Monkey am on my way.......

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 19:58

I kind of like the idea of DH having the op rather than me.....it will give him a small inkling into what the thought of sex after childbirth is like

Am I bad for thinking that?

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 19:59

Ceebs it is your turn!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 20:03

After DS it was 2.5 years for us, but that's a long story.

With DD it was about six weeks but the thought of it any sooner (bleeding aside)wasn't even on my radar......the spontaneously leaking boobs and permafatigue made sure of that.

and that was after a section...I can only imagine the fear after a natural delivery!

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 20:06

I totally agree that the DH should do it Daisy, it is apparently a much easier op with shorter recovery. My mum had a bad experience and that has completely put me off getting it... when the time comes and I realise a DC3 is complete fantasy.

coolkat · 15/10/2008 20:08

ceebee74 · 15/10/2008 20:14

Lol, just been moaning to DH about how I am out of my league with some of you on Scrabble (mentioning no names Monkey ) and he said 'well now you know how I feel when we play' - bless him, I think he has only ever beaten me once

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 20:26

Haha Ceebs I can my thrash DH too! (yes unbelievable I know!!)

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 20:37

My DH refuses to play scrabble with me as I always win. Likewise he always wins at backgammon, even though it was me who taught him to play

barbareebaa · 15/10/2008 20:44

Anyway have been trying to catch up with all the chat intermittently whilst cooking tea and having plumber round so forgive for my bad memory!!

cricri · 15/10/2008 20:44

Thanks for sorting out the text buddies Lacks. Ladybuzz and I have just exchanged texts so we've got the right numbers - this is all very exciting
Hana and Rutho Sounds as though you both had lovely last days in the office
Lolabella Glad scan went OK and everything is fine.
Autumnlady Good to see you Hurry up and get your internet sorted out at home so you can join in with the Scrabble games!
Ladybuzz Hope you were able to get in touch with doulas on here and the one your SIL knows to prepare your birth plan. Your MW sounds great though and hope all goes well tomorrow when you see her again.
I went to see the MW today and everything was fine. She's given me the paperwork for HB (including baby's health book ) so we're all set. Measuring spot on for dates and head is now definitely 3/5 engaged (she could only feel 2/5). Another AN appt at home scheduled for next Wednesday.
Back to Scrabble

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 20:45

Oh I love playing all of you at Scrabble so, so much. My DH won't play. I always play with my Mum but I only see her a few times a year. So this is brilliant!!
Babies babies next week next week! Woohoo!!!!

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 20:47

Hello AutumnLady! Have you got your laptop sorted out now? Hope all is well with you .

misdee · 15/10/2008 21:10

does anyone elses baby lay in exactly thr same position all the time? every time my midwife has checked baby positions its been the same with back running down theright hand side, bum under my ribs and legs on the left. she finds the heart beat in teh same spot every time.

LadyBuzz · 15/10/2008 21:11

Thanks everyone for listening today I am alot happier now and have a plan written and a list of questions for my MW. I've also been chatting with some lovely Doulas which has helped.
I have now got DH and SIL addicted to scrabble too, its so addictive!

ceebee74 · 15/10/2008 21:14

Misdee yes, mine has been in the same position (head down, back to my left as I look down and the feet under my ribs to the right) for weeks and weeks now.

But, since he moves so little anyway as he seems to be a lazy tyke, I am not really expecting him to move from that position - probably can't be bothered

misdee · 15/10/2008 21:15

ceebee, same. this one doesnt move much,. i think she has been using the placenta as a pillow lol.

Oblomov · 15/10/2008 21:19

Anyone noticed that Daisys and Monkeys dh's won't play scrabble with them.
Wonder why

Thanks alot daisy for text buddy. will text chocolategal soon.

vbab78 · 15/10/2008 21:19

Just found you guys after not being on for 2 days... went to the last thread and thought cool I have only got 3 pages to catch up on then bam new thread with 186 posts!

Hope everyone is ok and I will try and catch up but heres my update ...

  • Not sleeping very well at all.
  • Baby is hurting me big style when moving and wondered on visting the loo (sorry if TMI) today if baby was coming as it felt strange.
  • DS so far so good with bedtime as of Mon. Mon 7pm, Tues (at my mum's) 7.10pm as I went out with girlies and DH in bed with tonsilitis, Tonight 7pm .
  • Bought DS a laptop (VTECH childs one) from Argos in the Sale for £14.99 well impressed. Cant decide whether to put it away for x-mas or give it him from baby .
  • At Meadowhell (hall) today realised the 11 day old Atlan that I bought for DS and baby when he/she arrives had a rip (down the seam) on the seat! So whilst thinking I dont need this s**t I rushed home, found the receipt and went to Mothercare. They wanted to give me an exchange, wasnt sure about it but said ok, they had none in stock so gave me a refund . But this of course left me buggyless and stressed . I remembered I had seen a mamas and papas aria on offer at Argos for £79.99 inc an accessory pack. So thought I will have a look but probably just buy it.

I got the sale brochure to just double check that I get a free accessory pack when I realised it said ...

GET ALL THIS FOR £99.99 AND I DID (see profile pick just so happy) ...

  • M&P Aria Pushchair (EXCELLENT BY THE WAY) with raincover
  • FREE M&P Accessory pack - Cosy toe and changing bag.
  • M&P Prima Viaggio Infant Carrier (that fits on the Aria pushchair)
  • M&P Isofix base
  • M&P Accessories AGAIN - Cosy toe, changing bag and bigger raincover

So for £20 more than the pushchair alone I got loads!!! All fantastic and so impressed.

Now I have a Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix Infant Carrier - Black Reflection going spare that I will end up probably putting on ebay . In excellent condition and fits the Quinny Zapp or Buzz .

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 21:20

DS didn't move much...he was left side for aaaages and my stretchmarks were decidedly lop-sided.

DD was all over the place; but mostly breech or transverse till she turned at 38 weeks.

This one is head down, but sometimes I feel his bum on the right side and other times in the left side...at least I hope it's his bum; as I mentioned earlier my faith in my CMW isn't that strong.

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 21:25

Ooh Ooh how much r u selling ur Cabriofix for Vbab ????

Misdee mine is in same position as yours... most of time!!

misdee · 15/10/2008 21:25

vabab, thats a good deal. but i cant find it online at all. so well done!

vbab78 · 15/10/2008 21:26

Also forgot ... names - me and DH had decided on Wyatt Stephen for a boy. Stephen being my dad's name. WELL ... DH said he's not comfortable not having his dad's name in so would be Wyatt Stephen David Wymer.

Dont feel I can say "no" to DH but just not 100% comfortable with two middle names for baby boy, wonder if it all sounds too much especially with the surname that I will probably get shot for putting on the web and short of takes the shine off my point of having my dad's name.

What you think? I even suggested removing the Wyatt (even though I love it) but DH said "no". HELP!

ceebee74 · 15/10/2008 21:26

Vbab oh my god that is fantastic! I bought most of the stuff you mentioned for DS 2 years ago and it cost a hell of a lot more than £99.99!! I think the car seat alone cost that - am but v pleased for you.

Misdee our babies have obviously found a very comfy position and are not budging
