Monkey, I may still try the garlic option as nothing else seems to work! Would follow Lacks' BJ suggestion except I gag a lot at the mo...

Sorry for TMI

Daisy what am I supposed to do re swollen feet, post birth? You said dh lympatic drainage masssage ?
Dh is a total sweetie. But I think a foot rub is the best he can do. Lymp drain mass is asking a bit much.
Should I book myself into somewhere ? What do I need ?

By the way, I went to my final AN meeting today - there has only been 3 and I missed the first one becasue I was in hospital. But, did you know that babies are now offered a BCG injection prior to discharge?
Also, HV, who visits us within 2 weeks in Surrey, does a new Hearing test that has only just been bought in.

Both these things are apparently new.
So does my son need BCG. Discuss ?

misdee · 15/10/2008 15:42

afternoon, my you lot are chatty atm

Obs no idea about bcgm hasnt been mentioned here but i am in herts, not london. i know some areas are 'higher risk' than others.

Just got back from midiwfe. evrything normal as per usual. but baby head has started to engage. which is what i had thought as not as much pressure under my ribs. also several people commented that bump seemed lower earlier this week.

Need to hang on for another 2 weeks, preferably 3 weeks, for homebirth.

I am painting again tonight hopefully, and might get the babys room finished at the weekend.

well, thats what I am saying. Its SURREY, ya ya, don't ya know. Neighbours with Roman Abramovich, ya ya. Is it because we are near Heathrow ?
Yet Denmark Hill - Kings, backs onto, well, lets be polite and say that ethnic diversity very high. My 20 stone dh bricks himself driving to Kings. Sorry if this is not very PC. But how come Kings has not mentioned BCG. Most of the ladies I meet at Kings are not British. So I can't understand why Surrey is so up on this. Very odd.

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 15:52

Obs Is the BCG the thing we got at school, where you got a big lump/scar on your arm? Is TB relating to immigration? Am i being exceptionally stupid? Discuss.

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 15:53

Sorry - Related to immigration

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 16:01

That sounds more promising for you LadyBuzz, your MW sounds like a real star!

MerryM I am not clued up enough on this to be able to offer advice for your situ, the others seem to know their stuff tho. I have posted on your name thread tho...

HanaF your colleagues sound fab, mine were too, could hardly work at my desk for balloons, tiny metallic sprinkly things everywhere (god the cleaners would have loved that)!! At least this is your last early start day, hope you can wind down a bit now before your actual finish...

Rutho aww your colleagues sound fab too, end is nigh now! Think my job is under 'threat' at moment too (main client is a bank!) but you know what nothing I can do about it so.... sand in my ears!

Ceebs you are right once you start not so bad to get on with jobs. I did end up going back to bed late am for a bit but hell I must have needed it!

Rosa a pedicure/massage sounds fantastic right now! (considers booking one for Saturday...)

Oblomov · 15/10/2008 16:01

Yes Monkey.
Immigration. TB. Areas of London where Tb rife ? Surrey proximity to Heathrow and Gatwick maybe ?
Lets have a tete-a-tete before I write my PHD Dissertation on the subject

ruthosaurus · 15/10/2008 16:05

Hi Obs, Hana and Monkey - I think mine gets offered too as my postcode is in a TB-high area.

MonkeyMargot · 15/10/2008 16:13

And having a glam dh, is just .... well, takes the biscuit and IS JUST NOT ON

Oblomov · 15/10/2008 16:24

ChocO on BCG,
or ChocO on Bj's ?
Later far more interesting.
Ha ha.

sparkletoes · 15/10/2008 16:24

Haha Monkey I now have that song from the 80s in my head! (was in the film Mannequin I think..)

Yay for gross out Wednesday, anymore for anymore... Can't believe we are still talking about the garlic fanjos! That could make the news... "Midwifes report that a considerably large amount of women who gave birth end Oct/Nov had garlicky fanjos"

My DS got the hearing test at hospital, it was great as it sent him to sleep! The lady who did the test said it has that affect on many babies! I asked if I could buy/borrow the machine...
