Hiya, I had my 12 week scan and Nuchal scan yesterday. All fine. just posting to update my due date. Nailbiting now until results come. Can't wait for this (allday) sickness to pass. Good luck to everyone else going for scans.

May isnt actually that far away really is it :S I'm quite worried about work actually - the potential to lose my job :S

hi my computer is being very tempermental so havent been on for a while.
had my scan yesterday. im due on may 9th so ill be 13 weeks on sat, cabt believe it as i only miscarried 14 weeks ago...
burst into tears in the scan room as id go myself so worked up for getting bad news!!!
can someone change me on the list, im on there as due in may.

Seband E's mum I miscarried about 1 week before getting PG with DD and spent the first 3 months rushing to heck my knickers. I have been so much more relaxed this time. [happy] for you

It's hard not to stress but as I had MC just a few months back, am probably doubly paranoid. My friend said she didn't feel pg at all, so wasn't surprised when scan showed no baby with no heartbeat. Still heartbreaking tho. I've felt pg throughout but not in last week except for tired and big belly. No more sicky feelings for a while now. Was really hoping cld have 12 wk scan nxt week and then announce to work (they must be able to see!) and friends. Thought of keeping under wraps another 3 whole weeks is horrible. And after what happened to friend y'day, just want to know we have a wriggler.

PS. Sure someone earlier on the thread paid £80 for their private scan...

I had a MW appointment at 12wks on the dot and heard it's heartbeat!!!

And congrats SebandElliottsmum am deeply envious of everyone who gets scan b4 14 wks at the mo.....

bantam I thought they could!!! They are just being tight! Did they use some special equipment? Do you think I should speak to my GP and be more demanding?

I guess its naughty - but when I started bleeding at 6 weeks and pain in the left of my pelvis they did me an early scan but I had to go to emergancy and it was stressful I did see aheartbeat then - but I am still worried for my 12 weeks one!

sweetbroody... have thought about saying something like this but superstitious about tempting fate.... Will discuss with DP tonight and see if can reach a decision. Wish could just be laid back and 'whatever' about it....but CAN'T!

Jonesy yeah I know its cheeky but I miscarried earlier this year in May so didnt want to risk it with the bleed..... I think I would prob have "tried" it if I hadnt got my scan booked for next week because I have a tendency to worry I'll pray everything goes well for you...

I'm almost a little envious of all these ladies that are due sooner then us late May ladies... It feels like they're winning because they've had all the scans and things.. It will be useful to share their experiences of the Big day!

Well done all who have had positive news on the scan front.

Frazzled, sounds like you had a v nice doc. and it all sounds v positive too.

I went into town today to spend my b'day money on something nice to wear tonight (dh taking me out to dinner). Everything I tried on either made me look about 7 months pregnant or like someones gran Came home empty handed and my stuff from figleaves hasn't arrived so I haven't even got nice new underwear to wear out tonight. Sorry just feeling v sorry for myself

on the plus side, just been flicking the tv channels and found an abba top 20 on TMF. Might have a boogie around the lounge to cheer myself up!

Jonesy68 - I was told I had to have my Nuchal scan done before 14 weeks. I remember with DS though that I was never offered one and you had to pay privately for a nuchal scan but this time I was encouraged to have it done for free.

*Dandy& not saying to lie.. Mine was a genuine scenario. A friend of mine fast tracked a scan because of the twinges she was getting...

I guess its all the red tape and beuracracy..

Its not easy that some things are avaialbe in some areas and not in others..

dandy as I said, I won't be trying anything under false pretenses so no worries there. I was only given my booking appt last week (had to wait 4 weeks for it) and she told me to call a number between 10-12 today to make the appt. I guess that's how it works around here. With DS I was given an appt for 12 weeks, like you but it seems to have all changed. They said they were very busy and that's the 1st appt they could give me. Sucks! . I reckon we'll end up having a private one nxt week.

re nuchal - the info from my local private clinic recommends careful timing:

""The nuchal scan can be performed between 11+1 and 13+6. To avoid disappointment if the pregnancy is slightly less/further advanced, it is better to perform the nuchal scan between 11+4 and 13+3.

If you decide to come outside this time frame it may not be possible to perform the test if the pregnancy is slightly less / further advanced.""

Thanks jools I will put this to my doc I think and see what he says. I will be exactly 13+6 on the date they've given me so perhaps that's just inside that.

What I find ridiculous is the charge for the private scans.. how can they justify the £100's of punds charged for them!
