[outs kettle on whilst waiting for news on babies]

hows everyone feeling?

i am still not feeling 100% right. i am still twingey on and off, but again not strong enough. keep sending dh into mini=-panics though when i have to breathe through a short pain lol.

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 15:21

Hi Missdee, sorry you're still feeling crappy. Are you maybe in labour? Are you sure?

Lacks, good luck with the head doctor; please can you take my head with you as well to see if there's anything in it?

By the way, my last thread title sucked ass as I played it too safe, so please can y'all put your thinking caps on and start coming up with really yechy or funny titles? We only have about another 150 posts left on this one! You can tell we're starting to go on maternity leave as its taken a mere 8 days to get this far.

Got to go, just sneezed and now I need to go and check to see if I've weed. Please kill me, the indignity will if you don't. I've had a reasonably good life and at least the house is in a respectable state for the wake...

wasnt in labour on monday, cervix was firmly closed (when they found it after much searching and KY jelly lol). i just hate this uncomfortableness at this stage. everything seems like so much effort.

i usually walk the kids to school. there is a lady who lives in the same cul de sac as us, left at the same time on foot as me in the car this morning. because of the one way systems and roundabouts i have to negoiate at that time, she got there ages before us. i hate not being able to walk 5mins or more.

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 15:30

I know what you mean - I hate it when old women barge past me in shops as I am too slow even for them to wait for.

Fuck, I have GOT to stop sneezing! Back in a min.

Just checking to see if there is any news on Merry but not yet. I hope she's not had to wait until the end of the day!
Another baby on the way though - good luck Pinky and hope all goes well
Just had 2 NCT friends round with their new babies for lunch and it's really made me want to meet mine now. I have a mw appt this afternoon so hopefully she'll be able to tell me a bit more. Have had bad lower back pain all day but I'm now analysing every twinge so I guess it's nothing.
Misdee and Pinkali sorry to hear you're both feeling rubbish.
Lacks Good news about your birth plan
Can't remember anything else so apologies to everybody I've missed...

Dozymare · 22/10/2008 15:55

Still no news???!! have rushed all the way to school and back, bypassing the park to see if there is any news on "our" twins and of course their amazing mummy Merrymarigold

Gah, nothing............

Off to make dinner now, will try and keep off until after the witching hour...

(and for those of you with no kids, that is the time between 5-7pm when you are in a mad frenzy feeding, bathing, reading stories and putting to bed!)

C - Ya in the "street" way of monkey margot!

barbareebaa · 22/10/2008 15:57

Ooh hello!
No news on the twins? I'm going to see Merry on Friday - how exciting
So do we also have Obs and Pinkeeminkee babies this week too? It's all becoming ver real!!
I am 37 weeks now and have had no feelings of engagement or any kind of show... t'would be nice to think something might be happening.
Rutho Glad your mw appointment went well! You have engagement? Is good
Lacks Sorry about your accident yesterday but glad Virgil is o.k.
Misdee I know what you mean about everything being so much effort. I think I understand how frustrated my mum feels now (she's 75 ) and she complains that she still feels 35 inside.

Ho hum. Cheery!

Bless you Rutho!!

sparkletoes · 22/10/2008 16:06

But Lacka if virgil doesn't look like a Finlay then you HAVE to consider Samuel!!!

My own min-min, fanjo whatever you want to call it has been feeling very crampy and tight today but as MW confirmed head not yet engaged I am thinking this is just good old pre-labour work out time for it yes??

Rutho thread titles: as far as I remember there was some talk the time before last about not being too offensive incase others felt obliged to barge on to our thread and comment... Personally this risk does NOT bother me at all (anyone else bovverrd??) so all feel free to be as gross/way out and politically incorrect in your title ideas as you like!! Hana mentioned garlic fanjos, the twins and er something else I have forgotten for our next title so if you will....

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 16:37

Something about at least all these babies will be vampire-proof with all the garlic we've been, erm, getting through. Hmm, needs a little work.

Barb, dunno, it's a mixed blessing. Yeah, you can breathe again but oh, the waddle...

I FINALLY have my date, its only taken 3 weeks . I am booked in for a CS on Tuesday 4th November in the afternoon sometime, unless baby decides to put in a appearence before then, I'm not holding my breath for that though! I'm so excited I can't believe it will all be over in 13 days!
No news from Merry yet?

mum2becks · 22/10/2008 16:47

Back from MW and was expecting news on the twins arrival, hope MM hasnt had to wait all day!!

MW appt all ok, baby still quite high up and nowhere near engaging yet so doesnt look like will be arriving any time soon!! Although I think i have read on here that 2nd babies dont necessarily engage before labour starts?? MW also wants to see me again next week just to make sure it is staying head down after the breech worry a couple of weeks ago!!!!!

Yorky · 22/10/2008 16:49

What - no babies yet!
Going to get DS from nursery now and was hoping for news before he bans me from the computer, or tries to help!

Its going to be a busy week, 4 on the books and its not November till next week! I thought I was impatient - booked reflexologist weekly from 37wks! May all be hocus pocus but I enjoy it!

Thanks for all the welcome backs, feeling much better today, as long as he sleeps again tonight I should be OK.

As for names, where do you draw the line between names you can't inflict on a child and honouring people? DS is named after my grandad, but DHs grandad was Stanley and I can't bring myself to do that to a child! (Sorry if anyone is called that)

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 16:52

WOO, Buzz, that's ace news! Well done! Okay, I'm not sure I want a c-section but I would LOVE to know the day my baby is going to arrive. For a start, I could get organised.

I bet you're counting the hours now!

woohoo, I am officially less mental than I was ...but that might be the drugs . Have worked up a perinatal care plan so the maternity hospital know about my depression and what is being done to treat it. My psych was very funny, full of apologies for getting me to come to them as they usually do home visits this late on but are short staffed so couldn't. He then went on to say everyone he's seen at the hospital who has been within a few weeks of their due date has gone into labour the very next day!!!! I hope I let him down as DH is going back to Lincs this evening after the kids are in bed.

Had a major BH in the car on the way back; made for very difficult driving as I couldn't lean forwards to see past parked cars at junctions! I'm thinking I need to stop driving sooner rather than later!

Very painful right under my bump this afternoon but I think that might be from my dance with the stair gate yesterday.

sorry you're still feeling rubbish misdee; it gets harder with each pregnancy doesn't it?

dozy...you "rushed" back from the school run; "rushed".....what sort of strange concept is that

now that you can hide threads there is less chance of anyone being offended as those that might be can just hide it and hopefully not feel the need to comment. Although we had a few rucks on my June 07 thread which were quite funny ..one of mine got a few ewwwwws and it was only "bounce on your ball till your bum goes numb or it gets so sweaty that you just fall off". What's so bad about that I ask?

MonkeyMargot · 22/10/2008 17:00

:::::::::::NEWS ALERT::::::::::::::
MerryMarigold has had her twins!!! Girl arrived first, 5lb 13, then boy at 6lb 5. She said all was very painless!!! No names yet.. Will keep you posted.
Sorry - haven't had chance to read thread yet.

I know a stanley who is about four and is a mindee of DSs old childminder. She thinks it's an old man's name as well and calls him Oliver instead .

I quite like Seth, but DH wasn't so keen.

Having watched Traffic Cops the other night and saw the policemen taking the piss out of people with "famous" names and having a right old laugh at their expense, there is NO WAY we are naming this child Samuel Lawrence

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 17:04

cross posts.....

WooHooo indeed

Congratulations and Celebrations and welcome to the world Mini Marigolds

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 17:10

OMG - congrats, Merry Aww, babies! [gush]

See, Baby Saurus, well-behaved babies come out instead of staying in and kicking their mummies! Watch and learn, young one.

Oh, I love calling them the mini-Marigolds! Bless!
