It is a very rare gray and rainy day here. I was going to take DD to tennis this morning, but that doesn't look likely now. So we might go to a shopping center where DD can run around, go into Disney shop, and I can get some maternity clothes from Seraphine. I would especially like to find black tights/leggings

bantam73 · 31/10/2008 10:11

Morning everyone

I'm glad other people have been feeling their babies aswell as me. It's a myth that that you can't feel movement till 16-18wks, that's what the scan lady said. It all comes down to how you are carrying, cos my placenta is at the very back I've got more of a chance of feeling it earlier.

Now that I know I can, I'm feeling it more!!!
DH is jealous

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 10:37

I've got a week before the nuchal scan - S I'm really worried.. I think mine counts as a high risk pregnancy becausae of my Diabetes..

I havent even thought about buying things yet.. still stuck in my jogging bottoms

I'm sorry if I offended anyone ladies..

I didnt mean to - I guess i'm just really hormonal and stressed with life at the min!

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 10:37

I cant help thinking i'd feel better if I washed my hair!

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 11:29

Is it normal to be a bit achy around the lower belly...?? I have been feeling twinges when I bend... but then have been suffering with serious constipation...

Febes · 31/10/2008 11:42

I've been a bit achy below my 'bump' too. I use it as an excuse to sit down and put my feet up

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 12:09

Febes I wish I were so lucky! work are being a bit rude about the whole thing... Does anyone know if banana's can make constipation worse - its the only thing i've been craving and i've been having 2 a day!

SpangleMaker · 31/10/2008 12:12

detsy congrats on the scan results. I guess you will get the bloods today? They rang me the day after. Fingers crossed for good results.

Just come back from hospital appt with obstetrician. He can hear a slight heart murmur so I have to go for an ultrasound - on my heart this time (wonder if they could do a quick look at the baby while I'm there? ). Apparently most murmurs are pretty harmless but in some cases they don't like you pushing too hard/long and 'give you a little bit of help' - forceps/ventouse I presume. Oh well, hopefully I have a harmless kind.

Sweetbroody I've had that too & noticeably more so when constipated. I'm sure you're fine. Hey, if you last out with the non-hair washing you can tell us if it's true the hair looks after itself after so long (3 months I heard). I know someone who tried it but she gave up after 8 weeks - don't blame her!

SpangleMaker · 31/10/2008 12:14

I thought bananas would be good for constipation, but I'm sure one or two people on here said they bung you up. I'd like to know as I love bananas but would rather give them up than be constipated!

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 12:16

Yeah me too! I do like mangos better!

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 12:17

The hair washing thing - MIL said I can use dry shampoo.. but it makes my hair feel like its snowing all the time...

ITs so depressing

and I have to go to an engagement tommorow!

MsG · 31/10/2008 12:26

Out of interest, why aren't you washing your hair, SweetBROODY?

xx

agooboo · 31/10/2008 12:42

I really fancy deep fried brie with raspberry coulis. Is it ok to eat brie?

flippineck · 31/10/2008 13:14

agooboo - I've always worked on the assumption that if you cook cheese then the bad stuff can't survive! So yes, deep fried brie could be good. Uncooked brie though, you're not supposed to eat 'mouldy' cheeses.

Bananas make my DD constipated, sure they could affect adults too.

pulapula · 31/10/2008 13:31

Yes, I'm sure bananas could make your constipation worse. Best to eat apples or drink orange juice if you can to counteract it.

I know its a bit early, but just been to get DDs Xmas and bday (27 Dec) presents. Toys r us are doing a wooden dolls house fully-furnished for £50 (can get the same one on ebay but cheaper in toys r us). She also wanted (maybe she's seen an ad on TV) a doll that swims. Cost me £20 so better be a good swimmer or I want my money back . Also bought an easel for £20 which has a blackboard and magnetic whiteboard. Just DS to buy for now!

CoteDAzur · 31/10/2008 14:08

Bananas and carrots constipate. Cooked green vegetables loosen stools. Wisdom learned from weaning DD

1stMrsF · 31/10/2008 14:33

Hello

Just caught up with the thread - you ladies post LOADS! it's great, I love hearing all the chatter and how people are feeling.

SweetBROODY tradition or no, I think you should decide about your hair - MIL will never know if you don't tell her. In this situation, I think you should do whatever makes you feel better!

I am at home today, was supposed to be working but I feel so horrid I've done nothing but mumsnet and look at maternity underwear websites. So far eaten a crumpet, a bag of salt & vinegar crisps and 2 crackers with cheese spread. Pretty much my diet this week. Have put a potato in the oven for a jacket potato in a bit, hopefully that will work. What did you have for lunch? Inspire me...

12 weeks tomorrow so I feel like I have reached a milestone. Scan on Thursday and then looking forward to telling some friends - had to pull out of a weekend away this weekend as feel so sick, and think some of them will have guessed the real reason.

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 14:35

MsG My mother in Law said its tradition... I havent washed it for nearing 9 weeks!

Thank you for that about bananas.. I just had no idea it could be this painful

SweetBROODY · 31/10/2008 14:38

I had tomatoe pasta with cheese and Ben and Jerrys ice cream.. my treat for the month!

I wish I could just wash it but i'd feel so guilty...

I think it something cutural/relegious... to do this for the whole 9 months might get too much...

Another thing i've noticed since its gotten cold is my boobd hurt so much in the wind! Any one else have this problem? its like soooo painful!
