ChocOrange05 · 22/10/2008 17:16

Great news from Merry - can't wait to hear names and see pics!!! Its all getting so real!!

suiledonn · 22/10/2008 17:21

Great weights too. No wonder the poor thing was feeling huge at the end. Her ds is heavier than my dd was, and she was all on her own.

Pinkali37 · 22/10/2008 17:22

YIPPEE.. wow they were good sizes! Congratulations MM... Oh how wonderful... and who will be next??!?!?! Can't wait for names and photos.

p.s. does she need to go onto birth announcement thread?

Does anyone know how quickly a baby can engage if it is your first? mine was 2/5 engaged on Monday.

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 17:31

Mine's the same, Pinkali - that's engaged! Dunno if it makes a diff how long afterwards it comes tho'. When are you due, again?

Heartmum2Jamie · 22/10/2008 17:35

Wow! Congratulations Merry!!! What wonderful news and fab weights for the twins.

I have finally had my most embarrassing moment of my pregnancy so far.....I coughed and pee'd myself. NEVER pee'd myself before. Thank goodness I was at home, upstairs by myself. Wish I could get rid of the cough, just to make sure it doesn't happen again.

misdee · 22/10/2008 17:38

CONGRATULATIONS MM such good weights, cant wait to find out their names!!

Pinkali, i engaged early with all mine, tbh it doesnt really mean much sadly.

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 17:38

HM2J, it happens when I sneeze so no more pepper or dusting for me...

I am comforting myself by reading the thread from last night - did you see the link? Now, that's embarassing!

DH is on his way home with Grazia, Total Film and Haribo! Okay, he's a bloody slow decorator, but a good bloke.

Yay! Congratulations to all the marigolds.
12lbs of baby, scary thought, bet she feels better now they're here

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 18:03

HM2J, it was the funniest (and grossest) post-birth story... I made DH read it and tea nearly came out of his nose.

Here it is!

missygoo · 22/10/2008 18:04

Yipee! Congrats to merry
those are good weights. They think that my LO will be about the same as her DS too, so, WOW, that she managed to make and carry boths those babies for so long!

I am sure my DD was engaged early too. I think they did tell me that it happens earlier with first pregnancies, but also agree that it makes little difference to due dates, or arrival times, IYSWIM
DD was bang on time but I think she was engaged by 37 weeks

I wish I was 37 weeks. I am hating this inbetweenee period where, if I go earlier than 37 they will ship me off. Or if we cannot be shipped, baby might be shipped after the birth, whilst I have to stay behind, or follow. All of which are awful prospects, if it is a 5 hour journey (even 2 would be bad enough). Though if it was both of us, it would be another plane trip for me, but giving birth in a strange place instead

I am watching every twinge too, trying not to, but can't help it

Then there is the due date.
I am sure I am due 23rd, cos of my dates, which I was watching like a hawk in my attempts to get preggers. they say 27th cos of my scan.
So, when we get to the 2nd Nov, I am sure I am now 37 weeks, they will say not, until the 6th.
yikes!
I will just dig my heels in and refuse to fly!

Sorry, I came on to congratulate merry and instead did a me me me

missygoo · 22/10/2008 18:07

Oh ruth that story is just so funny!!
It's the way she tells em!
Oh no I am getting it all wrong, this guy was old with white hair, a bit fat.
Am I making sense to anyone!????

LackaDAISYcal · 22/10/2008 18:08

tommy cooper?
frank carson?

missygoo · 22/10/2008 18:10

Frank Carson!
That's the one!

Cheers daisy

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 18:18

Missy I think that comes under the heading "normal for pregnancy"! I keep having conversations with DH that start "You know that film with that guy in it who was in that thing with the girl that came out the other year?".

It's a bloody good job he understands me.

And Lacks got it straight away (I got Tommy Cooper but not Frank Carson), so I reckon you're fine.

Yorky · 22/10/2008 18:22

Isn't it reassuring talking to people wh use the same hormonal language!

And I know what you mean about waiting for the magic number 37 to come round missygoo, is a day or 2 really to make that big a difference?
Its like the 1st birthday and magically honey and cows milk become safe!

coolkat · 22/10/2008 18:24

Congrats Merry on the safe arrival of your our twins

Off to put DD to bed as I she is very tired! and I have some sweets I do not want to share
