longest three months of my life and I find that I can't stop thinking about whats going to happen, although I can't know the outcome at this stage.

mavornia · 20/11/2008 17:30

misspaella, dh is half egyptian/half armenian and grew up in Alexandria. We met at university 11 years ago and had many years of travelling back and forth to be together - i lived in Germany and Dubai for a while and after uni I was in London and he was back in Alex.

after i got diabetes in 2004, it made us reassess our plans and we decided we wanted a slower lifestyle and to be together in one place. we have a lovely lifestyle in Alexandria but neither of us is really enamoured with the city - might move back to Belfast in the future where I'm from.

you have to go everywhere by car (can't just open the front door and go for a walk anywhere), it's dirty and absolutley packed with people and cars. then there's the in-laws...

hmm, will try to think of some nice things about it and stop being such a grouch

Hi binkerbeany we have the same dates and I also have a (nearly 2yr old). Hope you are feeling better than me got a stonking cold so really bunged up and coughing, not helping with my lower ab pain and mc panicing.

I'm a ranger for the Forestry Commission, not the type with a gun though, I look after the public side of things.

QueenFee · 20/11/2008 19:22

Belgrano Funnily enough my sicky pregnancy was a girl
Christiana Will be waiting to hear of any improvements with the night sickness

Had a bad day today - I feel exhautsted enough without all that stress

Apparently my DD told my friend the other day that mummy has a baby in her tummy. Now we have been carefull not to talk about it in front of her so how do I find out if she knows or if shes just imagining it (quite a common occurence with 4 yr olds apparently)

Belgrano · 20/11/2008 19:46

What a lot of lawyers! My DH is a lawyer so i feel in familiar company since most of our friends are too (from law school etc)
Christiana - I am also in torturing-myself-over-not-feeling-pregnant hell. So boring isnt it. The thing I keep wondering is if something could have happened and I dont even know - entirely possible (specially since I'm not sick really at all this time). I am trying really hard not to worry about things i can't affect.
Anyway, good evening all.
PS Just told my parents, the first people we've told. So exciting!

Gillyan - Fab news about the scan. So pleased for you .

Welcome to Mickleylou, Sweetie34 and Binkerbeany. Congratulations

I got my confirmation from the docs today so now need to wait 2-3 weeks for a booking in appointment with the midwife then roll on Jan for my first scan

gingermumi · 20/11/2008 20:05

Fab news gillyan.

Mrsmope I am about 6 weeks and felt a bit sick last week but nothing this week. I have had blood tests to check HCG and all is well (nothing to do with sickness, it was because dates were a bit confusing). I guess it just comes and goes.

Lots of odd dreams here too.

Christiana- mental state is probably pregnancy- brain , i haven't recovered from last time so there's no hope for me!

I am not a lawyer! Am a lecturer in an FE college (teach English).

Not sure how long I can keep this a secret in RL when I was in docs today a friend of my sister's was there when the nurse shouted (and I mean shouted,) down the corridor 'yes, she's in the midwife's book'. Great! so much for confidentiality! Not only that but I'm looking a bit 'rounded' too. anyone else having trouble keeping it quiet?

Phoenix · 20/11/2008 20:10

at confidentiality

I've told some people already cos i can't keep my mouth shut. I look rounded anyway so that isn't a problem .

I've felt really sick today but i think it was worse than the rest of the week cos i haven't eaten much. I never had sickness with ds so this feeling sick is all new to me

mavornia · 20/11/2008 20:20

ooh, christiana - I've been watching Wild at Heart here in Egypt (rather silly programme about that vet in South Africa with the awful smug Amanda Holden) - not that it's even the same place but it's given me lots of silly romantic notions about Kenya

mavornia · 20/11/2008 20:22

i haven't lost my weight from ds - fear i'm going to look like a pudding on legs and be told off by the doctors when i go in for my scan

and my plans to eat healthily disappeared with the twix i snaffled down after dinner

naturopath · 20/11/2008 20:26

um, another lawyer here. wierd.
Gillyan - great news! so happy for you.
Can't remember who suggested sweet and sour chicken but that sounds amazing. I just had a VERY good steak sandwich (not something I would normally eat).
Christiana I agree with Mavornia - def good idea to retrain as lawyer, but you will have to find the time (which I could never do). Then again I do work 5 days a week in the City.. not sure how that's going to work with two!- then again, others do it.
Sorry for everyonen feeling sick /not sick. Feeling a bit nauseous myself - but the steak sandwich seems to have staved that off for a bit.

bedhed · 20/11/2008 21:27

evening everyone,

Wow its getting hard to keep up with this thread! Had usual tiring week but managed to stay awake past my usual 9pm bedtime tonight.

Gillyan fantastic news about the scan

Christiana I have been feeling worried because I have not really felt sick this week, whereas last week i was feeling sick almost constantly. now just tired really. Hopefully this is all just the usual run of things.

Has anyone started putting on weight? I think I have put on 4lbs already, I did put on a lot of weight last time in the 1st trimester but not at this pace! have been having rather lot of green and blacks chocolate though.....

I work in the NHS in a technical role and was lucky enough to be able to go part-time after DS.

bozette · 20/11/2008 22:13

Good evening. Sending lots of positive thoughts to those of us whoe have worries.....

I haven't posted since i joined because have been doing long days 0730-2000 since monday. I'm a doctor, but know nothing about obstetrics except what i learnt in medical school over 10 years ago ie forgotten!!

Its been absolutely exhausting running around all day without letting on to anyone how i'm really feeling!! I don't want to tell anyone for awhile so its really nice to be able to talk to you all!!

Its not helped by my DH having man flu this week and having to come home each evening and make us food. Actually he's now decided its sympathy ms!!

Gillyan · 20/11/2008 23:20

christiana try not to worry, although I now how ridiculous it is to say that to someone. I didn't feel sick at all the last 2 days when I had that scare too but today I've been well rough again

I decided, well demanded a take away pizza as it was all i could stomach and when it came I had 1 piece and then threw it all away, food I can stomach at the moment is a 'healthy' list of the following

Rich Tea biscuits
Ginger Nut Biscuits
White Toast
Wheeto's
Wine Gums
Mini pots of trifle or strawberry cheesecake
Apples
Glasses of water

I keep trying to force food down too as I am such a foody but I think I am learning now to just not bother, it'll prbably do me good

Welcome to all the newly pregnant ladies, there's a lot of us now, everyone is so nice on here!

Morning,

Christiana, i'm with you on the feeling crapola today. Dh got up for work at 4.50am and woke me up then i got a weird pain down my side (think i twisted awkwardly ) and just laid there thinking 'a pain down the side could be an ectopic pg' and then i couldn't get back to sleep cos of all the paranoid thoughts running round my head. And i woke up feeling sick today. Just had a slice of toast and a packet of crisps for breakfast and having a cup of coffee.

Hope everyone's ok

binkerbeany · 21/11/2008 09:20

Hi Woollyjo poor you, hope you're feeling better. I have fear about catching the chicken pox that's going round as never had it. That's the problem when you already have DC, catching anything and everything going round! I am constantly worried, even though I have same pains as last PG, it still doesn't stop my worrying! Can't wait til scan, so long to go.
What an interesting job. I work three days a week in insurance. It's not bad and at least pays the bills!

Christiana, I have been very thirsty too. I hardly ever drink usually, but constantly thirsty now and nothing seems to quench thirst. Didn't notice it in last PG. Also craving salt. Doesn't help as salty things are making me more thirsty!

mavornia · 21/11/2008 09:51

morning ladies!

i've been sitting thinking how fantastic it would be to be a wedding planner or a forest ranger - i'm sure i could find a bit of shrubbery in egypt and plan a career change!

have been pestering dh about baby names - part of me thinks I shouldn't be talking about it yet in case i jinx myself but the other part of me can't help it. Years ago dh and i decided that Daniel and Roman were good names for boys -we already have our Daniel but now i'm not sure about Roman and dh is refusing to budge and claims to hate anything else - well, suppose i have nine months to work on him...

would apprecitae your advice on this - I'm meant to be flying to Belfast next Friday. This will involve a long car trip to Cairo, flight to London, then another flight to Belfast. I will be just over 3 weeks pregnant and will be flying on my own with ds who is 20 months but very tall and heavy (about 21kg). I don't know whether to postpone or not - i probably do more effort on my own in Egypt than I would travelling and I'll have so much help with ds from my family in Belfast - but is it too risky fying at this early stage?

Misspaella · 21/11/2008 09:53

Morning
Binkerbeany I am craving salt too! I even add a bit extra on my Tyrell's.

I have been a bit smug this week thinking how my skin didn't really look too horrid considering and what happens? BIG spots on my nose and chin! How DH still fancies me is a wonder.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.
