Brand new BFP's - anyone due a June 2009 baby?

summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

SB x

Morning all!!

Hope you are well llynnnn, have you called m/w yet?

TTC... KFC and custard donuts sounds great right now even at this time in the morning!!

Everyone have a good day will catch up later! x

Tee2072 · 31/10/2008 07:38

Morning!

Had a pretty decent night, even though I got up at 4:30. I keep telling myself it is practice for when the baby comes.

Big problem over here is bras and trousers that are too tight already! Going to do some shopping tomorrow!

Won't be around much during the day today. Huge deadline at work. Have to actually do my job rather than cruising the net. How dare they want me to do that?!?!?

daisy5 · 31/10/2008 09:51

I haven't had a burger for about three years but yesterday I was on a mission to find a KFC and when I found one, it tasted so succulent and delicious that I was in heaven. Wanted to have a second one but managed to stop myself.

Jools1 · 31/10/2008 09:59

Morning all !

I've just eaten the sandwiches I brought with me for lunch - was STARVING !!

Have just been offered a free lunch though - if I go and talk to some graduates on their induction day !!

bigcar · 31/10/2008 10:15

Morning all!

Glad mn is back on line again

Daisy5, you've just reminded me that I used to get cravings for salt and vinegar crisps as well as fruit gums in my previous pregnancies, can't see how any of that could be doing me any good, why do I never get cravings for anything even vaguely good for me Oh and chips from the chip shop - yum!

chocciedooby · 31/10/2008 10:44

lynnnn - Hope all is ok.Talk to MW and get it checked out.Put your mind at rest.
Still feeling awful nausea here.It starts as soon as I get up in the morning until I go to bed at night now
I feel worse after eating
Couldn't even eat my Satsumas last night!
Boobs not so sore at the moment.
I moved DS1 into own room at 5 months and DS2 at 9 weeks! Just depends on how confident you feel in moving them. I spent a lot of time being paranoid with DS1 and woke to make sure he was still breathing.
Felt a lot more confident with DS2 and he slept much better in his own room.
If you have them in with you for too long I feel they don't do wonders for your sex life!Sorry.....

StrawberrySam it is probably water retention, although I guess twins are definitely a possibility in your family! I'm the same way, all my trousers are tight! Oh and my boobs are definitely already bigger. I'm going bra shopping this weekend!

summerbird · 31/10/2008 12:56

strawberrysam i agree it is prob water retention but - blimey - 15 sets of twins!!

jools and daisy LOL !!!!! I have just had a cheese pasty AND a sausage roll - wonder when i will start this healthy eating lark!!

been feeling constantly sick this week, my mother in law used to be a midwife and she said it should subside after 12/13 weeks. phew!

happy halloween everyone

ChloeandAlfie · 31/10/2008 15:14

We have lots of twins in our family too... every 1st scan is a lottery!!

LittleSarah · 31/10/2008 15:36

I'm very sick still too. I think it might be 'peaking' about now and very much hoping it will tail off in a few weeks.

It must be water retention strawberrysam. Even if you are expecting twins they'll both be absolutely teeny right now.

My tummy is definitely bigger, although according to the scales this morning I am the same weight as before pregnancy. I did say I was going to measure it and I think it is half an inch bigger than a few weeks ago.

Happy halloween all! I'm thinking of ways to stay awake at my mini party tonight!

llynnnn · 31/10/2008 17:00

hi all thanks for all your replies. i have only had a tiny bit of spotting today, really sorry in advance for tmi but its quite mucus-y but mostly just clear (sorry!!)
i still havent felt sick today but am very tired so taking that as a positive. i havent rang the midwife, going to see what happens. i havent told anyone in real life either not even dh, dont want to worry them. i know he'd be mad tho if he found out just dont want him to panic!

summerbird · 31/10/2008 20:51

my DH would freak if i didnt tell him but llynn you know what is best for you, to be honest it really does sound like a bit of implantation, i think you would know if it was anything sinister (from what i have read on MN). Take care and you could even give NHS direct a call if you are worried?

I don't know for sure what the rule is, but do we need to start a new thread? We're at 790 posts!

Anyone know the rule or the rule of thumb?

Jools1 · 31/10/2008 21:44

Tee - there is room on the thread for 1000 posts, so we have a bit of chatting to do yet

MrsMcJnr · 31/10/2008 22:40

Hey ladies sounds like we are all at the stage of tightening waistbands and nausea!

Llynnn ? poor you never nice to see any blood when pg, I?ve had a bit too. The Dr says the placenta is very close to the cervix at the moment and that could be why, maybe it?s the same with you.

I?m really sick now too ? uggh! Was sick 8 times yesterday at Kids Kingdom, I was never this sick with DS! Maybe this one?s a girl

Congrats and welcome to all the newbies

Anyone any thoughts on nuchal scans and the associated blood tests? Should I bother with the blood tests if the nuchal looks ok? Do they really give me anything extra? I?ll be having a 20 week anomaly scan too (sounds mercenary but it all adds up when everything is private )

omeNofthefleshes · 01/11/2008 03:39

Hi all
hope you all had a good halloween
Well as you can see pregnancy insomnia in full swing again here..had it really badly with ds and seems this one wants to follow suit
Lynn hope you are taking it easy and please share your stress with dh as thats what he is there for!!!

Tee2072 · 01/11/2008 05:46

Morning all! Slept all the way to 5:30! Go me!

MrsMcJnr I am really struggling with that issue. Since I am 39 the possibility of Downs is kinda high, but I don't think I'd end the pregnancy if there was a problem, so I am not really sure if I want to even do the Nuchal scan. I guess it would be good to know so we can prepare, but I really can't decide!! Its one of things I want to discuss with the OB/Mid-wife when I see him/her next week at my booking in.

ChloeandAlfie · 01/11/2008 06:26

Tee, unfortunately I have a couple of friends who found their child was Downs after a nuchal scan and then an amnio. They did make the decision to end the pregnancy and I know they hate themselves, even a few years later (by the time all the tests were done she was close to 19 weeks and had to go through labour.... horrendous....) despite this, they don't regret the decision and have since had another daughter, who doesn't have downs. They did genetic tests and found that my friend had the gene that meant that there was a strong chance every pregnancy would result in a downs baby.

I think it'd be good to know, even tho you don't think you'll end the pregnancy. At least you can get a support network in place, read up on everything you have to and get in touch with local organisiations. As a teacher and having a kids at school with Downs siblings, I know that all those things are invaluable.

Tee2072 · 01/11/2008 06:30

chloe Thanks for sharing that with me.

Part of the problem is because of my age and how long it took me to conceive, this is probably my one and only chance at this. I had already just about given up on ever getting pregnant when that BFP appeared, and I really don't think I could go through another nearly 2 years of trying and failing. Not to mention that then I would be 43 and the likelihood of Downs would increase about a million percent.

OH and I have been discussing it off and on, but I imagine we won't decide for sure until we have to!

ChloeandAlfie · 01/11/2008 09:19

Tee I think I'd be the same. Even our situations are different, I just don't think I could end the pregnancy. There's no telling how severe the Downs'd be and they can live a normal healthy life and be thoroughly loved.

I still think I'd like to know in advance, if possible. That way you can be as thoroughly prepared as you can be. Also, the hospital can also be prepared and monitoring their heart and things as soon as they are born.

It sounds horrible talking about all the these things. There's EVERY chance your little bean will be healthy and not have any problems. A woman in our post-natal group had her ds at 47 and she's a lively, healthy little thing.

Congrats on your pregnancy by the way , you must have been over the moon when you found out. You so often hear about people who give up on the idea of getting pregnant and then it just happens!

snowwombat · 01/11/2008 09:22

Hi girls, can i please join the list? I am 7 weeks tomorrow. Our beautiful boy was born and died in July at 20 weeks and we are delighted but very cautious about this second pregnancy. I start jabbing myself with Clexane tomorrow (I have a clotting disorder) and wondered if anyone else had been down this route?
Take care and I look forward to getting to know everyone. I am 31, DP 36 and this bean due 21st June. We are currently living in Sydney. It is just a little warmer here than it was in London two weeks ago! I shall try and catch up with the thread- you have been so busy already!

chloe I was so excited I woke OH up at 6:45 yelling "It says pregnant!!" to which he replied "Test it again!!" Which I couldn't do because it was my last stick!

I would agree that if I know then I can prepare better and I am leaning that way. Its my first really big mommy worry and in some odd way I'm trying to enjoy it being a bit of a milestone!

snowwombat welcome and congratulations! So sorry to hear about your loss. I've got my fingers crossed for your little bean.
