Oh noo Have I missed Merry?? please can her text buddy send her my best wishes. How exciting!!

Sorry to hear about obs but sounds like a good idea, to keep her and her baby safe.

Lacks WELL DONE ON THE PRAM ASSEMBLY! Sport a little different to my V2, and I got a bargain on mine with all accessories for 300 quid from lesters here in Manc, but still, the sleeping bag is worth buying. DD still fits it, I have checked.

The little hingy brackets are for putting the toddler seat on top, is that what you have left over? I'm sure your DD will get the hang of climbing up.

DH picked DS up from school before lunch today for his booster jab and he was really disappointed because he thought he was going home because the baby had arrived.. bless.. he is soo excited.

Monkey I am sorry your little JRT is still poorly. I remember when JB was ill, he had the loveliest hazel brown eyes with little dark 'eyebrow' markings and he really knew how to look pitiful. He used to get a bit of arthritis in his paw and really knew how to milk it.

Hi to all.

misdee I'm sure your secret stork understands completely and will love what you have sent

MonkeyMargot · 21/10/2008 17:38

Pinky I will text MM and pass on your best wishes. We're going to have 2 babies tomorrow!!!
I will also pass on your best wishes to the other MM (JRT). I felt so sorry for her, she always looks soooo forlorn, like she's done something naughty when she's sick. I know exactly what you mean about them knowing how to milk the sympathy vote!!

mum2becks · 21/10/2008 18:19

Hi everyone!! Came on to give my best wishes to MerryM for tomorrow But had so much to catch up on I then read her last message and realised I have missed her!!! Cant believe she made it to full term and we are going to have 2 new babies by tomorrow

Sorry to hear of all the DC who are or have been ill lets hope they are all getting it out of the way before babies start arriving!!

Hope your DD gets used to the P&T high up seat lacks I have got the same pram but never thought that DD might not like the seat (as she too climbs in and out herself) I'm not going to start using it until baby is here so will wait and see

I have definately been in nesting mood today, DH is off work so he took DD out and I spent the time cleaning and tidying everywhere and doing all my ironing but now I feel shattered!!!!!!! So have convinced DH that we need a takeaway tonight as I dont have the energy to cook anything

Sorry I have probably missed loads as cant remember even half of what I have read so hi to everyone

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 18:23

Gaaaah, I'm not having a great evening of it. Not only have I dripped boiling water on my bump (OUCH) but I walked into the gate as it was swinging shut and the metal bit cuaght me on the underside of my bump, right next to the end of my scar. It fucking hurts and the baby seems to have gone very quiet. I have poked and prodded and he is moving, but very slowly compared to normal.

I've phoned DH and he is coming home, and am debating whether to go in and get checked out, but don't want to go without DH. that and the small matter of not knowing which hospital I'm under as I'm in the middle of changing and there's no-one to watch the kids.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 18:31

oh lacks ouch! I've got droppsy too. I get very worried when I'm cooking or washing up around the children at the mo. I'm sure baby will be fine, but poor you!

monkey thankks for that

DS has been delightful this evening, making play doh 'poos' and leaving them around the kitchen

MonkeyMargot · 21/10/2008 18:35

mum2Becks Deffo get a takeaway, you deserve it!
lacks oh nooooo - painful double whammy . I would get yourself checked out for peace of mind. You're having a right old week of it - and it's only Tuesday!!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 18:47

I want to wrap myself up in the duvet and not come out until the baby is born.

DS has driven me potty as well and is going out of his way to be as difficult as possible, even though I have tried to appeal to his better nature (do six year olds even have a better nature???) and asked him to be as much help as possible. It seems whatever I say he does the opposite.

Virgil is wriggling quite happily now (that I've woken him up )

sorry for going on; I'm turning into a right ole mare at the minute

ceebee74 · 21/10/2008 19:44

I can't believe I have missed Merry - if you are still lurking, good luck tomorrow and can't wait to hear the good news of the new arrivals Could her text buddy send her my love?

Daisy ouch and double ouch! Glad Virgil is back wriggling again though.

Dozymare · 21/10/2008 19:46

lacks can we perhaps book a retreat away - these last few weeks - no kids, no DH's, just us and our bumps....on a tropical pardise island with servants at our beck and call cooking scrumptious food and at our every beck and call...we will relax, chill and NOT have to do with the everyday stresses and strains of family life (although DH's and kids can be flown in as and when required!)

oH, IF ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dozymare · 21/10/2008 19:49

HAS ANYONE SEEN Pinkali she has been very very quiet of late.......

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 19:49

that sounds divine Dozy

and of course this virtual world will be PAIN FREE!!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 19:53

see ChocO's post from this morning...she is in bed with bad cold and MW orders due to BP problems...poor thing!

cricri · 21/10/2008 20:07

Lacks Hope you're OK - you're having aright old time of it at the moment
Quick update from Obs - she sent me a text saying that she's been admitted to Kings and the plan is for her to have her C-section on Friday! So at least one other baby will be born this week I did ask her how she was and will let you know if I hear anything. This is all very exciting Is anybody going to go into labour spontaneously I wonder... MonkeyMargot?

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:12

how exciting....another baby . but poor Obs, I hope she is doing OK and not too bored. I never got round to sending her books; I'll try and get them posted tomorrow.

MonkeyMargot · 21/10/2008 20:18

Blimey!! Can't believe Obs is going to be having her baby this week either!!
Lacks I posted Obs 3 books yesterday, they should have arrived today. I will text her and tell her DH to look out for parcel.
CriCri I can't tell whether I'm having a "slow burn" into labour, or Raspberry Leaf reaction. Either way, I've got 3 more days at work and heaps to do, so I'll cross me legs .
BTW - the real MM is lots better - thanks for all the get well vibes!!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:20

I feel fine now...as long as I don't move off the sofa. virgil wriggling fine as well.

I need to rest up and take it easy, but can't when on my own.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 20:23

Oh I think that's great news, cricri it will be so lovely for Oblomov to have her baby after all she's been thorugh.

mum2becks hope the takeaway is good. I really fancy a takeaway. Have already had sausage and mash with the DCs but still

glad virgil has perked up, lacks.

ceebee74 · 21/10/2008 20:26

How exciting - a third baby this week Maybe it is all going to snowball after this week and they will be coming thick and fast

To those of you discussing Portland Babies the other day, have been watching it today (I was an addict on my last maternity leave ) - doesn't watching it make you want to go private?? All the MW's and doctors seem so nice and the rooms look so much better than my local hospital anyway!! Oh to be rich.....

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:34

DH liked the look of the butler service to the room on Portland babies

they seem to have as high, if not higher, incidences of highly medicalised births though. I would prefer it to be all hippy and earth motherish.

Pinkyminkee · 21/10/2008 20:36

A kind auxillary brought me my jam roly poly and custard at w/shawe when I was feeding DD last time, does that count?

ceebee74 · 21/10/2008 20:42

Pinky that sounds just yummy - I bet it really hit the spot From what I can remember, the food was absolutely terrible at the hospital - DH was keeping me going with bags of jelly babies

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:44

pinky. I got room service my first couple of meals after having DD on account of the section, but I was expected to get my own breakfast the next day.

And it was only on my last day that I got a gluten free meal inspite of requesting one every day. Seems the PN wards just get whatever is left over!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 20:45

lol at jellybabies. I ate a bag of sherbet lemons........boy did that go down well with a three day old BF baby

cricri · 21/10/2008 20:46

Just found the thread on funniest thing about childbirth under the childbirth section - it's had me in stitches Although maybe that's because I'm a first-timer who has no idea what to expect

misdee · 21/10/2008 20:50
