fikelly, would love to have a red dress. I've not bought anything from Is Oliver but you've inspired me to search ebay right now!

frazzledoldbag34 · 23/10/2008 21:18

I just get freaked out and turn green - then my legs don't work. Embarrassing .
By the way is your IO dress lovely on? Have you tried it with a cushion up the front? - that's what they make you do when you try things on in Formes!!!!

FiKelly · 23/10/2008 21:30

The dress is fab and as soon as it arrived it was out of the packet... then me stripping off in the lounge... good job we're not overlooked DS was amused but more interested in his trains.

Looks great on and the fabric hangs really nicely... great weight about it and very comfy. I didn't need a cushion when trying it on as my small bump is visible already. But will look even better I'm sure when bump is even larger.

There is another dress the same as mine on at the moment in a size 5 here

frazzledoldbag34 · 23/10/2008 22:23

Just had a look and it's lovely. Fab colour for Christmas too. My friend has the ruffle wrap one in dark purple which she says I can have - can't wait to get my hands on it and try it on too! Don't think I'll need a cushion either though tbh.

frazzledoldbag34 · 23/10/2008 22:24

LOL at DS being more interested in his trains than his naked mummy!

llareggub · 23/10/2008 22:36

Last time I tried on a dress in front of DS he looked at me and laughed.

thought we'd cracked the occasional waking of ds in the night. the snuggly sleep suit def made a difference.. until ds woke up upset at 11.30pm last night. after a cuddle from me & dh, a drink and story he happily went back to bed with a night light.. fished it back out just in case plan b would be needed. so far so good tonight. off to bed with everything crossed x

justgotbfp · 24/10/2008 08:02

hello everybody. My bump is very pronounced but I am quite a small frame and popped out very early with ds too so I am not surprised. Unfortunately it means that people have started asking and I was really wanting to hear babies heart beat so that if things all go badly (me a pessimist no never) I won't have to go around telling everybody. I am hoping the continued sickness and the bump indicate everything is fine. Is it possible for everything to be alright if they don't hear a heartbeat on Tuesday or is it expected that at almost 14 weeks it will be easy to detect on the doppler? FiKelly I haven't read any of your other posts but if it is any consolation our 4 year old still wakes at night at least 1 or 2 times a week.

bantam73 · 24/10/2008 09:03

Morning everyone

JUSTGOTBFP - My MW managed to find a HB on monday at 12wks but she warned me she might not. I think she tried cos I said I had a full bladder and I think it will be like a scan, needs pushing up abit.

Thats the one thing I'm not looking forward to this afternoon, 1 1/2 pints of water 1 hour before with no wees......... I do not have a strong bladder

Momino · 24/10/2008 09:49

morning all. guess i'm not alone with the waking up... our nearly-3 year old who's slept through the night since 8 weeks has been waking up during the night for the last two months. we dropped her day nap which helped initially but she started waking up again. usually she doesn't wake up fully but last night she woke at 2am for an hour, waking our 1 year old. so both dh and i had to soothe them.

don't know why she's started but i have heard it's normal at this age. anyone know how to stop it?

dumb question i just asked. if anyone knew how to stop children from waking up in the night, it wouldn't happen!

sorry for the duplicate posts all the time. i'm guessing it's my ultrasensitive computer .

Momino · 24/10/2008 09:54

Cote, just a clarification on Dakota - most people who are brave enough to name their child this (mostly in the US) do so not because of the two US states but because it means 'friend' in the Lakota language. this is why we liked it but aren't brave enough. i do feel american but not THAt american!

bantam73 · 24/10/2008 10:15

Hi again

The hospital has just rang to say my scan for this afternoon is cancelled due to illness so now I'm having a moment and feel like the whole world is against me.........

My scan is now next tuesday afternoon as long as no one is ill again!!!!!!!

zuka · 24/10/2008 10:37

bantam73 - so sorry! hang in there, we all know waiting is a complete torture

isabella oliver on ebay - how has this not occurred to be me before?! mind you, i'm not buying anything till the scan (paranoid, i have said) but definitely keeping an eye on a couple of things - bet you i'll be totally addicted once i let myself start buying

divedaisy · 24/10/2008 11:48

HI again - god I've been away a while, and right now I don't really have the time to read all that's been going on with you. So I hope you are all doing well.
We are opening our shop tomorrow - big launch - but I'm terrified it won't be ready. I'm drilling fixings to the walls to hang bikes - I've about 20 bikes lying on the floor and the fixings I ordered from England haven't arrved yet - were meant to be with me yesterdaay at the latest... I'm knackered! I'm also surprised that with the amount of heavy work I've been doing over the past week that I haven't received a 'go easy with you and bump' warning. But I am pacing myself - need to cos my hands are so sore! Oh well the show must go on!!

I got a belly belt off ebay the other night - haven't yet tried it. But bought a pack of 3 belly bands in New Look last weekend nnd I'm not very impressed with them - they didn't hold my jeans up and everytime I bent over my jeans popped out at the back - very annoying indeed!!! So I'm hoping the belly belt contraption will be better and enable me to use my jeans etc a while longer. My son saw the box and laughed - mum what's a belly belt!!

Nausea still there on and off. But do have a bit more energy now (see above antics!), although at night I flake out - need to get to bed early if possible!

Well if I get a chance to catch up later I'll pop in and say Hello!!

Oh are the IO clothes very dressy?? Office wear type - or are they casual?

Jonesy68 · 24/10/2008 12:55

I too had a look at IO clothes on Ebay last night after reading it in the thread and am 'watching' a few! Also daren't tempt fate by buying anything just yet though but want to see how much they actually sell for when the auctions end. Very nice stuff! Thnx for the idea.

Had terrible night last night, about 3 hours sleep and so at work today with huge bags under eyes.... All because just b4 I went to bed & had a pee (sorry if TMI)there was slightly brown bit (sorry again ) and it sent me into a spiral of panic. DP is away in Devon til Saturday so spent horrid night alone worrying that I would start to bleed and MC! Had tummy ache too which made it seem worse. Turned out to be the constipation tho!

Thankfully no blood appeared so was probably nothing! Scared the bejeezers outta me tho! This PG lark is bloody horrible at this stage! I just can't wait to get to a few weeks down the line, I really can't.....

frazzledoldbag34 · 24/10/2008 13:32

Was just on the IO website (looking at the autumn favorites section as it has 20% off!) Quite fancy the garbo trousers in black and the pippa top. Also love the cowl neck jumper which can go on or off the shoulder. Am trying not to buy much until I get all my maternity wear back from my friend (currently 38 wks pg so shouldn't be too long!).
I have one of the black 3/4 sleeve wrap tops from last time (but 3 friends have had it since I last saw it so god knows what kind of state it's in now!) Lived in that last time. I've also got the long black jersey skirt which is great - again I wore that all the time too. Plus a couple of the vest tops. The stuff is expensive but then I wore it post natally for ages as it's all jersey so can stretch or not as required, and I still wear my white IO vest top to sleep in sometimes so it's earned it's keep!
divedaisy IO do all sorts of styles from evening frocks to jeans. Mostly its stretch jersey type things. Really comfy I found , Only drawback is it's not cheap. But I'm pretty sure they'll have a good sale a Christmas time so might be perfect timing!

MsG · 24/10/2008 13:57

Jonesy68, you poor thing, that sounds awful - glad it seems ok now.

My scan is two weeks tomorrow - can't wait for it, though we're dreading it too. Just feels like we're in limbo. Last year I miscarried round about 10 and a half weeks, and we're at 9 weeks now, so pretty anxious. I do feel very different to how I did last time, though, which I'm trying to see as a positive thing.

Had a bad night too because I had trapped wind/upset stomach. I can't eat any food that's too rich or spicy at the moment - it takes hours to calm down - I'm sure others are the same...?

xx

Jonesy68 · 24/10/2008 14:07

MsG I am at just over 10 wks now and had MC at 8 wks in June this yr. The doc told me it's rare after 10 wks but I know it can happen. Especially as I'm 40! I sometimes think I must be mad doing this so late! ...

I also felt v diff when was pg last time so am positive abt it, but it's still worrying. Had my booking appt with the MW y'day and have to phone a number between 10-12 nxt Thurs to make appt for scan. Will be SO difficult as will be at work and no doubt it'll be engaged the whole time, so will spend 2 hrs on redial!

Also get tummy ache at bed time but can't pin down to a specific food type yet.

Febes · 24/10/2008 14:08

Hi everyone. I'm feeling much better now my cold has finally gone. MS is still pretty bad though but I'm on holiday for the next week so really looking forward to chilling out a bit if DD will let me.
We went swimming today which was really good and DD has gone down for a sleep. For all those who have DC who wake we have one too. She was amazing from 10 weeks old sleeping through and since 9 months she has been a nightmare. Last night she was awake from 2-4am!!! I hope she can sort it out before LO comes in May.
I'm 12 weeks today and scan on Monday I thought DH couldn't come but he can now so I'm glad about that.
My only complaint today is I have pulled a muscle between my ribs from throwing up and coughing so it hurts to breathe. I hope it doesn't take too long to heal because its really painful.

lulubellamozzarella · 24/10/2008 14:19

Hi

I am due on 16th May so would like to join this thread. I am due to have my scan tomorrow - a bit surprised to get the appointment for a Saturday but fits in with work!

I've been feeling nauseous for weeks now - any ideas when this is likely to end??

MsG · 24/10/2008 14:23

Jonesy68 once you got past 8 weeks did you feel a bit more reassured or not really? Last time I didn't miscarry until 10.5 weeks but was told it had never developed properly, so it had never even been going well. I'm 36 early next year and also wondering why I didn't start this 5 or 6 years ago really! Oh well. It is worrying but I guess the whole 9 months are worrying for anyone expecing a baby anyway. I read the other day that there's always something to worry about, and then when the baby's born that's when the worrying really starts!

It's nice to be able to talk about worries etc on here anyway.

Febes hope you have a relaxing time off. Hope your ribs feel better soon as well - that sounds nasty. x

frazzledoldbag34 · 24/10/2008 14:44

HI lulubellamozzarella - welcome! You're due on the same date as me - aren't we clever?! I think that makes about 6 of us now on that day, wonder who'll be first?
Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish - my nausea has been subsiding now for about a week, but in my last pregnancy I was nearer to 12 weeks before it went. With my first baby it was 14-15 wks I think before I felt better so I guess it just depends. I think about 12 wks is what they say on average so you hopefully don't have much longer to endure.
MsG and Jonesy68 - I'm with you on the sensitive stomach thing. Usually I have a cast-iron constitution and nothing much upsets me, but this pregnancy I've had dodgy tummies a few times and feel sick after eating things that I used to love (admittedly heavier stodgy things). Still have awful wind which my DD's think is hilarious. My 2 year old giggles and says 'mummy fart/burp' every time - charming! She's also just started saying 'OH God' in a very dramatic voice. To which I respond 'Oh DEAR' you mean. 'No', she says 'OH GOD!'. Hmmmmm. That'll go down well next time the grandparents are here for lunch
