Not that it'll even BE November by the time we run out of space on this thread...

Dozy, it was in reference to my DH pestering me for conjugal rights this morning, the maniac - Lacks said she offered the BJ option to hers (a sympathy vote? what a nice lady she is) and he just laughed. Wish mine would.

So now you know, although you probably wish you'd never asked.

Incase you all hadn't noticed. I am feeling very naughty this afternoon.

For Oblomov:

By daisyandbabybootoo on Sat 14-Jul-07 21:11:18
foxy...mine were really bad after my op. mw showed dh how to do lymphatic drainage massage which made a huge difference.

get dp to oil up then wiggle all your toes in turn. then use the flat of his hand over the top of your feet from your toes to your ankles. do this for at least 5 mins, longer if possible. Then he should massage your calves and shin up to behind you knee, again for as long as possible. Your leg should be positioned with your knee lower than your feet, knee relaxed, not locked, and your dp should take your weight by holding your heel with his other hand.

i hope that makes sense...bit difficult to explain in words

it made a hooooge difference to my porkers!

Oblomov · 15/10/2008 16:30

Thank you Daisy.

LadyBuzz · 15/10/2008 16:30

Hey everyone,
I would like to run the following past you - I don't want to sound too pushy!

I am going to ask to be booked in for an elcs on the first available date after my due date (I think it could be the actual date TBH).
If I go into spontaneous labour before that date I would like:
To avoid cannulas and cathaters unless absolutely necessary
I want to know if there are ANY signs of high blood pressure, fetal distress or failure to progress.
I want to know when is the best time to go into hospital (and not to be laughed at and turned away for going too early)and what to expect when I get there CFM etc.

I also don't want to be left labouring once it is established for longer then 6-8 hours.
I also want to know if at any point they suspect a CS may be necessary and for them to just go ahead and do it instead of waiting to see how things pan out.
Is ay of this unreasonable do you think?

Obs BCG isn't offered routinely up here either.
Lacks please don't stop being you, between you and obs I think you have the lions share of action on here!!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 16:36

If it's naughtiness you're after, pop over to the "rude dreams in pergnancy thread"

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 16:38

That sounds completely fine to me, well considered, obviously put some serious thought into it LadyBuzz MonkeyM yes, Starship, I have that song on Singstar!!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 16:41

LadyBuzz, that sounds like a reasonable birth plan imo.

Is it too late for you to hire a doula? or get some advice from one? I'm sure if you put a shout out for Mars or Lulu or Klaw in childbirth they will be able to help. They are lovely ladies and when I was having horrible BH contractions with DD, Marslady emailed me her phone numbers so we could have a chat and she was ever so helpful and nice....which reminds me I need to send CS birth plans to MerryM

LadyBuzz · 15/10/2008 16:48

Thanks Lacks I think I will give that a go, My SIL knows a holistic Doula so I might give her a call also.

MerryMarigold · 15/10/2008 16:53

Oh yes, thanks Lacks, I had forgotten in amongst all the excitement.

Dh would happily have a BJ any day rather than the full works! Saurus, can't believe dh is hassling you after your scare - does he want this baby NOW or what? Just tell him it is highly likely to bring it on (better than putting garlic up your fanj.

What the squip is Strepp B. I saw a poster about it in the hospital (Are you aware of Strep B?) and thought: No, I am not and this poster is not helpful because it doesn't tell you anything.

My ds was offered BCG at 2 weeks but we live in E London.

Obs, I know what you mean about Kings area, it IS scary to drive round there. Not sure what it is though, as we live in a VERY (even more) ethnic area and the drivers are not that bad, but we drive to dh family past Kings and Brixton etc. and only the other day we were commenting how much nicer it is to drive round our way!

Oblomov · 15/10/2008 16:54

Sounds good to me too Buzz.
If your MW is as good as she sounds, she may be able to advise you on when to go in, what stage, so that you could for example, eliminate the not being turned away sentence.
Plus, she should be able to advise you of maybe a few more points, that you hadn't REALISED were important to you,/ realised that need to be noted down.

When are you due to see her next, run through this B Plan, with her ?

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 17:04

the tmi I was going to post was relating to post dates mercy shagging and the fact that I had a look at my nether regions with a mirror the other day.......DO NOT EVEN GO THERE is all I'll say; no wonder DH isn't keen

(that's looking at your own nether regions, not mine, obviously )

LadyBuzz · 15/10/2008 17:05

Obs she has asked me to drop into her clinic tomorrow so she can go through it again with me when I was slightly calmer then I was when she popped in today she is fab and I feel lucky to have her esp as my MW last time was really poor!

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 17:13

LOL Daisy, I am convinced DS arrived on time due to my issuing him with his eviction notice in the week leading up to Due Day. This involved foot massage around the corresponding cervix area (quick reflexology research on internet located it), curry/spicy food every night and the odd 'mercy' bonk. I thought I'd get in early with it all. Maybe it worked???!

LolaBella · 15/10/2008 17:28

Been to hospital today for a growth scan as MW concerned about size. Fundal height today measured 34 when i'm 38 weeks, but i'm pleased to report that it's all a load of rubbish!!
Scan confirmed that bubs is spot on for an average sixe baby and they predict currently he weighs 6.5Ibs and i'm just carrying well. Am so pleased, can finally relax and start enjoying my maternity leave.

Hana what lovely work colleagues

Ladybuzz really hope that you get your cs. Fingers crossed. Your wishes should really be taken into account

ruthosaurus · 15/10/2008 17:38

Sparkle I may start with the come-hither attitude when he's sorted out the bedroom and nursery so we've got somewhere to keep the little darling. Otherwise, nookie ban! Plus, the logistics are horrible - it'd be like getting romantic with a space-hopper. Although at the mo' I think he might be tempted.

I hear you're not supposed to get jiggy for 6 weeks afterwards either, so I'm going to have to do something before he starts howling at the moon. Poor sod.

OP posts:
ruthosaurus · 15/10/2008 17:56

Nice one, Lola! All that worry, eh?

PS I am still at work and every other bugger has gone home - Poor DH stuck in Hull and coming to get me as soon as he can. Meep.

Still, at least I'm getting some good ebaying in!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 17:56

great news lolabella, and you got to see your little one again, lucky you

Ladybuzz, glad you are feeling a bit calmer about things now; your MW sounds lovely. I have lost faith in mine over the course of my two pregnancies in her care. I have a recurrent pain on my side, just above my right hip. sometimes it's worse than others and it can feel quite tender if prodded. Every time I mention it she just shrugs. And I know of at least five women (myself included) she has failed to recognise as carrying a breech baby.

rutho a friend of mine is a HV, and she says the number of mums she sees who are pregnant by the time they have their six week check is unbelievable. And it's better to have at least tried before your six week check as well, so you can discuss any ishoos with your GP.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 19:14

right I have figured out the text buddies and will just list here rather than starting a new thread. Emails will follow when yahoo decides it is working again!

MerryMarigold (CS 22nd Oct) buddies MonkeyMargot (5th Nov)
Dozymare (CS 30 Oct) buddies Lackadaisycal (6th Nov)
CriCri (1st Nov) buddies LadyBuzz (6th Nov)
Mum2Becks (1st Nov) buddies Ruthosaurus (12th nov)
ChocOrange (1st Nov) buddies PinkAli (14th Nov)
Oblomov (CS 3rd Nov) buddies Chocolategal (15th Nov)
Pinkyminkee (3rd Nov) buddies Hanaflower (17th Nov)
AutumnLady (CS 3rd Nov) buddies Ceebee (19th Nov)
Vbab (3rd Nov) buddies Yorky (23rd Nov)
Coolkat (induction 3rd Nov) buddies Missygoo (23rd Nov)

Some of them are a bit close together, but we do seem pretty heavily loaded at the beginning of the month. The only one I can see that there might be a problem with is if Cricri is a few days late and Ladybuzz a few days early (provided you opt for a natural delivery LB) then they both might be out of the loop at the same time.

Emails will follow shortly with details. Can you please check the number is correct (ie that I have copied it correctly as I have number dyslexia) and do a quick test text to make sure things are tickety boo.

this is just getting sooooooo exciting, isn't it?

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 19:21

I was gonna say that Daisy! Apparently very common indeed for mums to be PG again at 6 week check !!

Have to say I didn't feel up to it for a wee while afterwards and by then had sorted out the ole contraception!

Not quite sure about it this time as we definately can't have another child so not so keen on the mini pill I got last time (it is not that reliable apparently but ok to use if BFeeding). Able to take the risk last time but can't this time!

Yes Ruthy it was not so easy but somehow my grim determination and a bit of imagination got me through! Seem to remember hanging half off the bed... Ok TMI.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 19:45

DH is going to see the Vet as soon as I've delivered DC3

Any more for text buddies?

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 19:49

Did consider that Daisy but just can't bring myself to do it, what if changed mind/circumstances changed... DC3 ruled out for now but don't want to lose option altogether quite yet! Oh I am a bag of quandries! (sp)

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 19:55

Lacks thanks for sorting out text buddies. good effort! Also forgot to pass on my congrats to your DH for wangling gardening leave at such a critical juncture - good on him!!
LOL at the "mercy shagging". I've been lucky in that respect - DH hasn't demanded too much of me. Did have a cheeky sunday morning jobby actually, wasn't too bad considering...
Any road up - I am actually IN MY PYJAMAS at 7:50pm. Have just eaten a fish pie which I prepared earlier - it was bloody fantastic. It's akin to baby food - you don't have to chew it much. Bit like scrambled egg and porridge, 2 of my other faves.
LadyB - so glad you've got a sensible birth plan sorted and a nice MW to deal with. Hope you feel more sorted now!
LOL also at Lacks's DH going "To the Vet's". tee hee.
Now - come on ladies - scrabble!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/10/2008 19:56

Given that this DC wasn't planned and we were stopping at two , a change of mind isn't likely. Even if we were to divorce, DH swears he wouldn't want any more children and at nearly 40, I'm getting a bit past it anyway

He was meant to have it done after DD, but never got around to making the appointment.....oops

ceebee74 · 15/10/2008 19:56

Daisy thanks for the text buddies As for TMI, me and DH did the deed the morning I went into labour so maybe there is something in the old wives tale.....

Ladybuzz that plan sounds really good and well-thought out and your MW sounds lovely!!

Iirc, it was about 4 weeks after DS was born that me and DH did the deed - and that was after DH nagging for about 2 weeks - unfortunately he doesn't understand the concept of 'no sex' or 'I'm not in the mood'!

Anyway, he is off to the Vets aswell - although we have compromised and said it will be in about 12 months time from now (after the cricket season fgs!) We are both perfectly happy that this little man will complete our family
