What lovely news to log onto - congrats to Merry and the twins and can't wait to see some piccies

Good luck to Pinky and Oblomov for this week too.

I'v got six days left till EDD (although i know that means nothing, i'm secretly hoping ). Pinkali my bub has been 2/5 engaged for a couple of weeks now and is not making for comfortable walking but i'm also having the twinges you describe

Vbab hope you are ok?

vbab78 · 23/10/2008 10:04

Morning ladies. Feel fine in myself and had a good night's sleep even though I didnt go until midnight!

Still got the same "wet" feeling and like something may come out. WEIRD. Sorry the best I can explain it. Nothing much else to report.

TMI ALERT - Hardly (if) anything on the pad this morning but I smelt it and it did smell sweet. Waters?

Only time will tell I guess. Seeing midwife this afternoon for checkup.

DS has slept 7.25pm until 9.30am . Normal is until 8amish but 9.30! Of course he is now full of beans. Poor me.

ChocOrange05 · 23/10/2008 10:04

Morning all

No news from vbab then??

Pinky good luck - the babies are really starting to flow now!

Pinkali DH and I are still in the same bed but the answer is go King Size - then its just like 2 beds!! Although you may have to invite him back into the marital bed if the baby goes overdue a la Saurus .

Right - off to make some scrabble moves and then have a bath. Who said maternity leave was going to be boring?!?!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 10:39

morning

same here; niggles, loo trips and dampness. Pelvis feels better today thanks to body stocking yesterday. I sent DH to the sofa the other night as well; I sleep much better on my own, and to be fair so does he!

Arsed up my MW appointment and should have seen her yesterday when I was bust quaffing cappucino and lemon and poppyseed muffins . Nearly every single appointment has been on a Thurs but it was Wed this week for some reason and it just didn't occur to me to check. So, she can't see me today or tomorrow but I got an appointment through for the hospital AN clinic for Monday so not too long to wait. Glad I found out before I left the house though as the school waddle has knackered me already.

vbab, hope it goes well with the MW today, and is DH home tonight?

ceebee, it was my DH playing santa last night . Trace's little girl has been very ill since she was born and has been in and out of hospital . This time she had been having a feeding tube fitted and has been poorly with an infection and it's triggered off another fit. She has these long fits that can last up to a day and they can't figure out why it's happening . She only had two cord vessels in utero instead of three and it's all connected in some way. We just wanted to send something
for Chloe and some pampery stuff for Trace and her DH and DS as it has been a very difficult time for them.

coolkat · 23/10/2008 10:48

Daisy that is lovely thing for you to have done.

Vbab hope your feeling better.

Need to whinge - had my worst nights sleep ever and feel like total shite today can't pull myself together, so tired I keep crying Had an upset tummy and feel so so sick. My snappyness has led to row with DH cue more tears. Why can men not realise when you are not on top form and be sympathetic. Feel like coming down with something as quite short of breath and had to take paracetamol in night as my head was banging.

Legs don't want to work and hurt

Booked to take DD to see HSM 3 later want to feel better than this.

Sorry for me post.

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 10:54

Pinkali just a quickie as I'm off out in 5 mins - midwife yesterday says 2/5 is engaged - they cound down, not up, so 3/5 is less engaged than 2/5.

This is not helping my pregnant maths brain.

Good morning everyone, sorry to hear about all the niggles and worries and bad night's sleep.

I was talking to my sister earlier and she says her husband who grew up on a farm knows when a woman is going into labour as he has lots of experience with cows

Anyway his criteria are:

a) feeling sick, upset stomach
b) bad tempered
c) wanting to go away somewhere quiet and be left alone

He reckons if you are experiencing all of these together then you are ready to go. My sister says he was right both times she went into labour so who knows? There may be something in it.

ChocOrange05 · 23/10/2008 10:56

So the mooing is relevent!!

suiledonn · 23/10/2008 10:59

Yes, moo away everyone - no difference between us and a herd of cows according to my BIL

sparkletoes · 23/10/2008 11:07

That is a really lovely thing to do Daisy, incidentally the stuff you posted to help my friend was great, I printed off pages from that website and gave her the tel nos. Am to hear that the BF support lady at the hospital has been less than helpful to her as I heard she was quite good. Thanks for the info tho if the hospital won't help then am sure it will...

for you Coolkat I know how frustrating it is when my DH asks what is the matter and I want to scream "I am PG and have all these hormones I don't know what to do with, stop asking that question!!!!" Hope you feel better for your musical later, hugs..

Ruthy I thought of you yesterday as I did the ironing as I came across one of DS's tops which has the slogan "Cuteasaurus". Thought it would be very relevant for your LO (if it is a boy!).

LOL Suiledonn! That is an interesting point! Only thing is I tick all those boxes quite a lot!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 11:09

oh, dear...read coolkats post and then suiledon's

Could this be it starting coolkat?

I can really relate to the being on my own somewhere quiet. The cupboard under the stairs is looking more and more appealing to me every day

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 11:12

and coolkat; no dancing in the aisles, you don't want your waters going in the cinema

DD is going for a nap, she is a grump after having some sort of night terror last night and not getting back to sleep for over half an hour. I want to crawl back to bed, but the hoovering waits for no MIL man!

coolkat · 23/10/2008 12:28

Just been out grazing on grass

Suiledonn well if his theory is right I have the upset tummy, sickness and am so tired I could go to bed and not speak to anyone! Poor DD how many times do I have to say I do not want to play top trumps!

So not looking forward to ths afternoon, wish we had not prebooked and paid for tickets

DH apologised in a round about way and then work phoned to see if he could go in for a few hours so off he went, to be honest no point him being here the mood I am in, assures me he will be back for cinema.

Anyhow the grass did not fill me up! and have put Jacket pot's in oven hoping it won't make me sick

suiledonn · 23/10/2008 12:38

Lol at coolkat and the grazing. When I think back though his description does fit very well to the way I felt the day before I had dd. I've been having the same feelings on and off the last few days but never together. Apparently he calls it 'sickening to calf' Lovely term.

MonkeyMargot · 23/10/2008 12:50

Suiledonn I feel like that most days at the moment!! ha ha...Can't wait to hear someone is actually in labour!!
MW just been round for home visit - head well engaged, all looking good for HB. As soon as I finish work (tomorrow), then I can feel ready for baby to arrive! Having lots of major last minute work stresses which I could really do without. Right - off into the office now - laters!

ChocOrange05 · 23/10/2008 12:52

BABY ALERT

Obs has had a baby boy by ECS. 7lb 3oz - and both fine!

suiledonn · 23/10/2008 12:53

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 12:57

durr the clue was in the E for emergency wasn't it? I hope all is well for her

suiledonn · 23/10/2008 12:57

Does anyone know what happened. How come it was an emergency CS in the middle of the night?

ChocOrange05 · 23/10/2008 13:02

Sorry Dozy I wasn't sure who Obs' text buddy was and thought everyone would want to know straightaway! Plus - I just couldn't keep it in!!

ceebee74 · 23/10/2008 13:07

I go to bed for a nap for a bit and another baby arrives Congratulations to Obs - what a good weight! No name yet??
