Not that it'll even BE November by the time we run out of space on this thread...

i think she had her c-section booked in for the 3rd nov tho

ruthosaurus · 21/10/2008 13:41

Still, lawks. Poor thing, whe's not been "sounding" herself online, really, has she?

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 13:50

Poor Obs, but with her diabetes the way it is, it's probably better that she is in there being looked after. Send her my love

Well the P&T is built up and DD hates it! I have put the toddler seat on the front, and she can't climb in and out as it's so high and she is not happy about that. Not sure whether to let her ride in the normal seat for the time being or keep her up in the front toddler seat as that's where she'll be when Virgil arrives.

In the true spirit of building things with crap instructions I have a set of bolty/connectory type things spare with no instructions to where they go ....pinkyminkee.....yooo hooooooo. I need to blow up the tyres now...I think

It is a lovely pram, but it's a bit shite that after paying all that money you have to get separate cosytoes and liners and harness covers. tis a bit of a rip off.

hi again LLPJane, good to hear from you.

suliedonn, YANBU to want your DH around more; he needs to cut back on at least some of his sport. FWIW though I was really worried about bedtime and routines after DH wnet back to work after DD was born but it was surprisingly easy to get into a routine. I used to sit and feed DD whilst DS was getting his bedtime story, although I appreciate that at 5 he is a bit more self sufficient than a toddler. From my own pregnant worries and ramblings it's never as bad in reality as you think it will be

ruthosaurus · 21/10/2008 14:20

My pram just arrived - and I can't lift it out of the box! Will have to wait for DH, who will love that, bless him. Knacks the decorating for tonight, though.

Blimey - lots happening on this thread.
Hope Obs is ok in hospital. Might they deliver the babies now-ish? Gosh. PMA vibes...
Vbabs sounds like ceebee has given you the right advice - go legal. Sods that they are.
Sorry to those with ill/clingy DC's - Dozy, Lacks and Suiledonn. I don't know how you ladies manage being PG whilst caring for demanding little ones.
Get well soon Pinkali!
Hello to everyone else!

sparkletoes · 21/10/2008 14:37

Hi all,

So many messages, sorry if I miss anyone..

merrymarigold wow, so impressed that you made it to full term. Much admiration and all the best for tomorrow!

daisy they DO take G&A away at the pushing stage as you can't focus on pushing if you are breathing in or something... (I remember thinking "No!' as they put the tube away but my mind was quickly moved to other things!

Hana that is interesting there is now more research on peanut butter, I have to say I have pretty much ignored the previous advice anyway but def reassuring to know this! Also interesting about it being rich in iron (whoever said that).

Vbab can't add anymore to what has already been said except your payroll guy sounds like a clueless wnker and you should def take Hana*'s advice about getting everything IN WRITING. for you.

Sympathy to Obs but as has already been said she is at least being looked after now. good luck vibes...

Sounds like my friend is struggling to BF her poorly infant, he is still on morphine so very sleepy. Really hope she manages to get him back to his normal regime...

Know I have forgotten loads, waves & apologies to everyone else.

sparkletoes · 21/10/2008 14:45

Oh NO! That is annoying about your new pram Daisy maybe after time DD will get used to it tho? Hope so.

Oh and I forgot to say earlier Ceebs the hospital I am going to has a CD player in the birthing rooms too so I don't think you are jumping gun choosing it now! Impressed actually, I haven't really thought about it TBH am not sure if I will really care about music too much at the time but would more likely be happy for someone else (DH) to put something on. Maybe that can be his next job - mixed CD for birthing... over to DJ Mr Sparkle.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 14:46

I'm bloody knackered now. I hate this feeling useless and pathetic that comes with late pregnancy. I built the pram up thinking I would walk to school for DS, but I should probably take the car now! I couldn't even remember how to work a bloody bicycle pump and hadn't fastened the valve bit on so I have been pumping air out the sides of the tyres for 20 minutes and wondering why they weren't getting any firmer

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 14:49

your poor frined sparkeltoes; I hope she can get on track with feeding him. She can always come on MN for a bit of BFing support or there are always the helplines as listed on hunkermunker's blog

Tip if you are planning on BFing; take a not of a couple of helpline numbers and take them into the hosital with you

ruthosaurus · 21/10/2008 14:52

See, hana, THAT's why I can't get it out of the box. Bugaboo bees are indeed v light to manouvre - when they are stood on their little wheels, but I have never really had any upper body strength and it's the lifting it that's the problem. How embarassing. The really funny thing is that the box it came in is smaller than the one for the car seat... I think I need a nap.

Hi Sparkle! Sorry to hear about your friend's bf trouble.

That is a great tip Lacka the hospital support I got was really good but from listening to others it is pot luck and a big prob is that MWs all seem to do it their own way so you get conflicting advice BIG TIME!

A colleague of mine was not able to carry on BF her poorly son and had to give up but plus side with this friend is her DS was feeding fine before op and she has done it b4 with 1st DC so knows more about it. Really hope they manage to work it out.. It seems to me BF can be all plain sailing if all ok but a spanner or 2 in the works and it can all get out of control really quickly.

Hi Ruthy! Don't touch that pram if it is too heavy for you now! I haven't experienced a Bee but went to try the iCandy Pear once and it was an absolute tonne wieght (altho light as feather to actually push) so know the 2 are not always linked!

Oh yes heartburn is so annoying, I only got it for 2 weeks with DS but this time it can flare up again at any time, I just turned over in bed last night and it started! Gaviscon is my saviour too.

MonkeyMargot · 21/10/2008 15:38

Sparkle hope your friend succeeds in BF. I met up with my NCT chums this morning, 2 of whom came with their newborns. One had given up already (but was expressing), the other was persisting but finding it hard. Both commented that it actually hurt quite a lot!! (no-one tells you that!)
Lacks - you've done quite enough getting your P+T assembled, never mind walking to school and back. Take the car....
Rutho ditto, wait for DH to come home til you attempt any pram construction.
I still have no pram or carseat since DH insists on getting the best value deal on the t'internet. At this rate, I'll be lucky if I have one for xmas . I think he's going to have to bite the bullet and pay John Lewis prices just to get one.
Still got really dull, achey period-like pains, and backache. Convinced this isn't the start of anything though, more likely its the Raspberry Leaf tablets. It can't come yet - I'm still blardy working!!

ceebee74 · 21/10/2008 15:39

Send my love to Obs - really hope she is ok and the baby arrives safely. Also to Pinkali .

Suiledonn/LLPJ completely sympathise about your DH working a lot - my DH is often away at least 1 or 2 nights a week and I have found it really hard these last few weeks to deal with DS on those nights - even though I have been at work, and not with him, all day - am just so knackered. Dozy I feel so lucky at the moment that I can/am actually paying someone (i.e. nursery) to look after DS during the day even when I am not at work so I am getting lots of rest - I really respect those of you with your toddler full-time at home as, although I often think of the money I am wasting by sending DS to nursery when I am at home, I honestly don't think I could do it.

Saurus have you tried milk for your heartburn? Someone told me the other day that they couldn't take Gaviscon when they were pg (can't remember why now) so had to drink gallons of milk instead.

Have to dash as DH wants his computer back to do some more work - how very inconvenient of him eh??

Please send much love to Obs, I hope she can read posts online when she is admitted. I am relieved she is being monitored.

Well, I don't think I'll be back on here again tonight, so...so long.

Margot, I will text you tomorrow. Please text me if you start going into labour or if we have any more babies on the thread!

MonkeyMargot · 21/10/2008 16:18

MerryM best of luck for tomorrow!!! Hope all goes swimmingly and that it is a wonderful experience for you. I shall look forward to receiving your text!!! Hopefully with some name details!!1

misdee · 21/10/2008 16:22

Thinking og Obs and MerryM.

DH has posted my secret stork parcel, again i a so so sorry for the delay.

cricri · 21/10/2008 16:37

Just a quick post to say good luck for tomorrow MM Look forward to hearing news about your babies!
I also had a text from Obs, same as Choc's. I don't think she has internet access when she's in hospital (at least she didn't last time) but I've asked her to keep us informed.

sparkletoes · 21/10/2008 16:40

Hi back again after a quick 40 winks!

Hana I haven't noticed BH all week so hope that yours also calm down. Just build up the RLT slowly and you should be fine (if my experience is anything to go by).

I ordered a new car seat today! Don't need too much stuff this time so will just have to get excited it about that... YAY!!!

Monkey really sorry to hear your friend has given up BF, it really shouldn't be that sore, I only got pain/discomfort for first few seconds and then only in first few days. I am NO expert on this (over to Daisy for that...) but has she asked for any advice on the correct latch etc to find out why it is so painful? Expressing is fine but I think it is more difficult to keep up than directly feeding (it was reason my colleague couldn't continue). All to do with fore and hind milk production...

Honestly I was sure I wouldn't be able to do it but in end I was like "is that it???". Just keeping fingers crossed it all goes so smoothly this time too tho.

sparkletoes · 21/10/2008 16:41

Good luck MerryMarigold we'll be thinking of you...!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 16:47

Good Luck MerryM

Will be thinking of you tomorrow morning and waiting with bated breath to hear the news
