SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 11:28

I keep getting naughty dreams as well - really vivid... that makes it worse! DH doesnt smell very nice to me at the moment though everythign smells yucky!

Moonlit · 03/11/2008 11:46

Hey SweetBROODY - just jump your DH!

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 11:51

thats an idea.. I should do a sexy dinner and candle lights!

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 11:52

He keeps pushing me away though and I know hes worried hopefully I can ask the midwife on Wednesday and after the scan on Friday he wont be able to say no!

Moonlit · 03/11/2008 11:58

ShesHashadafab12weekscan - Sorry for being a bad influence! My kettle chips just tasted like salt, there was no bloody balsamic vinegar in it, I am going to complain.

I sent my DH to get me fish and chips last night with lot's of vinegar!!!!! He is so good to me, I am very lucky.

Momino - Men are truly stupid. If only they could think before they speak. The world would be a better place! A lady said to me yesterday, 'Not long to go then', I was mortified! My husband said told me not too worry because the poor old dear wasn't well. WHATEVER!!!!! I am only 11+2. God please let it be twins at my scan, then at least I have a good come back! Must be careful, what I wish for!

Ladies, we are very lucky to be pregnant, so lets enjoy our bumps, no matter how big they are! People with big mouths are just jealous!

Is no one having twins on this thread?

FiKelly - Good luck for your scan today!

Moonlit · 03/11/2008 12:02

SweetBROODY That's the idea! Go for it! We have our scan this Friday too

I am going to get my Mum to babysit and then go out for dinner with hubby. You should do that to

LoobyLou36 · 03/11/2008 12:07

sweetbroody we are still "doing it". If my hubby doesn't get it regularly he goes all moody - so keeps him quiet. I went off it for a while tho - scared after mc in June. But things are starting to pick up - candles and nice dinner a good idea - set the mood.

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 12:08

I he is working right through to the weekend because of the USA elections he is busy at work.. I could try - but I dont know if he would come with me! was thinking of doing the house up all romantic.. LOL none of my fancy lingerie fits though.. so might need to go shopping to celebrate.. any tips?

Moonlit · 03/11/2008 12:16

SweetBROODY - I don't know where you live, but HOT MILK has the best lingerie/nightwear I have seen for pregnant women. Check out their website and if there is a stockist near you. I am sure your hubby won't say no! .

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 12:19

Theres a lot hanging on the scan on Friday... I dont know how to kill the time between now and then! I would do anything to know everythings ok... the waiting is doing my nut in!

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 12:21

Im in Barnet.. and work in Charing X

I'll have a look at that...

thank you! :S

pulapula · 03/11/2008 12:28

Sweetbroody- we are still "doing it". I think the only advice is that if you have any bleeding afterwards, then best to abstain and speak to MW if worried. So after the first time, I did a lot of checking afterwards, but I've never experienced any bleeding before during 3 pg.

Had a bad morning- DD up in night being sick (luckily DH dealt with it!) but didn't get much sleep as we brought her into our bed to keep an eye on her and she is a wriggler/kicker. Went to the GPs to get her looked at. Just as I had left, I was holding DSs hand as we got to the car and I was getting my keys out etc. Next minute he falls over (he's only just started to walk) and has a massive bump (blood spots etc) on his forehead. I couldn't face going back in to see if i could get a quick appointment but feel so guilty (and now he's grumpy too). SOmetimes I just worry how bad I am as a mother (shouldn't have put him down on the pavement) and how I will be able to manage 3. Just getting out with 2 is a military operation. Keep telling myself DD will be at school next Sept so will only have 2 most of the time....

pulapula · 03/11/2008 12:38

Sweetbroody- I have my scan on Friday too- 9.30am. Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you "everything's OK "- just the obvious baby is there, heart beating, the right size for your dates etc. The 20 week "anomaly" scan is much more thorough and is really the main scan in terms of detecting any medical issues. I just dont want you to think it is more than it is, although I agree just to know that baby is there and doing well will be such a relief.

MrsEvs · 03/11/2008 13:13

divedaisy Both my kids have had the flu shot here every winter and it's been fine. Once, one of them (I forget which, how bad is that!) had a slight fever afterwards but didn't last long. Pretty much everyone has it here and I'm not sure that's strictly necessary, but I think if there were special circumstances like your son's asthma I would definately go for it.

Idiot comments are frustrating and hurtful sometimes but I think you have it right moonlit we should enjoy our bumps while we have them - (though I think I also have the bump on the bottom, lard at the top deal !)

pulapula don't beat yourself up, you could be as careful as humanly possible and kiddos will still get these bumps and bashes. My kids worst injuries have all been while I was standing right there and should have been able to help but somehow didn't! I'm in the same boat as you 2 already with DD1 due to start school in Sept, I've been wondering how I'll manage too, but you know what, you just will - we Mum's always do, somehow we make it work!

sweetbroody no nookie here, but not because of any worries just because I'm too sick and tired to be bothered - does that make me a terrible wife?!?!

Hope all goes well Fi

Jael · 03/11/2008 13:18

Hi ladies, I would like to officially join the May thread now please lol. I've been reading everyday since it started, but have been too scared to join, wanted to make sure everything was ok at scan, as have been getting alot of cramping pains. I'm due 6th May, so 13w5d for me today, if someone could add me to the list, I don't know how to do it lol Have got lovely DD already who will be almost 3 1/2 when baby arrives.

Jael xx

Jennster · 03/11/2008 13:18

Terrible wife here!

Just been on the Seraphine website and was intrigued by the maternity bags. Did they contain special pockets for wee sample pots and tena lady? No they're just changing bags that don't look like changing bags at extortionate prices.

pulapula · 03/11/2008 13:46

I know MrsEvs that they do get bumps- I guess it was worse because 1) he already has a bad bruise on his cheek from where he bumped himself whilst i was fixing the stairgate yesterday 2) he fell off the bed this morning when I was watching him. It feels like non-stop bumps (plus the hand in my cup of tea incident a few weeks back )

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 13:47

lol Your not a terrible wife! I feel sick but soooo horny! I thinki'll be quite happy just to see a heartbeating and see that its still alive pulapula I've been so worried about that!

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 14:24

pulapula kids are quite resiliant - i wouldnt worry to much... your a good mum and dont think otherwise. I am sure your kids love you.

pulapula · 03/11/2008 14:26

sweetbroody- what time is your scan? Lets hope we both have nice active beans on Friday xxx. We will have to have our 16mo DS with us so hope all is well and that he doesn't get too bored/restless- there's usually a lot of waiting after the scan for blood and urine tests. Guess DH could always take him for a walk...

pulapula · 03/11/2008 14:29

Just been looking at seraphine website out of curiosity- doesn't seem that expensive after looking at the isabella oliver site! Might get DH to treat me to something for xmas.

Whoever mentioned maternity pjs- i wore mine last night - still not much of a bump but felt nice anyway as they fit over the bump.

Jonesy68 · 03/11/2008 14:54

Welcome Jael!

Well after all my worrying last week that my scan is so far away (21st Nov - will be 13.6 by then) I had spotting and cramping at the weekend so saw doc this morn, he tried to get heartbeat but couldn't - said not to worry tho as you often can't hear this early but he's booked me an emergency scan for 9.45 tomorrow morn.

Please keep everything crossed for me....

FiKelly · 03/11/2008 15:30

Just back from nuchal scan with a bucket load of photos and all is great. Nuchal measurement was 1.4 & risks are 1 in 3322 for downs and 1 in 27000 odd for the other chromosomal problems... phew relief! will now be announcing to the world. DH didn't get to see much of the scan as DS didn't want to keep still. I got a great view though i'll pop my pictures on later...

Have updated the list with my confirmed due date 15th may & added Jael. I had to combine a few as the list at the beginning of this thread wasn't the most up to date. If anyone is suddenly not there add yourself to this one... & apologies... I did my best...
