Brand new BFP's - anyone due a June 2009 baby?

summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

If we had room I would probably put baby in their own room when they grow out of moses basket, about when nemo did it, but with little room I think it'll be best to keep them in with us for as long as possible.

Tee2072 · 30/10/2008 12:24

I haven't decided yet for sure if the baby will sleep with us after the first few months, so I am setting up a nursery.

My brother and Sister in law actually didn't have either of their children in with them at all when they were born. They went into their own rooms straight away!

Since the hubby is going to save up all his holiday time so he can take at least 6 weeks off with me, I think we might room in with a moses basket for those first 6 weeks and then play it by ear after that.

Although I am leaning towards them being in their own room, as I am not really fond of the whole co-sleeping idea.

Jools1 · 30/10/2008 12:33

Well, our spare room is really the laundry drying room / guest room, plus a haven for DP if he snores too loud and I kick him out, or he can't sleep and wants to watch TV in the middle of the night.

I'll have to ditch the double bed to fit a cot in there, but am thinking of maybe getting a single bed, or a sofa bed so that I could go in there and fall asleep if baby won't settle

I guess I really need to decide whether to pull apart the very useful "insomniacs" room ahead of the birth, or leave it till later !

mica23 · 30/10/2008 12:51

Bring on the satsumas!Eating lots and lots of them.Dont know about that sweet\sour craving theory.I didnt have single sour craving with DD.
Have nuchal scan booked for 12th December.Really stressing about it as bein over 35 puts me in 1 in 300 category from the start..
Cant wait to find out sex of the baby. With DD we wanted to wait but they let it slip. This time I want to know.

Jools1 · 30/10/2008 14:16

I'm still debating over whether to have the private nuchal scan, free triple test or nothing at all I'm 39 in ten days time, so I guess my risk factor will be through the roof anyway - am just not sure it is worth it ?

flynn1984 · 30/10/2008 14:18

DH and I have agreed that for first few months the baby will sleep in our room in his/her crib then they will move into the spare room which will be turned into a nursery. Was wanting to hold of decorating until we knew what we are having but might so ahead and start decorating now, painting it a cream colour.

Cravings are bad just now...all I want to do is eat crisps and I'm constantly hungry (so much so that I was contemplating going to a chinese buffet tonight)

mica23 · 30/10/2008 14:42

when I read stuff like;" you dont need any extra food in pregnancy except 2 pieces of toas in the last 3 months", it makes me wonder.I keep telling my body that but just doesent listen!!

mica23 · 30/10/2008 14:46

Jools-I heard on different thread that chance of MC due to amnioceteses is much, much smaller than 1 in 100.Its up to yourselfs.Im going to wait for nuchal and then decide..

llynnnn · 30/10/2008 14:46

oh my god, just noticed a stain of brown blood( sorry tmi) i have a really bad feeling about this, my symproms have gone, dont feel tired and have NO sickness whatsoever for the last couple of days. i even had late lunch today and nothing to eat all morning and didnt even get the sicky feeling due to hunger
i know that brown blood is ok but really worried now
really dont like this

flynn1984 · 30/10/2008 14:51

llynnnn I'm sure everything will be fine try to stay positive, I've heard other people saying they've had a bit of brown blood and everything was fine (tbh not had this myself tho)
If you are still uncertain and worried why don't you try and get an early scan, I would contact your community midwife of gp for some advice...have you had any bad cramps?

I hope everything if ok and sending lots of hugs and support your way!

Jools1 · 30/10/2008 14:56

Lynnn - I had brown blood at around 6 weeks I think - only when I wiped and only for around half a day - I think it is really really common and could be left over from implantation / baby burrowing deeper into uterus.

I know it is easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.

Tee2072 · 30/10/2008 14:58

llynnnn if your worried, call your GP's office or community Mid-wife. I have also heard that brown blood isn't worrying, but also never had it happen.

(((llynnnn))) (that's a hug, in case you don't know!

omeNofthefleshes · 30/10/2008 15:02

Lynn firstly to reassure you I have had bleeding with ds and dd2 ad even just before I found out I was pg this time. Please contact your local early pregnancy unit and see what they say to put your mind at rest.

froggy16 · 30/10/2008 15:14

Hi all, who is doing the list? I'm still being missed of it!! 13TH june is my date.
On the subject of where baby sleeps, my two were in our room til 6 weeks and then straight into own rooms. I did feel a bit cruel at the time, but we have no problems with sleeping, so I guess we'll do the same this time!

froggy16 · 30/10/2008 15:16

Lynn- forgot to say I had brown discharge last week at 6+5 weeks, was refered to early pregnancy unit where I had a scan and saw the babies heartbeat, very reassuring. Discharge hasn't completely stopped, but midwife said nothing to worry about. Do you have any pregnancy symptoms?

Jools1 · 30/10/2008 15:17

froggy - we all do the list Find the latest version, highlight it and hit ctrl c, then click in the new post window and hit ctrl v to paste it in - then edit to add yourself and post

llynnnn · 30/10/2008 15:21

thanks for all your replies, i dont think i have any symptoms at all anymore, but dont have any cramps.

i'm going to ring midwife later today i think if i see anymore, dont want to be totally neurotic about it, but i just have a really bad feeling

good to hear (well not good, but you know what i mean) that others have had the same thing and gone on to have healthy pg

thanks again x

ChloeandAlfie · 30/10/2008 15:28

I am eating like a pig, and I'm on about 6 slices of toast a day!!

Lynn See your GP and get referred. I'm positive it's nothing to worry about, but for your own sanity get it checked out.

I had DS in his own room from four weeks old. He was such a snuffly, restless sleeper that DH and I were awake all night!! He was absolutely fine and now is a brilliant sleeper so it did him no harm. He's moving into his big boys bedroom in Easter so we'll tart up the nursery before little one arrives (did want to redecorate but, what with the credit crunch, seems a bit of a waste of money)

xx

froggy16 · 30/10/2008 15:40

Thanks Jools, didn't think!!

O girls, thank God I'm not the only one eating like a horse. The hunger / nauseau pains are constant. I even bought myself crisps today, I never eat crisps

flynn1984 · 30/10/2008 16:35

bobswendy How was your trip back home?

The hunger is so bad for me right now, totally unbelievable, DH has talked me into going out for a meal tonight so hopefully that will make the hunger subside!

BobsWendy · 30/10/2008 17:00

hey flynn it was really lovely thanks. And so great to be going home bearing good news . When did you say you're heading over.

My hunger knows no bounds.... seriously!!

Ooo where are you going for your meal tonight?

I have chicken kiev and roast potatoes in the oven... boring!

wilsonmummy · 30/10/2008 17:06

Hi

LLynnnn, hugs are coming your way!! i hope everything ok, if you still worried call m/w1

flynn... eating lots here to feel like want to eat everything in sight!

ttcnumber3maybe · 30/10/2008 18:59

Hi all
Llynnnn - wishing you all the best and really sure that all should be fine as it's really only bright red blood and stomach cramps which are worrying (acc to my GP) as I had a bit of brown discharge which I hadn't had with DSs
I also had lots of symptoms weeks 3 (before I knew for sure i was PG)to 5 which have virtually disappeared now. APparently a lot of the symptoms are caused by the frenzy of hormones in the body which level off a bit towards the end of the first trimester (and you are around 3 weeks ahead of me) ... but do chat to the midwife / gp if you have concerns cos the worst thing is the anxiety xxx crossed fingers to you

.... the only symptom I now have is the hunger (SO glad to see i'm not the only one here!) and not sure if it isn't just my natural greediness that I tended to suppress due to going to gym / working at trying to keep a figure post two kids (put on 4.5 stone with DS1 and 3 stone with DS2!!!) Mind you cravings for KFC (which i never usually eat) and custard doughnuts didn't really help!
