summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

Hello there!

I'm housebound today as the car is in the garage and it's pissing down with rain outside..... how long before my DS gets cabin fever?

Getting really horrible dizzy spells and the headaches are still here. Got midwife tomorrow for my booking in appointment so I'll tell her. I'm sure it's normal, and I can vaguely remember having dizzy spells last pregnancy, but I can't remember. I wish I'd written everything down.

Anyway, I hope everyone's MS is wearing off and that you are starting to feel a bit more human again x

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 10:17

Hey all!!

Not been around for ages, really pooped at the moment!!

dd's both have chest infections and antibiotics are going straight through them!! nice!!

Starting to feel a little plump now, have had my booking in with m/w last wed, now just waiting on scan date coming through!!

Tee..Pil, great arn't they!!?

daisy5 · 10/11/2008 11:04

Me too wilsonmummy - getting a real bump quickly this time. I daren't buy any bumpclothes until after 13 weeks but the number of outfits I can wear is getting smaller and smaller.
Am off to help my brother sell pies tonight and am thinking everyone will say 'who ate all the pies'!!!! They are heavenly pies so probably will be very tempted.
Hope you are all. tee my Dad is a bit like your in-laws - really lovely and well meaning but doesn't often think before saying things. Thankfully so sweet that people understand but sometimes, for me, a little wearying!
I am loving spicy food at the moment, and am still a total car monster but really off bland vegetables. Am struggling to keep up with all the things I am 'supposed' to eat so just taking Pregnacare, buying lots of smoothies and hoping for the best.
Is anyone else getting really bored with food and endless glasses of water!!!

daisy5 · 10/11/2008 11:06

I mean CARB MONSTER..not car monster - makes me sound like I fancy Jeremy Clarkson or am a speed addict or something.

BobsWendy · 10/11/2008 12:38

lol daisy I couldn't figure out what a car monster was. I too am a carb monster, I just ate a huge brown roll with cheese.

Girls I cannot stop eating, I am a hippo . Have booking appointment next week and am going to cringe getting weighed.

ttcnumber3maybe · 10/11/2008 13:02

Good luck all with early scans hope all goes well x
Good luck also to all of those of us with DC cooped up inside to escape this awful weather (it's not raining cats and dogs, it's raining elephants and whales) ... my darling boys will be getting cabin fever this pm whilst I am desperate for a nap - hooray

So glad I'm not the only carb monster! have a little confession... it is p'ing it dwn with rain, had to go to supermarket as no food in the house and then when I get there no parking (aargh! I need food... Sure sign that I'll be sick if I don't eat)... so I went back home and ordered a domino's pizza to share with my DSs! They are over the moon but am having a big fat guilt trip now ... am a big fat hog of a Waynetta! What is happening to me!!!!

Tee2072 · 10/11/2008 13:40

Hi All

Well, got put on insulin this morning. Not as bad as I feared. Needles are so think can't even feel it and already my levels are dropping, so it is definitely the right thing to do!

And I am a total carb monster, which is so very bad for a diabetic! I did learn today that the only carbs I really have to count are the ones in bread/pasta/rice things like that. This means I can actually eat more than I thought I could!

Still no ms on a regular basis, so that's good! Second scan tomorrow, hopefully we'll for sure see the heartbeat this time. Wish me luck!

flynn1984 · 10/11/2008 13:44

Tee all the best for tomorrow will need to let us know how you get on x

wilsonmummy · 10/11/2008 14:39

Carb monster here too!!

Baby just needed a big fat chocolate cookie, so baby got one!! I didn't enjoy it one little bit!! [wipes crumbs from round mouth]

BobsWendy · 10/11/2008 17:00

tee best of luck tomorrow

O daisy, that pizza story is like something I would do!! yay

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/11/2008 17:56

My FIL has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer and we're shell-shocked. I was only saying to DH the other night how happy we were and how everything was so exciting and brilliant at the moment. DH's just phoned me with the news from work and is on his way home now. Bloody hell. I'm really lucky with my in-laws, and in some ways my FIL is more of a dad to me than my own.

Sorry, I know this isn't the forum for this kind of stuff, but just needed to vent a bit....

Tee2072 · 10/11/2008 18:02

So sorry to hear that Ineed.

And of course this is the place for that, or anything else we all need to talk about!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/11/2008 18:05

Thanks Tee. I'm so gutted. He is such a brilliant person and DS ADORES him. He's too young to understand it all... but looking at his little face when he sees his grandad makes my day.

My own grandad died of it when I was seven, I think I'm being more emotional about it because of that, and obviously the pregnancy hormones. I think I'm going to have to get my tears out before DH gets home so I can be there for him.

We won't know more til they've done more tests Wed and Thurs and then they'll have more of an idea if it's treatable etc.

Sorry to hear about your FIL, Ineedmorechoc. Hope news from the hosp gives you all some hope that the situation isn't as terrible as it first appears.

StrawberrySam - not sure how much I can reassure you except to say that when I had a m/c at 10wks I had spotting over several days which was brown rather than red and so wasn't very worried about it because people say that's just old blood, don't they? I had no other symptoms (actually had v few normal pg symptoms except for feeling a bit weird, whereas usually I feel nauseous and appalling, so maybe I should have been suspicious). But after 5 days of this happening I had a scan and discovered that the baby had died and so I had to have a D&C. What you're describing sounds different - only a couple of days when it happened, hardly any blood, and not actual 'spotting'. 8 wks is also around the time you would normally have a period, so it's much more common to have a bit of loss then - I know women who've bled a bit every month and still given birth to a perfect baby. So hang on in there and I hope tomorrow's scan shows that all is well. xx

Tee2072 · 10/11/2008 20:12

I hope everything is okay strawberrysam. Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/11/2008 20:17

Good luck tomorrow Tee and I hope everything goes okay strawberrysam xx

thisisyesterday · 10/11/2008 20:17

ooh gosh MN is crazy these days! when I was pg with ds1 there were about 15 people on my ante-natal thread.
not sure if I can keep up with you all but I'll give it a go

am due 6th June, have already got ds1 who is 3.5 and ds2 who is 1

MrsMcJnr · 10/11/2008 22:01

Hey ladies I dug all my mat clothes out from our storeroom yesterday and have started to wash them. I felt quite nostalgic which is totally crazy as I was wearing them all this time last year in fact, I was 31 weeks pg this time last year!

Tee ? will be thinking of your at your scan tomorrow I hope you manage to sleep tonight. Glad the first day of meds has gone ok and that you feel better.

Littlesarah ? I have a retroverted or tilted uterus too, it rights itself as it gets heavier usually

Ermintrude ? poor you hon, I do hope you feel much better soon. I know how you feel because I feel similar and am feeling very sorry for myself; I had nothing like this with DS.

Ineedmorechocolate ? nice to have new mat wear PMSL at your dream, I?m having those too the other night it was Mike from Desperate Housewives, last pg the most memorable one was Nathan from Heroes!! Sorry to hear abut the dizzy spells. I?ve had a few and think it?s my eyes. I have a stigmatism and it changed quite a lot last time, sometimes I can feel my eyes trying to re-focus, it?s odd. I am so sorry about your FIL, very, very sad and a horrible shock for you all sending hugs and strength and hoping for good news on the prognosis x

Chocciedog ? sounds like you had a lovely weekend

Mamaolivia ? good thread title!

Flynn ? hope you are feeling much better, its crap not being able to take flu remedies

Hey Wilsonmummy LOL at your baby wanting that cookie ? the sacrifices hey?!

Daisy5 ? yup, same here, 2 pairs of trousers left that fit!

Bobswendy ? booking it is like the first day at weight watchers its ok to be what you are, it?s after that that the ups and downs matter

TTCnumber3 ? baby wanted pizza hon!

Strawberrysam ? poor you, any blood is scary. All crossed for you tomorrow hon xx

Congrats thisisyesterday and welcome

Anyone got any gut feelings on the sex yet??

LittleSarah · 11/11/2008 08:24

Ineed - so sorry to hear about your FIL, that is horrible. I hope he's okay.

Strawberrysam - I hope your scan is good. Bleeding can mean many things, especially with no cramps.

I am feeling weird, pretty much no nausea the last couple of days and some period ish pain. Really very little but enough to make me paranoid. I hate the first trimester!

MrsMcJnr - I've no gut feelings. Dh is sure it's a boy.

Jools1 · 11/11/2008 09:36

Sorry to hear your news Ineed

StrawberrySam - I'm in the same position as you - lovely long weekend away for my birthday and DP and I actually managed to start communicating better and I was feeling so positive, then saw some mucousy stuff mixed with dark brown blood on Sunday evening and panicked. Travelled home yesterday - all seemed to be OK till the evening when I found red blood when wiping. I'm seeing a mixture now of pale red and old blood whenever I go to the loo and a small clot Am having mild AF type cramps, boobs have deflated and are no longer tender and I think my enhanced sense of smell has also gone.

very much fear that, at 11+4 today, it is all over. Dating scan at 15.50 - fingers crossed for both of us.

wilsonmummy · 11/11/2008 09:47

Oh Jools and Strawberrysam, i'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you both, pls let us know how everything goes when you have your scan!

Ineed.. sorry about your fil, its always the good people it happens to, i just recently lost my grandad after having 3 heart attacks on 3 consecetive sundays, so i know what a shock it can be!

Mrsmcjnr.. i dug out some of my mat clothes a few days ago to.. but also already been buying a couples of things to DP had a sale so it was a must.,. And no gut feelings either although my dh thinks will be a girl as we already have 2!!

Tee2072 · 11/11/2008 10:23

jools and strawberrysam all fingers and toes crossed for you. Please let us know how it goes.

LittleSarah · 11/11/2008 12:07

Good luck Jools, I hope everything is okay for you.
