Hi all just a real quickie as I get introuble fo Mnetting and not paying any attention to DP.... I feel like I need to make a real effort tonight as he asked if i didn't like him anymore yesterday Trouble is I'm shattered after 2 baby birthday parties this weekend! And the tena lady/cooughing situation is not making me feel very attractive at all

Spangle more than welcome to my top. The ones i have had before have had a slit in one side to thread the long ends through - but these don't do they? I just ended up with a ruck of material like a Geisha girl at the back, I'm going to write to jojo as i think their maternity stuff is pretty poor and very expensive for what it is. Hopefully I'll be more pleased with my seraphine order which is due any day.

One last thing about pjs - i got maternity ones last time and they are v v comfy indeed. They look weird to start with as they have a very long crotch and don't work really till you have a bigger bump - but once that happens they are mega comfortable. I think mine were from next and mothercare - get dark coloured ones tho as you'll wear them in hospital and don't want big red splodges showing on them after sprogs are born!!

runningmonkey · 02/11/2008 19:55

Jools Thats wierd, the woman in next 'looked it up on the computer' for me and said they definitely didn't do short lengths Obviously didn't look v hard did she! Please do let me know how you get on - I've ordered some online from vertbaudet [http://www.vertbaudet.co.uk/] as I had a voucher for £15 off (code was 2762 in case anyone is interested). Will let you know what they're like, prices are sim to next/ Dotty P's.

dandy yes its nice that more people know now. Just got the inlaws to tell now, we're holding off to minimise MIL overexcitement while I'm feeling grotty. She's a lovely lady but I know she'll be on the phone every day if we're not careful!

Not sure who mentioned belly getting bigger but mine has definitely grown in the last 2 days, all my jeans are uncomfy now. Or maybe its the roast dinner DH just cooked - his first ever and it was yum

Ooh, just remembered I said I'd update on the mat bras from figleaves clearance. they arrived on fri and are fab, nice and supportive and much more pretty than the M&S ones. the best thing is that there is an absolutely massive run of clasps at the back (about 8 sets) so hopefully they'll last a good couple of months.

Sorry bit of a long one!

Jools1 · 02/11/2008 20:05

RunningMonkey - I just checked Next online and they definitely have some jeans in the short sizes - maybe the lady in the shop meant that the stores don't stock them ? If that is the case, I'll try on some regular length ones in the shop, then order short ones online

I know what you mean about MIL ! I haven't told her and won't till after my scan. She had 3 boys and has no grandchildren yet. I already find her quite intense (but lovely with it) but fear things are going to up a few gears once she finds out - so am leaving it as long as I can !!

nauseous · 02/11/2008 20:17

Evening all, just been catching up on a week's worth of missed posts... been feeling too tired/sicky to be on the PC, and sometimes I just don't feel PG enough to actually post. Shattered and nauseous today so happy to post for a change!

Good to hear lots of happy scan news!! - though sorry we lost Gateau.

Whoever mentioned the SOUP cravings I am with you. Its the only thing i want to eat apart from eggs and mountains of cheese. Can't abide veg at the moment...

I saw the MW last week, she was lovely. She wouldn't use the doppler even though I kind of begged her, and I could see it on the side of the trolley, arrgh!

Monkey my belly is also suddenly bigger - v pleased! If I'm bloated and constipated-like now - then I look huge.

Got my nuchal scan on 11th Nov, I can't wait, I should be 13+3. I'm just willing the time to pass! Have to distract myself until then...

Sorry for the long post..

Febes · 02/11/2008 20:35

HI Emma!!! I'm having LO in St Heliers too. Is that the one in Carshalton? I'm due 8th so might see you in there. Are you doing the antenatal refresher class. I'm booked in for april its on the 15th or something. Just a one off so could be good to meet people.

EmmalinaC · 02/11/2008 20:48

Hi Febes. Yup that's the one! Am due 3rd May but will probably need elective caesarean so many be a bit earlier.

Didn't know about refresher course (in fact I've just started another thread on that topic!) but will ask about it at my next appointment.

Febes · 02/11/2008 21:02

Oh just checked my card and I am booked on the 12th of March at 7.30pm (not april) so you could try and book the same one and I'll see you there. They only do one a month I think. I also have a DD who is 11.5 months. I live in sutton but was in colliers wood for last PG so had DD at st georges so st H will be a new experience but seems nice so far and I've heard good things.

divedaisy · 02/11/2008 21:04

I did have my humous (jalapeno version from Tesco) with celery, it would have been lovely had the humous been in date! OK it was 'best before' 01/11/08 but it had a distinctly fizzy feel to it which I interpreted as OFF!!! Still hungry, but don't really know what i want to eat. Might settle for toast and tangy marmalade... yip! that'll do the trick... back in a mo - away to stick 2 slices in the toaster!

Oh and DS's 5th tooth fell out tonight! What does the tooth fairy leave for 'drop-outs' in your house? Is £2 too much?

FiKelly · 02/11/2008 21:42

hiya to EmmalinaC we love jersey, only been once but would definitely visit again.

momino the worst comment I got while pregnant with DS was when I was about 6 months. DH had taken me out for a lovely lunch and just as we were leaving the restaurant some bloke said rather too loudly 'my god look at the size of her, just can't understand how people get like that!' to which his totally mortified wife sharply elbowed him in the ribs and said 'shhhh she's pregnant'. My DH was furious and I was just stunned someone could be so rude. Quite easily spoiled a really nice outing...

divedaisy · 02/11/2008 21:46

Some people jsut don't know the difference between a pregnant lady and someone with a weight problem. there was a girl I once worked with and she never developed a bump - i don't know where she put her babies but she never showed and she got really upset because people would comment on the lack of it.. You just can;t win!

divedaisy · 02/11/2008 21:48

Need to go and sort out DS. He is on inhalers for asthma which shows itself as coughing fits as hes going to sleep. I have been told by Asthma Nurse to get him the flu vacine - anyone ever had to get their child this?? Advice please.

divedaisy sorry i've no experience with flu vaccine and little ones.. just my elderly parents. hope your ds asthma eases enough so he gets a good nights sleep.

LoobyLou36 · 03/11/2008 08:16

Morning ladies. Looking v.pg this morning I saw a few family members at the weekend and they couldn't believe how big my bump is for 14wks one particular bitchy member said "my god your going to be the size of a house!". As I'm new to this and they've all had babies I am a little concerned although I've only put on 4 and a half pounds - my hubby says I look lovely tho. Think I'm a bit paranoid. I've just won 4 mat tops on ebay for £5 - good job - I can no longer fit into any normal tops.

I'm probably nuts but I'm sure I can feel it moving around, feel fluttering and then my bump goes hard in a different place - is it just wind?

Jools1 · 03/11/2008 08:37

Dandylioness and FiKelly - I've had the opposite problem Before I lost 3 stone, I often used to get offered a seat on the tube because I carry all my weight on my belly and people thought I was pregnant - sometimes I refused and it got really embarrassing, so I ended up just accepting graciously a lot of the time !! I think the final straw was when we had new neighbours move in who congratulated DP and asked when the baby was due

I'm still just looking fat, but I think it is because my teeny bump is pushing all the fat outwards I do hope I develop a proper bump and don't just look fat for the next 30 weeks !

Am having real problems with raging hormones at the mo - floods of tears all day Sat and Sun, and an incredibly irritable and angry when I'm not crying. Hope this passes soon as DP is losing what little patience he had.

FiKelly · 03/11/2008 08:38

looby 4.5 pounds is nothing.. my tummy seems bigger some days than others.. depending on the constipation! getting ready to drive into bristol for nuchal scan. better go and get ds dressed..

LoobyLou36 · 03/11/2008 08:49

FiKelly good luck withe the nuchal - I had my results on Sat 1 in 3000 so low risk thank god.

Febes · 03/11/2008 08:55

Good luck FI!!
Jools- I have a lovely layer of fat on my tum and now I have a bump again I seem to have pushed the fat upwards so I have a little bump under my tummy button and then fat above so it looks like I have a very funny and lumpy baby bump. Don't worry though in a few months it will all be bump and it will look brilliant.
I'm back at work again and it feels ok I'm much better for my lovely week off. Have a good day everyone.

Jools1 · 03/11/2008 09:02

Hope all goes well Fi

Febes - good description ! I think that is happening to me too - fat moving upwards and outwards I think I'll be turning into a barrell soon with 2 short legs poking out the end !!

I've still been doing abdominal exercises in my gym classes, but will probably have to stop in the next couple of weeks - I hope the muscles don't weaken too much - they've got a lot to hold in !!

OP posts:
SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 11:08

MsG Your scnas the same day as mine I'm quite qorried! Just caught up on all yyour posts.. I am really envious of all you ladies that are shopping already! I am waiting for my scan first.

I hada quicky question.. I am gagging for a shag! and we havent since we found out I was pregnant - I miscarried in May and I think DH is worried... But I cant go on like this.. It should be alright shouldnt it? I had some bleeding at 6.5 weeks but None since.. are you guys you know still "doing it" :s feel guilty about it as well...

SweetBROODY · 03/11/2008 11:16

I wsa terribly sick yesterday and feel a bit better today.. I think its again when I'm gassy that I feel more sick then normal. I am so nervous for the scan on Friday It couldnt come soon enough. I['ve also got my booking in on Wednesday so 2 short days at work.

Febes · 03/11/2008 11:21

Still 'doing it' here I think you should be fine maybe talk to your midwife if you are worried.
