Not that it'll even BE November by the time we run out of space on this thread...

see it as an opportunity Margot to train him up in all aspects of parenting, especially colour co-ordinating and matching outfits and teaching him the difference between clothes and pyjamas......speaking from experience here

Poor Obs, I hope she is OK. This pregnancy has just been awful for her. Still the end is in sight

Yorky · 22/10/2008 21:29

So true Lacka, the +side to him working away.
MM, you and me both, although DH can only have a couple of days for the birth he is adding his paternity leave to his Christmas stand down and his extra leave for not being able to take any while on this course, he'll be under foot around for 6 or so weeks eventually. DH overload! I'll start to recognise him again!

sparkletoes · 22/10/2008 21:37

Sorry Ceebs I was just waiting for you to finish work as I get impatient waiting for the next move!!! I also have a problematic laptop that can't cope with more than 3 games at once maximum!! (infact 2 is best)

I will log on in due course! Playing the Monkey is obviously good training (well for some of us )!!

My fanjo pains have continued and I feel really sick, think will call it a night too.

Night all lovelies xx

I'll have DH for nearly six weeks as well, but he is sooooooo good with tghe DCs and the housework, I can almost forgive him

vbab78 · 22/10/2008 22:11

TMI ALERT - I have started this eve keep feeling reaLly wet down there and when i go to the loo no show but the wee feels reall warm (very different to normal).

Do you think things are starting for me OR just me being paranoid?

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 22:20

vbab, do you think your waters have broken?

Can you put a pad on as the MWs can check whether it is amniotic fluid or not. Try not to worry, NICE guidelines say you have 96 hours from waters breaking to delivering the baby.

Amniotic fluid can smell quite sweet and chemically, not like wee at all.

Are you OK?

vbab78 · 22/10/2008 22:25

thanks lacks. I feel fine. Just that weird (not normal) "wet" sort of feeling down there. Not noticed any smell at all to be honest. Not thought about it.

Will put pad on just in case.

Working my way through a loaf of bread at the moment having toast with marmalade.

Not felt baby much tonight, normally do. Normally goes from nothing to mental (bit like me ).

Seeing midwife tomorrow PM so if nothing happens I will mention it to her and see if anything.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 22:28

Is it just a trickle? It could be a hindwater leak which can often seal itself and isn't too much to worry about.

Defo tell the MW tomorrow. Typical that this would happen the one night that DH is away!!

vbab78 · 22/10/2008 22:33

would just panic him and turn out to be nothing if he was here.

Baby has now typically started moving sine my last post. Cant remember are they meant to slow down or stop movements prior to labour?

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 22:40

afaik they slow down a bit, but don't quote me on that. Try and get some rest and hopefully it'll stop when you lie down!

Is there anyone close by should the need arise and DH isn't back yet?

vbab78 · 22/10/2008 22:42

my mum and dad live 2 mins by car away so no worries. just would want DH with me.

will now leave you to your eve and lie down. thanks again.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 23:02

take care and try not to worry

Yorky · 23/10/2008 07:49

i think next thread title should incorerate squealchy pants in some way.

had another rough night. loads of l;ittle tightenings waking me up. loads of loo calls. and an air of dampness.

pregnancy is not glamerous at all!

MonkeyMargot · 23/10/2008 09:01

Morning oh squelchy ones!
Agree with misdee - next title should include some/all of the following:
Squelchy Pants
Garlic Fanjos
Leaking Boobies
"Our" Twins......

MonkeyMargot · 23/10/2008 09:06

Lacks and yorky - thanks for the advice on handling DH being around, a lot. I'm sure I'll be grateful for the help, if I can get him to do anything useful that is. Even at 38 weeks PG, he expects the same standard of service he has always received (I blame myself - made a rod for own back). I did explain to him last night that 3 course dinners etc will abruptly come to an end post-baby, and that HE will have to cook. (Well, warm up my frozen batch-cooking).
Shouldn't moan, he's brilliant in other, less practical ways. He is very funny

ceebee74 · 23/10/2008 09:18

Morning all - just checking no more babies appeared overnight

Vbab how are you this morning?

Lol at the squealchy pants - the joys of pregnancy eh??

Daisy was your DH playing 'Father Christmas' last night?? Have just seen the thread and that is so very sweet and lovely of you all

Pinkali37 · 23/10/2008 09:23

Sauraus I'm due 14th Nov. Is yours fully engaged? Mine on monday was only 2/5. I keep having very slight crampy feelings at the top of my bump and then twinges down below ifykwim ...

Question to all you 2nd, 3rd timers a show... SORRY IF TMI... do you know you've passed it or could you go for a wee and miss it or would it be there when you wiped your minnie?

Pinkali37 · 23/10/2008 09:29

I have an admission. The other night at the start of becoming over tired because I might as well not bother going to bed and just sleep on the toilet to save all the hassle, anyway I made up the spare bed and DH has been sleeping there ever since. He must be sleeping well as he is waking me up at 7.30am when he used to get woken up by me at 4am and he'd get up to through to the office which made him soooo tired throughout the day. I just keep saying that so long as he has slept ok that will make me happy as I can't have him falling asleep when i'm in labour! Anyway, married for 18 months and we're already in seperate beds

LadyBuzz · 23/10/2008 09:29

Misdee Lol at 'air of dampness' can we fit that in too?

misdee · 23/10/2008 09:39

lol if you want.

am a hormonal tired wreak today, amd blubbing at avril lavienges 'slipped away' whilst listening to it on dh ipod.

pinkali, with my 1st pregnancy i slept in the nursery loads as couldnt get comfortable when dh was home with me (he worked nights 5 nights a week). i am considering getting a single bed again in the babys room so i can kip in there for night feeds etc. i sleep better on my own, mainly due to dh being in hospital for a year, then in a seperate room for another year when waiting for his transplant.

sparkletoes · 23/10/2008 09:44

Pinkali I just gave our spare bed to charity yesterday as we need the space for DC2 and let me tell you it was a HARD decision! I have had insomnia probs for almost 10 years and (the option of) that bed was a god send to me. I didn't like the fact that DH and I slept in different beds some nights but TBH it was a complete necessity for a while. At end of day if we hadn't had the bed it would have been the sofa so essentially still sleeping elsewhere!

Your situ seems slightly different tho with you being heavily PG! I really wouldn't worry to much about the separate beds issue and just be glad you have option. It will prob come in handy when DC arrives at first too (ours did).
