Hi, I'm also on the June thread but officially my due date would be 4th July 2009 so thought I'd better set up a thread for all these summer babies.

Got 3 BFP's yesterday although technically I am only 3+2 weeks. Would love to symptom spot with fellow early testers. Surely there must be more of us out there !! I can't be the first

Misspaella I'm in Bristol. Mean old NHS.
Night all. Sleep well and not too much midnight wandering and puking please.

PS Telling my Dad tomorrow - he's the first person we've told because he is very ill and so I am really excited to be taking home some good news for him. yay!

Gillyan · 19/11/2008 01:04

Hi everyone - I've had a right night! Had a small bleed to accompany my period pains - went to hospital and they hope it's not an eptopic PG but got to have a scan at EPU on thursday morning - very nervous -

Doc said I have a Urinary Tract Infection which can cause a miscarrige and that what happened today is a threatening miscarrige.

Been given anti biotics for now so just got wait and see if PG is healthy on Thursday! Was reading naturopath post and I'm only 7 weeks today so I wonder if they will find a heartbeat, god the waiting will be awful

Hope everyone else is okay

Hi christiana and phoenix Pains not too bad today, just like period pain really but I have beenhaving them for a few weeks -

Got to wait till tomorrow as they were already full and doc said as I haven't had any more blood and pain not severe I could wait ill tomorrow

She did say though that if pain gets suddenly worse or any more blood then I can go straight back to A & E and I'll be seen ASAP

Hopefully this will all just go away and everything will be fine - Doc said to not go to work till Monday as got to get over the urine Inf

Fingers crossed it's just a blip!

I'm off now DD is at nursery today as I should be in work and I'm going to have a duvet day on the sofa with a book - Bliss ( well still quite worried but trying to be cheery)

I'll keep you updated

Mij · 19/11/2008 12:03

Sorry to hear of everyone's scares. Having had one last week I really sympathise.

Feeling sick as a dog again (why a dog I wonder?) and desperate not to be at work, but also horribly behind so just have to try to plod through some stuff.

We have a dating scan here at 12(ish) wks and a 20(ish) wk one too. I'm booked in for 19th Dec, so we can tell people at xmas, although strictly speaking I won't be quite 12wks then .

Interesting to hear your BFP stories. I weed on the stick with DP in the next room both times, then stuck it back in its packet, sat together fidgeting for 5 minutes, and looked at the same time. Not exactly romantic, but kinda I suppose in that we wanted to know together .

Managing to keep my job shut in RL, although had to tell friends at the weekend - had reunion with 5 mates staying over, not known for their moderation with the vino, so decided early on to blab to avoid pointed questions and because I'd had that scary bleed, wanted them to know what was going on if I suddenly burst into floods of tears! May have to tell colleague though, as dates screw up next year's plans and decisions need to be made soon.

OOOOhhhhh, I REALLY don't want to be at work.

Mij · 19/11/2008 12:04

that would be GOB shut in RL, of course...

Phoenix · 19/11/2008 12:15

Out of interest (and a bit nosiness ) what does everyone do for a job?

I work at Royal Mail, collecting mail from post boxes, post offices and firms so quite a lot of lifting involved especially at this time of year. I work 1.40pm - 6.50pm weekdays and Saturday mornings 8.50am - 1pm. I get 1 rolling day off a week.

mum2boys2girls · 19/11/2008 13:35

Hi everyone haven't been on for a while really suffering with all day and nite sickness, have this feeling like someone has punched me in the tummy anyone else feeling the same ? Midwife is coming round on Friday to book me in as I will be 8 weeks then !!
phoenix I work for British Airways as cabin crew have to tell them soon as they have to redeploy me elsewhere until maternity leave can be taken but hate telling anyone until I have had that 12 week scan just feel like I am tempting fate

Misspaella · 19/11/2008 13:41

Hey all
Phoenix I am a SAHM by default. I was due to return back to work from 2nd mat leave in Aug and was made redundant 2 weeks before my rtn date. TBH I was not too gutted, I had been there a LONG time and the package paid off my debts. That was what I was going back to work for anyway besides paying for childcare for 2 only would have left me with some loose change anyhow.

Gillyan my thoughts are with you! Pls don't get too stressed by this.

Mij do you want to trade places!? I go to work and you take care of my 2.

Hope everyone else is doing ok today chrisiana, hobnon57, mavornia etc.

Better go and see why my 2 are so quite.

lastboxoftampons · 19/11/2008 14:40

Gillyan Hope you're feeling better. I'm also having lots of period pains. I had a mmc at 11 weeks in March and I don't really remember feeling like this. I remember feeling cramping, but it was more like pulling/pinching than this aching/menstrual type thing. Now it's across my back, tummy and down the front of my legs, which is always how I am with AF. It's worse at night and I've been waking up around 2-3am needing some paracetemol. I hope it's just normal stretching for both our sakes

I've only told DH and those in the virtual world But DH did tell BIL who most likely told SIL. We're going to be telling my family next week, as I'm American and we're visiting home for Thanksgiving. Can't not tell them while I'm there! And will probably tell DH's family at Christmas. Friends and work will wait until after 12 week scan. Last time I was pg, DH and I looked at the test together, this time he knew where I was in my cycle and knew it was looking good, but I took the test while he was still in bad and I woke him up with a kiss on the cheek and a "You're going to be a daddy"

So sorry for all of you who are feeling sick

ready2pop · 19/11/2008 14:58

Gillyan, hope all is OK. I had so many scares and bleeds during my last pg but all was fine in the end. So worrying though.

I am seeing my GP tomorrow to get the ball rolling. Slightly embarrasingly, I have no idea how pg I am. My AF haven't properly returned as I'm still breastfeeding and also I just haven't been paying attention and can't remember for the life of me when the last time was. I'm pretty sure it can't have been more than 8 weeks ago but can't be more sure than that.

Does anyone know what they will do? Will they send me for an early scan to work it out or can they tell by looking at hormone levels etc... Just a bit worried as the first scan they do here is the nuchal scan and I know that this has to be between 11 and 13 weeks...and I won't know when that is!

lastboxoftampons · 19/11/2008 15:06

ready2pop If you really have no idea, then they might send you for a scan. Fingers crossed!

I have a similar kind of questions. I ovulated very late in my cycle this month - on CD24. I'm likely to see the GP in a few weeks and if it's anything like last time, she'll send my info up to the hospital and then they contact me with a booking in and scan date. Last time, the nurse at the GP insisted with me that she needed to measure based on my LMP, even though I told her I ovulated late - it wasn't quite as late as this time around, so I just let it go. This time around, should I just tell her my LMP was 10 days later than it actually was? Will the 10 days make much of a difference when it comes time for the scan? (I know the 12 week one needs to be fairly precise).

Misspaella · 19/11/2008 15:37

Hi Lastboxoftampons
I would definitely give your LMP as 10 days late....you have nothing to lose. I do think with the first scan it can be from about 10 1/2 weeks to 14 weeks. Where abouts are you from BTW. I moved to London over 13 yrs ago from San Fran.

Phoenix was just thinking, when will you let work know as you have lots of lifting involved. The post is bound to get heavier as well with Christmas around the corner.

Mum2boys2girls - is this going to be your 5 DC? WOW, I bow to you. I keep thinking how "interesting" it will be in my household next summer with 3 under 5yrs but it is only 3.

Ready2pop hello. Not sure what they will do for you. Maybe take hormone levels (or does bf interfere with that?). Let us know.

Gillyan · 19/11/2008 16:12

Hi everyone - thank you all for your kind messages!

I'm feeling okay and can't wait to get scan over with tomorrow.

readytopop I had no idea how PG I was last time as unplanned and they sent me for an early dating scan - I was *weeks and 1 day and then had one at 13 wks and 20wks.

phoenix I work in a Building Society, I work as a cashier on a till, but also I am qualified to sell a few financial products so I have appointments with customers too, I also do the reception - I work at the the main branch which founded the company and it is huge - I have told people at work early because for a start half of them knew I was trying! Also I was leaning on a chair the other day feeling sick and a collegue ran past me and collapsed it for a joke and I fell off, we also get a lot of irate customers in at the moment as we are merging with Nationwide. People can be quite aggressive. Also my job is sometimes like working for Age Concern - which I don't mind but we do have a lot of customers who smell of piss/shit/sick/damp/and generally unhygienic stuff!

I do a admin part of the job which is not customer facing and my boss is pretty good with me and I can kind of choose where I want to work. I work 3 full days a week and every other sat till 12.30, I worked full time last time and it was soooo hard so I think I'll manage with 3 days now although I cannot wait to get on maternity leave ( hopefully!)

Gillyan · 19/11/2008 16:14

sorry 8 weeks

NattyTomAndEllen · 19/11/2008 17:19

righto, i been to the docs
convinced her to test my HCG levels, to check they are doubling every 48hours, and an early scan booked for tomorrow
wish me luck :D

natty (aka keeper of the list lol)
