That is great Misdee thanks Just the image it conjures up, it's fantastic!

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 21:02

Tell me about it. I was never brought any food at st mary's, not even when I was bedridden for the first two days. On day three I got myself to the food trolly, where all there was on offer for us- namely me (then vegetarian) and a lovely hindu lady were beef sandwiches left over from lunch.

AT w/shawe food was basic but good and it was brought to you if you were unable for any reason to get it yourself. ANd afte r9 months of HG it tasted fantastic, I can tell you!

Going to have a look at that thread misdee

Dozymare · 21/10/2008 21:03

vbab78 · 21/10/2008 21:38

suiledonn - HUGS. I know how you feel regarding DH doing lots of hours. Especially at this stage when you feel you need more help and rest.

obs - GOOD LUCK AND EXCITED VIBES coming your way for your CS on Friday.

hi ladies. Thank you all for your support regarding the stty payroll guy at my work and my childcare voucher problems. I think I will wait until Friday (pay day) and see what happens ... if been corrected or not and then take it from there. If no resolution after a month of trying to sort it I will then send a letter to the finance director (guy above him) and get legal advice. ceebee if you come across that advice number could you let me have it just in case. Thanks.

I'm currently relaxing! Dont be ed. Am resting in my finished living room after having a nice PM with DS and getting lots of nesting "finally" done this AM. My DS doesnt tend to have a nap at lunch anymore (unless poorly or really exhausted) but fingers crossed is now still going to bed 7 to 7.30pm no arguements. Wonder what will happen when the clocks change?

Do wonder if baby has moved from back to back position overnight as I cannot feel baby's foot in my side or even sticking out like it has been all along. I wonder if all the hands and knees action I got last night has moved baby. NO NOT what you think you naughty ladies (definately past that one)... I was setting up TV, surround sound and so on in the living room.

Got 38wk midwife appt on Thurs so will see if she thinks baby has moved or engaged more. 2 wks ago baby was 3/5 engaged. I definitely think that over the last few days baby has engaged more. Lots of reasons but the main one being not as mobile due to hurt and swelling "down there". Hope I can hold on until at least DH back from London Thurs eve. Even better if after my waxing on Friday. Cant imagine going into hospital in my current ape like "state".

considering whether I can be bothered to have a relaxing bath and maybe earlier night ...

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 21:39

that was soo funny, misdee.

Sorry you are feeling rubbish autumnlady not long to go now.

Thanks for the nice thoughts Pinky - how are you?

xx

vbab78 · 21/10/2008 21:56

forgot to say ... BIG thanks to all you ladies regarding my post about bottlefeeding from birth and your supportive messages. Means a lot . Since I decided to bottlefeed I feel like a great weight has been lifted and I can just get on with being a mummy when baby arrives. Even though bottlefeeding wasnt my initial choice for DS he is no worse off for it and if breastfeeding is meant to make him better than what he is then GOOD GOD its a good job it didnt work out . So I figure better for baby to have a more relaxed and less prone to depression (had slight PND after DS) due to pressure being placed on breastfeeding.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 22:03

I'm doing ok, thanks. Very bumpy and a bit sicky but this has got to be my best ever pregnancy.

Have a scan tomorrow to see if they baby is still going to be a bit big, in which case I may have a cs next week. If not I can go for a VBAC but not the full two weeks over as my consultant and I had originally planned- so my 'normal delivery' window has shrunk slightly, but we shall see.

Are you all ready for your baby now?

vbab78 · 21/10/2008 22:06

misdee - that link is so funny. It literally had me and DH crying with laughter.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 22:07

Oh vbab I must have missed that. I'm so glad you have come to a decision you are happy with, that's fab.[
But sorry to hear you've been having problems with your mat leave.. can't say I really understand it all, being seelf employed I don't have much experience with these issues. Hope it gets resolved.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 22:33

off to read misdee's link and see what I'm missing.

My BF phoned from Canada and we have been nattering for over an hour. DH is home, virgil moving, and I'm having a fair few big tightenings and have baaaaad ass backache and SPD pains. I'm going to call the admissions unit tomorrow and get checked over as I'm very sore where the metal bit of the gate hit me. I have visions of virgil being born with a black eye!

I'm thinking in hindsight that pairig MerryMarigold and MonkeyMargot up as text buddies was a mistake as I keep getting confused (with my skim reading of the thread) and thought that it was Monkey on her way to hospital to have a baby . Took me three readings for it to sink in properly!

vbab, I missed your thread, but am so pleased that you have made a decision that you are happy with as it has been worrying you for such a long time. Now relax and enjoy your redesigned sitting room ...one day I'll have mine done, one day

fingers crossed for a nice sized baby pinky so you can have your VBAC.

AL, good to hear from you. for you at your local service. It's a good job you weren't in labour!

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 22:51

THat sounds lovely, lacks it's so nice catching up with good friends.

I'm not convinced the big baby thing is really such an issue, tbh. I only saw the reg the other week.
I don't think my consultant will be so jittery.

I can appreciate that I prolly don't want to VBA2C with a 9+lb baby but DS was 8lb5 at 41 weeks so not massive by any stretch.

I don't really want a cs next week but I also prolly don't want to go more than 41 weeks.

Mainworry to me is that baby was still very high- so may all be for nothing if I'm going to be loads overdue. We shall see.

Somehow I think my scan will be the lasty thing on peopel's minds tomorrow!

I am so excited about our twins

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 22:53

Sorry I meant to say, hope you are not too sore. I am very tender around my scar- it must be really sore now you've given it such a bashing

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 22:54

no sorer than usual

lol at "our" twins; I think of them as ours as well . We can all be virtual godparents!!

suiledonn · 21/10/2008 23:00

Hi to all you nightowls here tonight. After all my complaining earlier today about dh's night course it was cancelled this evening at the last minute as too many people dropped out. They will just re-advertise and start it in a few weeks so dh will be at home most nights from now til baby arrives which has made me so happy. He also told me he will be taking a week off when baby arrives so all in all I am feeling much happier and more relaxed about the imminent arrival than I have for ages.

I missed Merry's last posts today. Thinking of her now and can't wait to hear about the twins arrival.

Lacks I just replied to your 'show' post. I have been having similar discharge this week and keep getting excited that it might be a show.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 23:05

THat's good, suiledon My Dh is grounded now, except for work evenings. He's really tired at the mo anyway. I think since we brought the crib into our room the reality of the situation has finally hit him!

suiledonn · 21/10/2008 23:12

I think reality won't set in with my dh until I am waking him at 3 in the morning to drive to the hospital same as last time round.

I am over 37 weeks now and we still have no names chosen. We don't know if it is a boy or girl so we need options for both and we haven't been ablto agree on any so far.
