Not that it'll even BE November by the time we run out of space on this thread...

Aghh - can't keep up! Just bookmarking new thread. It is VERY tame for us (foul-mouthed bunch that we are).

Heartmum2Jamie · 14/10/2008 16:22

Book marking this too!

I like the new title, but what about those of us who are trchnically due THIS month but like it here?! It is a little tame for us, but I am sure we can soon fill this up with waffle and then have a title to do with garlic fanjos (am ROFLMAO btw!)

Tinkerisdead · 14/10/2008 16:23

MummyNic · 14/10/2008 16:55

Hi all. Just back from the GP and he was no help with the CTG result, the last time he looked at one was about 25 years ago apparently!!!

Got another CTG tomorrow at 1030 and the GP has asked me to get a blood test done while at the hospital - I have loads (and I mean loads) of little blood spots (like small pin pricks / blood blisters but not raised) all over my tummy. I've had them a few months but they've really mutliplied so I showed him and he came out with a really long name of what they might be and wrote out a blood test thingy. Hopefully this is just something that affects me and not LO.

Cyril is measuring spot on, 37 (37 weeks tomorrow) and, as the GP was listening to his heart with one of those old fashioned ear pieces, he (Cyril) shoved an elbow into it - quite bizaare!!!

Blood Pressure is good though.....

chocolategal · 14/10/2008 16:56

welcome back drs wife !

i have a thirst all the time....... and you've just mentioned ribena and i have none

away to shops....its thats bad!!!!

cricri · 14/10/2008 17:00

Love the new thread title but agree it's a bit tame. Never mind, we can use garlic in the next title! My doula told me about the garlic up the fanjo tip when I had to do my GBS swab but couldn't quite bring myself to do it She suggested threading cotton through the clove of garlic for easy removal...
Betti Sorry to hear that your GBS test came back positive and the change of plan regarding the birth. As you say though, baby's health is more important. One of my NCT friends tested positive for GBS and will have to have the IV antibiotics etc as well.
Drswife Good to see you Hope you manage to get your baby to turn. Get scrubbing the floor - that was the tip from my MW!
Obs Sorry to hear about the cyst - I've had those before and they're very unpleasant. Hope the antibiotics do the trick quickly.
I'm currently being thrashed at Scrabble by both MM and Obs

ceebee74 · 14/10/2008 17:11

Just bookmarking this - will check in later once DS is in bed

Tinkerisdead · 14/10/2008 17:16

hmmm my floors do need cleaning, and they are massive. i reckon i'll try that tomorrow!

ChocOrange05 · 14/10/2008 17:27

DrsWife come on down to Epsom - the nice man at the train station shop knows me so well I don't even need to ask for a Strawberry Ribena anymore - we just exchange pregnancy pleasantries and 80p!

Also - check out this thread, we have had a birth!

Tinkerisdead · 14/10/2008 17:35

ooohhhhh yeahhhhh a baby at last! makes it so real doesnt it. i darent come to epsom, i'd have to visit my dad and he's annoying me. keeps calling to tell me about my half sister who is expecting a baby in feb. goes on and on and I wanna yell..yes i know ive got one coming out next month you idiot!
I cant get a strawberry ribena anywhere!!

ChocOrange05 · 14/10/2008 17:41

DrsWife you can come to Epsom just to visit me and I can take you out for a Strawberry Ribena!

MummyNic · 14/10/2008 18:32

Just managed to read my notes and I have a Petechial Rash which is like the meningitis rash - doesn't go when pressed. If you Google it then it comes up with everything from meningitis to leukaemia and Vit K def. Also it can be 'one of those things' which is the most likely in my case as I'm sure any problems would have come up with all the blooming tests I've had!!!

So despite the gloomy results on Google I'm keeping happy about it as I feel reasonably well and don't have any other symptoms.

Ban Google!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 18:41

mummynic, when DD was really porly back on May, she had a rash like that as well.....can also be very common in babies ont the thraot and face due to forceful vomitting (as in her case). Scared the bejesus outta me at the time, I never knew it could the result of anything other than meningitis.

hi DrsWife......was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you were at.

I am feeling surprisingly spritely this evening and have even done the washing up and tidied a bit in the kitchen! DS will be pleased as he usually comes home to four days of it piled high

ruthosaurus · 14/10/2008 18:43

Hey, Mummynic, you sound like my mw, who wants to ban the health encyclopedia on NHS Direct... Hope all is fine (I bet it is, the internet is a terrible thing)

I can't wait for my tea (it'll be ready in about ten minutes) so I'm sat here eating glace cherries (only sweet thing in the house that I can snack on) and trying not to get syrup on the keyboard. DH is upstairs doing DIY, yay!

I would personally kill or at least maim for strawberry ribena right now... (New thread title? Hmm.)

A friend linked this on another thread.....

only in America!!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 18:51

pmsl at glace cherries rutho.

I've just had a dark chocolate and strawberry mini magnum (on bogof at sainsbos)....blardy deelicious, but being mini ones just aren't big enough.....and I promised DS he could stay up till his Dad gets home, so can't sneak another one till later!!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 18:56

STOP PRESS

Would anyone like two tickets for the Baby Show at Earls' Court this weekend?

One of my June 07 buddies has two but she can't make it.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 19:06

oh, and another thought on hospital bags.....

LANSINOH nipple cream.

I just dug my tube out from the baby box and it's gone solid so I need a new one and it reminded me to tell y'all to get some in readiness for those initial nipple problems

misdee · 14/10/2008 19:13

lack, would love to go but feel i would be hobbling about too much

MummyNic · 14/10/2008 19:34

Thanks Lacks and Rutho - sometimes it's useful to read about why you're ill but if I did that in this case I'd be planning my funeral! Thankfully there are other reasons as well as 'no obvious cause', liver, kidney, thyroid etc but they're not well documented, unlike meningitis and leukaemia.

Wanted to go the the Baby Show - I went to the NEC one in May - it was great but I was too nervous to buy much as I was only just 3 months gone. Too fat to do it now and would hate the train journey up (too late to arrange parking).

Ooo, nipple cream, that's something I haven't bought yet.... Will add it to the list - cheers Lacks

Pinkyminkee · 14/10/2008 19:40

mummynic my DS had that rash- he had a funny reaction to his first jabs, his legs went purple and he was left with that rash, I had to stay overnight in hosp with him. Turned outr to be 'one of those things',as you say. . Not very pleasant though.

ceebee74 · 14/10/2008 19:43

Evening all

Am officially knackered today - does anyone else find their energy levels are up and down? I had loads of energy on Sunday but today, I am completely zonked - didn't even give DS his bath cos I just couldn't be bothered!

Have caught up on the thread (and the old one) but have no chance of actually remembering what everyone said but a few things that spring to mind are:

Saurus DS was also a 'Haribo baby' and it hasn't done him any harm - although it might explain his hyperactiveness and fondness for Haribo sweets out of the womb I was getting through at least half a big bag a day when pg! Plus whoever told you the second pg was easy was lying!! Second baby maybe as you know what I am doing but certainly not the second pg!

Sparks also love the name Luke but am also biased - just think, if you used it for this baby, both my DS's would have your DS's names as middle names as I am planning on using Jake as the middle name for this one

I know there was loads more that I was going to put but my mind really has gone blank - DH being away is not helping as I am having to do all his jobs around the house aswell as my usual ones - so glad I am not at work tomorrow.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 19:53

DS was a Honey-nut shredded wheat baby.....he loves all things honey as well as healthy breakfast cereals like bran flakes and shreddies.

DD was a Galaxy baby and loves all things chocolate. It was one of her first recognisable words ...or should that be

This one is a Maltesers baby.....we'll see if he has a penchant for all things malty and chocolatey in due course!

MerryMarigold · 14/10/2008 19:55

Hi guys

Been off in hospital for last couple of days. Big dramas on Sunday night/ wee hours of Monday after my miserable posts on here! Had to call ambulance. Couldn't stand, thought was going to faint, violent vomiting (first time EVER in this pregnancy), bad sweating, babies distressed and kicking hard, low blood pressure (70/40 in ambulance, the weird things you remember after!) and low temp (35deg). Totally panicked about babies. Anyway, all is ok with them, was scanned and monitored in hospital and they are doing great. With hindsight think I maybe had inner ear problem as had bad earache all night. Felt better by yesterday pm, but had to wait a whole day to get out of there! DOH! Gonna be back on the same ward in a week's time, so I guess it was goid practise run for me. Also got some more Piriton and hydrocortisone for rash.

Welcome back docswife. Good to seeya. How dare you post on other threads?!

Have I missed anymore babies? Obs, what is this about a cyst?

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 19:55

ceebee, I think when I have an energy fuelled day I tend to overdo it a bit and then have the zonked thing for a few days afterwards.

I have resigned myself to a few weeks of slothdom now though
