Someone asked about girl's names (which we won't be using since bub is a boy). So here are the ones I like:

Sophie (or Sophia)
Isabel
Rachel
Alexandra
Chloe
Emma
Gemma

By the way, if you hate my names, it's okay. I don't mind. What a dull world this would be if we all liked the same names.

If the scan is wrong and it turns out to be a girl, then Rachel Page is the name.

Lua · 08/03/2005 20:58

Our shortlist of boys name continues to be blank.... So let's get some suggestions for boys names!
Our girl's list were: Isabella, Kaya, Giovanna,
Anya, Miranda, Zoe.

Nab, I dod see your post. Thanks for sharing your experience!!
Sorry to hear about the chickenpox scare. I think if you are over 20 weeks you are very likely to be OK! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have immunity.

LipstickMum · 08/03/2005 21:05

9:05pm haven't even started thinking of names

PinkArjuna · 08/03/2005 21:17

I liked Podrick! Then I am calling my little boy Osiris I was quite choked up not to be able to use Athena I am all for original names, you know apart from being a historic name Hedwig is Harry potter's owl... I guess you know that and there is a moaning myrtle in the bathroom at Hogwarts. God I don't know when I'll have the time to read the next harry potter its out in July and I'll be loopy by then. I blame my friend - she got me hooked.

LipstickMum · 08/03/2005 21:24

I sometimes wonder whether I am the only person on the planet not interested in Harry Potter ?? Hedwig was my least fave on Charley's list and now I know that, it's struck off completely.

How are you doing Pink?

LipstickMum · 08/03/2005 21:27

Athena is a lovely name. It reminds me of the 90's poster shops and that very popular poster of a man with a baby??? Anyone remember that?? I spent many a happy hour looking for postcards and posters of my favourite pin-ups #puts on reminiscing face#

charleypops · 08/03/2005 21:33

LOL Pink at the Harry Potter names I've inadvertently chosen! I have seen the films and those names must've crept in to my subconcious! . I loved "Persephone" when you were talking ages ago about girls' names. Are you really thinking of calling your boy Osiris? I love it! He would get called "Oz" or "Ozzy" which I think is pretty cool. Ozzy Osbourne will of course be long gone one way or the other by the time your little one acquires any age.

Lua/Uwila - some lovely names there! but yes, I could do with a few more boys names too. We now have 5 baby naming books which we've been through thoroughly and have only come up with a measly 2 possibles.

Oh KVG, I like Elsie and Iris too

charleypops · 08/03/2005 21:36

I liked Hedwig because it's so old world, but I couldn't possibly put a child through school with that name, poor thing.

I remember very well that particular poster Lippy, in fact I'm sure they still print it...? There's an Athena still in Guildford (or is it Kingston, I get mixed up)

PinkArjuna · 08/03/2005 22:04

Yeah thats what I thought about Osiris - he can just opt for Ozzy if he doesn't like it. you know I am surprised Ozzy Osbourne is stil alive the stuff hes done over the years

I have been considering buying a wimbledon body suit as there is a chance Bubba might be born while the grandslam is on. Also it'll be his first wimbledon if we are home on Monday 20th June to Sunday 3rd July do you think they'll let me induce him so we can be home in time ??? If he is born on the 12th as he is due we might just be home. Though he'll probably be late, god knows - do they have TV's on the maternity ward? I might have to buy a mini tv.... I really have my priorities right

PinkArjuna · 08/03/2005 22:09

Right essential item for hospital bag = handheld TV

charleypops · 08/03/2005 22:58

I know Pink - I can't believe Ozzy's still alive too! That tennis outfit is cute - he's going to look like a mini ball boy! So I take it you're a big Wimbledon fan then??

charleypops · 08/03/2005 22:59

Is it too late to have a hot chocolate pudding with chocolate sauce and cream?

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:02

Hi everyone, Definately not charleypops!!

charleypops · 08/03/2005 23:08

Really?! Oh goody! Are you new to the Due in June thread, or just having a "wander"? Nice to meet you anyway!

I'm off to put my pudding in the microwave for a couple of mins....

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:10

I am just wandering I am due in July, Had my 20 wk Scan today and just felt like chatting!!

charleypops · 08/03/2005 23:15

Hi! Oo - do you know if you're having a boy or girl then??

I'm now scoffing my pud and feeling very greedy by the way

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:18

No i dont know, I couldnt make up my mind if I wanted to know or not so sonographer said it was better not to know DP not bothered as he already has three children (2 boys & 1 Girl) but this is my first and I think I would really really like a boy but I am coming aroung to the idea that it might be a girl. I think I am just afraid it will turn out like me!!

charleypops · 08/03/2005 23:22

Aw! I'm sure you don't mean that really Tigger! I'm having a boy, but if I was having a girl I'd want her to be like the best parts of me (or how I would like to be) and to try and make sure she isn't anything like the bad bits of me.

It's probably rubbish, but I subscribe to the theory that if you eat loads of savoury and carby stuff in the first 2 or 3 months you are having a boy, if it's sweet stuff then it's a girl. What were you eating?

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:26

Yeay!! I was eating very bland stuff like pasta and plain crackers (couldn't keep anything else down!!) so savoury & carby!! people have told me lots of theories, I am just trying not to get too set on one or the other so am working on good points for a girl. Are you having your first? where are you from?

charleypops · 08/03/2005 23:38

It's my first too Tigger. Still don't believe I will actually (hopefully) have a baby in a few months . I'm in Surrey right now, but we are looking to move elsewhere before the end of the year.

I always thought I was carrying a boy, but then on the day of my 20 week scan I suddenly thought it might be girl. very weird. I think a girl would be brilliant too though. Girls are great!

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:40

I know what you mean although we have started on the nursery and stuff it just doesn't seem quite real somehow. My friend has just had her baby and she said its weird how one day can change everything like that. Shes amazing poor girl has just lost her Dad baby only 3wks old and she still positive as ever

charleypops · 08/03/2005 23:45

People like your friend are so inspirational aren't they? Where are you anyway? Are you in the UK?

I haven't bought one solitary item for my baby yet let alone started on the nursery [blush

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:49

I live in fordingbridge, Hampshire (new forest) I couldn't wait to start buying things for baby, I think I was trying to realise it a bit more but I have stopped now although am popping to bath on sunday afternoon to see my sis who has loads of baby stuff for me to sort through which willbe good she has four kids!! I would love to have four kids but don't think dp would like seven kids under his belt!!!

tiggerintum · 08/03/2005 23:59

Well I think its time I went to bed, It was lovely to talk to you and I'm sure we will meet again very soon as I often wander about. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you

charleypops · 09/03/2005 00:03

oh you live in a beautiful part of the country. I'm . You're very lucky - I bet you'll get loads of stuff from your sis. No one in our families is really able to help us out like this, I'm just going to get newborn essentials I think, then buy stuff as I get used to having him. I feel so out of place still in baby shops. I think we might try to buy a pram this weekend though. Do you live with dp's kids?
