On a good note ... 36wks today . Although still no more organised or the house ready.

Had DS new wardrobe delivered which DH is going to assemble tonight. The delivery guys each carried a box in on their own but told me they couldnt carry them upstairs for health and safety reasons!

ruthosaurus · 06/10/2008 11:17

Hugs, Vbab, sounds hellish .

Bugger adrenaline, I want cake. DH is being a total hero and driving me to and from work for these last 2 weeks but even so I am so tired and my whole pelvis hurts. I cannot get comfortable at my desk and when I get up out of my chair I stagger around like a comedy drunk for a few seconds before I regain my balance.

Is anyone else getting disorientated and scared for the safety of their bump in crowded shops? Ikea seemed very scary and full of people trying to push me over yesterday! I think it's because my sense of balance is a bit iffy.

vbab78 · 06/10/2008 11:26

rutho - Hugs back at you.

NEW PICS of me, DS and DH on my profile if you fancy a look.

ruthosaurus · 06/10/2008 11:40

Okay, this is what I get for complaining about Baby Saurus being too quiet - I am now getting the living heck kicked out of me! Bless it, it's only trying to please. Big feet, though.

reluctantincubator · 06/10/2008 11:46

Heh. thanks Margo I will have a peep in the HB bit. Its such a massive forum this its difficult to keep track of where everything is. Mind you, like Ruthosaurus - once around the goldfish bowl is enough for me to have forgotten where my own rs is these days

Pinkyminkee · 06/10/2008 11:48

Hello all
first of all hello oblomov greta to hear you are feeling better!

I don't have time at the mo to catch up on the weekend- hope everyone is ok.

Had to say goodbye to our cat this morning, I'm afraid. Very . She took a trun for the worse and everyone agreed we had tried everything.

Great pictures Vbab & Chocolatgal!!

Sauraus - my pelvis also hurts. By pubic bone feels like it could crumble any minute. Hurt especially this morning when taking wellies off!

Obs great news!!

Erm... Lacks

EVERYONE we're having babies soon!!

P.s. Yes i worry about the safety of my bump. Went to MEADOWHELL on Saturday with DH (last minute thing) trying to find V V Large jumper to go over leggings for coming out of hospital in. My legs are like pork wrapped up in string (AWFUL). Had to get a really really long jumper from M & S in the end. Anyway, people kept on bumping into my bump, i felt like shouting "for gods sake it's bloody big enough, are you blind?"

Also for those ladies that are meeting 2nd week in Dec... my DH became overally interested in where we were meeting and kept on pointing out places like Costa Coffee because apparently it was slightly more spacious and all the prams would fit! Also DH would like to know, is there any mother and baby parking at meadowhell? He seems most concerned about this. Think all his work made him doolally at the wkend. Also we bought a new car for me! YIPPEE... have gone totally sensible and got an estate! YIKES.... i'll be wearing flat shoes soon... SHIT I already am

ruthosaurus · 06/10/2008 12:03

Aw, really sorry to hear about your cat, Pinky. Big hugs.

Hana, what's with the knotted breast? I saw some in John Lewis at the weekend but didn't like to ask...

Pinkali37 · 06/10/2008 12:08

That's what i missed. pinky i am so sorry about your cat They are such a part of the family.

AutumnLady · 06/10/2008 12:10

Hi all
Just a very quick post to say hi I am officially on maternity leave but still haven't sorted my work laptop or internet out yet so will post a little from my blackberry (when it works!).

Lacks - hope all is ok, I've had period type pains for 2 days now but nothing else so not quite sure what to say!

Ladybuzz - not long now for you and I hope you get the birth you want.

Obs - welcome back honey and hope the melon bump is behaving

Londonladies - you are all brilliant and I had a fantastic time meeting you all. Could have sat there for much longer and ordered more tea and cakes!! Had to stand on the tube and bus all the way home - nasty tube people

Will try and pop on when I can but hope you are all staying well. Can't believe bump will be out 4 wks today....
Xx

chocolategal · 06/10/2008 12:13

forgot to say earlier, welcome reluctant hana im 34+1 today and am too hoping for baby to come around 39 weeks.....

got last scan on thurs to check babys kidneys and hoping they can give me some more of an idea on estimated size, so far everyone has just been saying oh, hes going to be big!!!
but different people have different ideas on big!!!!! eeekk

Dozymare · 06/10/2008 12:17

oh pinky sorry about your cat....very sad

Autumnlady 4 weeks to go - can you believe it?! It's so exciting eh!

I have jsut started my first ever thread on a name board and expect to get slated for it....I am generally interested in the concept of what basis a name is "chavvy" as the name I want to call DD is deemed this in some quarters. I actualyl wish I had started the debate on here as I am sure that someone will be mean to me

A KNITTED BREAST????? Hana3sconesflower please elaborate!

ruthosaurus · 06/10/2008 12:27

Oops, I meant knitted but I typed knotted. Well, that's what they feel like...

Seriously, there was a tub of these things in the haberdashery department, no sign or anything, just a tub o' boobs. Weird.

Pinkali37 · 06/10/2008 12:30

Oh yes how was the londongirlswotlunch (it was definitely something like that) meeting? Have fun?

Autumnlady am about you being on maternity leave.

ChocOrange05 · 06/10/2008 12:42

Hello all!

Welcome to the thread reluctant. This place is great so better late than never to have found it!

Obs welcome back - glad to hear you are out of hospital! How is your melony bump??

Pinky sorry about your cat .

Hana yes, what IS a knitted breast!?!!?

Chocolategal cool pictures, you can really see what he looks like! Does he look like anyone in your family?

Well I had a busy weekend - was SIL's hen night on Saturday so DH and I drove to Manchester and back to celebrate, it was really fun and I lasted out till midnight!

As I told Dozy on the train home on Friday DH had said he organised "something" for Saturday for me and so I assumed it was a show or lunch but he took me out for breakfast and then we went home where 6 of my friends, my mum and my sister had organised a baby shower for me! It was really lovely, we played pram pinata, pin the dummy on the baby and guess the baby photo. Ate even more scones and cake and then I got some lovely presents! I felt very lucky to have such lovely friends and DH!

Feeling a bit peeved today as was meant to see the Community MW at home for my HB appointment but she can't come due to "staff shortages" - hope that doesn't happen on the big day!

Anyhoo - sorry for the long post, there is a lot to catch up on when you've been away for 2 whole days!

Pinkali37 · 06/10/2008 12:47

Chocorange How lovely was that for DH to arrange it for you! You are very lucky. Pelased you had a lovely time.

ruthosaurus · 06/10/2008 12:53

I dunno if John Lewis actually sell them - I got the feeling they had been made by helpful people and donated, it kind of looked like a donation tub here. They were in lots of different colours and some were quite ornate!

Bless your DH, Chocorange - He's setting the other DH and DPs a very high standard there...

Some bugger has just put an extra bit of teaching into my second-to-last afternoon at work. I know, I know - if I'm well enough to be here Mumsnetting, I'm well enough to teach, but I'm more of a desk ornament at the mo'. atcha Autumnlady!

ceebee74 · 06/10/2008 12:54

Pinky so sorry about your cat {{{{hugs}}}}

Reluctant welcome to this thread - tis fab (As long as you can keep up!) I am due on 26 November and I think I am the last one on here so you can keep me company when all the others have popped

Vbab completely sympathise about DS and sitting still - formal occasions like christenings are awful as DS doesn't sit still for 2 seconds so it is SO difficult and I hate those patronising looks you get from other parents whose children do sit like angels next to them!! I often think I would like to swop places with them for just a day or 2 so they could see how difficult it is with a very active little boy!!

Hi to everyone else - too many posts to post indiviudally!

Been swimming this morning and managed 40 lengths - could have done more but had to get back as DH was due to have a conference call and obviously couldn't look after DS aswell!!

Hope you are all having a good day - the sun is shining here and it is a beautiful day!

chocolategal · 06/10/2008 12:55

very jealous of you having a date to plan for autumlady....sooo exciteing!!

chocorange i dont see me or my DH in baby!!!
aww, how sweet of your DH to organise something like that for you... a baby shower is such a nice idea
not so good about the staff shortages!!!

this really annoys me as i am a nurse and we could never not look after someone due to "staff shortages"!! you have to prioritise and get round everyone!!

cricri · 06/10/2008 12:55

Afternoon everybody!
Pinky So sorry to hear about your cat As somebody else said, they are a part of the family and definitely leave a big hole in your life when they go. (((Hugs))) to you.
Welcome Reluctant and welcome back Pookamoo
Obs Glad to hear you're back at home and hope you're feeling OK.
Chocolategal Hope all goes well on Thursday - lovely scan pics btw
Re babies coming early - I sent a pregnancy update to my doula at the weekend after my hb was confirmed last week and got an email from her this morning saying she has a feeling my baby will come early and did I want to bring my ante-natal appt with her forward (it was scheduled for when I'm 38 weeks exactly). Spooky because I've been having the same kind of feeling myself - 39 weeks definitely sounds like a good time. You wait - I'll now go 2 weeks overdue after saying that!
Choc Your baby shower sounded lovely - how wonderful Did you get your birth pool problem sorted out btw? Mine is due to arrive this week and DH and I will be having a trial run next weekend just to make sure there are no issues after what you experienced.
Dozy Will have a look at your name thread too.
Hello to everybody else

ChocOrange05 · 06/10/2008 13:02

You are all right - my DH is a star and I am a very lucky lady! (although he's not perfect and is very capacble of being a pain in the butt sometimes! [ grin])

Change of MW appointment plan - I rang up to rearrange and now she's coming round in 1 hour! Bugger - and I've just wasted 30 mins on t'internet when I should've been frantically tidying up!

Cricri our pool solution is still to buy/beg/borrow lots of kettles - and I think that will work ok, the main problem will be filling the pool initially which would probably take an hour or so but I am assuming we'll have time to do that - and if not then I don't think thats such a bad thing!

Ceebee VERY impressed with your swimming!

Agghh - gotta go tidy!
