Not that it'll even BE November by the time we run out of space on this thread...

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 23:12

I'm sure I read stuff on here about creamy/yellowy snot before suiledonn and one of my june PN buddies had the same for a couple of weeks beforehand. I'll ask tomorrow.

sparkletoes · 21/10/2008 23:13

LOL at that thread Misdee!

Ouch Lacka that sounded very sore! Hope you are ok, good you are going to get checked...

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Pinky!

Hugs for AutumnLady, hang in there end is nigh!

Glad you have taken the weight off your mind over feeding Vbab, totally agree that it is the mother's choice and am that anyone should feel pressured - whichever way they choose. Incidentally don't think the pressure is limited to those who bottle fed, I was once told that my decision to BF was 'disgusting' in front of a room of other mums and my BFriend got endless hassle from her own Gran & other relatives about BF! In the end we are all in this together, just trying to do our best for our kids (and retaining our sanity!).

Night all xx

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 23:14

yay for your DH suiledonn; sometimes it just takes them a little bit longer to "get" it (like 9months isn't long enough, lol!)

are you going for irish/celtic names?

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 23:22

Thanks sparkle

Hope everyone gets some sleep.

I'm going to bed now, with my wriggly night owl baby bump

missygoo · 22/10/2008 00:19

I wasn't going to add anything tonight, I was going to be good and go to bed to try, again to get to sleep before 2am (sooo did not work last night!) but then I read that thread that misdee attached and am now aching from laughing. The poor doc wimpering 'help'
LOL, again!!!
'savage min-min' teeheehee!!

Thank you, am now going to bed with a big grin, still chortling!!

missygoo · 22/10/2008 00:25

Oh! But OMGoodness! Merry is gonna meet her 2 LO's tommorrow! So exciting!
And now obv is going to meet her LO on Friday!!

I am frightened, I am trying not to think about the realities of meeting my LO (lots of crying, no sleep and will he be the little darling that my DD is or a devil, as payback for her wonderful temperment etc) but it is so exciting to hear others are going to meet theirs!

Obvs I too am very excited to meet LO and would very much like to know that they are here safe and sound (after the rollercoaster of a pregnancy that this has been) but it is still scary, no?

Stop talking, and thinking, Missy, this is precisely why I can't get to sleep before 2am!

toolly · 22/10/2008 02:04

I haven't seen chocorange around for a bit. Is she OK
I still can't post much because carpal tunnel.
Can't wait to check out the birth announcements for Obs and Merry

Yorky · 22/10/2008 07:34

Hello again everyone, long time no chat! I tried to post last night but server went down so I went to bed early instead!
DS had given me his d+v bug but it only seems to be a 24hr job fortunately.
DH is in Normandy for a couple of days, but wouldn't be home till Friday anyway. He is more nervous than me
What a good time to join back in - real babies! So exciting! bit jealous, impatient me! Not that anything is ready for baby yet
Toolly, SIL had carpal tunnel but it cleared up really quickly once baby arrived, thought you'd like to know

LadyBuzz · 22/10/2008 08:11

Morning All,
Lacks hope your bump is not too sore this morn and you manage to get yourself checked out.
Autumnlady sorry to hear you are feeling bad, hope you get better soon - You get to see you baby next week!
I had a tear in my eye when I read Obs will be having her baby on Friday, its so lovely.
Just thing Merry could be on her way very very soon.
Am off to the hospital AGAIN today and will hopefully hve sign off on my birth plan I'm only 38 weeks tomorrow so its not like its cutting it fine
Sorry if I have missed anyone.

MonkeyMargot · 22/10/2008 08:37

yo yo yo!!! Am 38 weeks today.
Lacks Hope all is well when you get Virgil checked out today, and that you haven't inadvertently poked him in the eye.
Autumn poor you, feeling grotty. Not long for you though!! Does it feel real yet?
Looking forward to receiving the news from MerryM later on.....I am online all morning but then have to go into town for my leaving lunch, so fingers crossed I will be able to post before I leave .
BTW - where have the Halloween hats disappeared to? I liked them!

MildWest · 22/10/2008 08:58

Morning all, gosh there is so much chat even since Monday I can't keep up!
But, very exciting (and too real!) that babies are arriving imminently. Keep thinking I should get organised for Christmas, completely forgetting that there's another big occasion this year too .
Had another scan yesterday to check on size of baby. It's measuring 'term plus' so pretty big, but the consultant seemed v. sensible and said the bump feels completely in proportion etc. He did say to watch for slow progression from 7-10cm when in labour(i.e. could be indication of log jam due to big head!) and no forceps allowed. He also said they worry less about big babies than little 'uns, and big ones generally more robust and less likely to get distressed even if stuck for a bit. After all this will probably turn out to be completely average size. Being a first timer, I've no experiance at all of any of this but sounds sensible to me, and much more prefereable that induction which was mentioned by a random MW. So, am trying to get back into a bit more swimming and walking in order to be fit enough to push this whopper out!
Definitely feel for all of you with little one's to look after at this stage, am finding it tough enough to pick the cats up, nevermind needy children!

suiledonn · 22/10/2008 09:43

Morning all, feeling very excited about Merry's special day. It is making everything seem more real. Thought I was about to steal her thunder last night thought. I woke up in the night with terrible heartburn and the Rennies weren't helping. I got up to go to the bathroom and when I looked in the loo (sorry if TMI) I was sure I saw a mucousy looking blob which I thought could be a show. Unfortunately at that moment I started throwing up and lost the evidence. So there I was vomiting, with a possible show thinking this could be it. I went in to lie down for a minute to take it all in and promptly fell asleep. Woke up this morning and nothing.......

Pinkali37 · 22/10/2008 09:48

Morning All, well all i can say is mmmmm i don't feel good BUT am so excitied that MM is having her babies today!

I've been resting for past couple of days as have literally not slept and my blood pressure is very low, also I had a fall yesterday which ended up with yet another visit to the midwife. All is fine though other than a split milk carton, milk down the crack in the wooden floor board and an achey shoulder and knee.

Anyway... Hope everyone is ok and I will do my best to read the thread... in between trying to catch up with work. I stil feel a bit ~ if that makes sense?!? wobbly i think is the word. x

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 09:48

Hi all,

OMG babies TODAYYYYYYYY! Finger crossed for Merry and her kiddies. And Obs on Friday as well - wow!

Got tired last night trying to catch up and fell asleep on the sofa! Probably a sign that I need to slow down a bit as I only ever sleep in bed normally. I only managed to read the funny thread about the lady with the "savaged min-min", show it to DH and then go to bed. "Min-min" is going on my increasing list of words for girl bits...

Autumnlady and others feeling shoddy, hope you feel loads better soon. Hugs and if one more non-pg person tells you "Ooh, not long now!" I will come and duff them up for you.

Monkey, all the "yo" - you so street, girl! I am 37 weeks today and therefore fiercely jealous. Race you!

Lacks, hope all is okay and that the mw reassures you as well as giving you a lot of bubble wrap. I keep getting tiny bruises on my bump which I think is either me accidentally dinging it on bits of the house OR Saurus Jr trying to bite or kick its way out, the little darlin'.

Mildwest, the only thing I can think of to say about Xmas at this stage is paraphrased from South Park the Movie - "Fck Christmas! "Fck it right in the ear!". I love Xmas but it's too too far away and seems to have little to do with me and DH at the mo.

Can I ask a general opinion Q - is it a reall naff idea to give Baby Saurus's brand new grandparents a framed photo of the little reptile as part of their Xmas pressies? I wouldn't do it for other rellies as it is a bit smug, but for the grands it seemed like a nice thought. What do we think?

TMI corner - avoid if eating*: Can I just say, ladies, that the whole "sex starts labour off" business is a load of rubbish? All that happened (apart from the obvious) is that I am now tired and have a crick in my neck and DH is a lot less grumpy than he was at this time last week...

Plus I forgot that men hate it when you get the giggles but honestly for the bloke it must be like trying to get it on with the michelin man or Mr Blobbly or a space hopper or something (sorry if TMI).

'kay, monster post over, off for more cleaning as the MW is coming to see me this pm and the house is gross.

P.s. I am so pleased of text buddies and great big thank you to Chocorange for texting me!!! I felt loved

ruthosaurus · 22/10/2008 09:52

Hi Pinks, I knew I'd forgotten a particular person. It's good to see you back on line as we was getting worried!

OP posts:
LadyBuzz · 22/10/2008 09:59

Pinkali good to see you back, hope you are feeling a little better. Look after yourself.
Saurus I think a photo is perfectly acceptable - We got them for DS GPs on his first xmas!

ceebee74 · 22/10/2008 10:01

Morning all - am so excited today that the twins are arriving (and yes, I do feel like they are 'our' twins aswell ). Am going to be glued to MN (even though I am supposed to be working) all day.

Vbab we can be bottlefeeding buddies together I also feel so much better making that decision and am completely comfortable with it although I am still dreading having to tell the MW when in the hospital - although I hate being made to feel guilty about it! I will try and dig that telephone number out for you tonight.

Tis my last but one day in work today - an e-mail has been sent round (I think I should have been deleted off the distribution list ) saying they are having a presentation for me this morning -am excited now

ceebee74 · 22/10/2008 10:05

Pinkali glad to see you back but ouch for your fall - should you really be working??

Saurus a photo is not a naff pressie at all. Last year, we bought a lovely frame for DS's nursery photo and gave it to MIL - she loved it I think she may be having the same again this year

As for sex, the only advantage to DH being poorly is that he hasn't hassled me about it since Sunday morning which must be a record OK, I have to mop his brow, say 'there there' a few times etc but it is still preferable to the constant innuendos/suggestions/gropes that I normally have to put up with!!

suiledonn · 22/10/2008 10:15

Sauraus I think the photo idea is a good one. I've done it myself for presents from dd. Last Christmas I gave my parents a lovely frame that holds several photos with a new baby photo of dd, one of her first birthday, first steps etc and my parents love it.

suiledonn · 22/10/2008 10:20

Baby Names I don't know how we are going to come up with something. I have no intention of throwing myself to the lion's den that is the Mumsnet Baby Names forum though - far too fragile for that. We have an surname that is definitely Irish but an English version of it IYKWIM. Our dd has a name that is definitely not Irish/Celtic so need something that will suit. Surname begins with a J and J names don't seem to work with it. Any suggestions welcome.

sparkletoes · 22/10/2008 10:32

Pinkali I echo Ceebee's comment and would urge you to slow down and take it easy! You are about to have a baby fgs girl! Seriously I really hope you can find a way to rest or I warn you, you'll be too knackered to push!

Missy I have very similar feelings about meeting my LO, I also know that when DS turns up at hospital to meet his bro/sis I am going to cry! Emotional bloody wreck that I am .

Ruthy Not a naff present IMO, in fact we did same when DS came along, was for his GreatGranparents tho but am glad we did as he doesn't have either of them anymore... We are thinking along same lines for grandparents this time around (but more due to lack of cash on our part and DH has a really good camera!). Also you are WAY to early for the mercy shag to work girl, think of it as practise only for now LOL!!

Enjoy your uber glam day out Hana!! Toolly Choco has been thrashing me at scrabble so I can confirm she is def ok!

Hi Yorky long time no hear! Hope you feel better soon.

Enjoy your leaving lunch MonkeyM!

I have heard that they worry less about big uns too Mildwest! Why no forceps allowed tho? (just curious)

An exciting day ahead as we await news of the (our!) twins and Pinky's scan!

Ceebs hope you enjoy your presentation (can't believe they didn't think to delete you from that list LOL!!)

Waves also to Suiledonn and LadyBuzz.

sparkletoes · 22/10/2008 10:34

Suledonn can you give us more to work on here?? Also do you know flavour? Ideas of names you like etc...

ChocOrange05 · 22/10/2008 10:36

Morning all!

Glad to see you back Pinkali and hope you stay firmly on your feet today!!

Saurus I heard sex is the only proven thing that works - so keep going, you've done better than me so far! And photos for grandparents would be a good thing - they are going to love the LO and want lots of photos of them around to show off!

Toolly I'm here!! Thanks for asking, I feel very loved now!

OMG - there are babies coming today!!! Does anyone know what time?? I am so excited!

I have had a rock hard tummy all night -its not like other BH I have felt as my tummy feels really numb. Anyone know what this could mean?!?

Off to get ready for an NCT meet up - we've had 3/8 babies so far and the 2 I met were soooo cute and tiny! Can't believe thats what we are all having!
