summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

Hiya all!!

Vickyjane - I'm so sorry to hear about your mc - hope you have the support of family and friends and my thoughts and prayers are with you!

Well got another early scan tomorrow after my problems of last week. Hormone levels doubled last week so heres hoping they see something in the sac this time...praying they do

As far as symptoms go I have all day nausia (forgive spelling) which I find hard to cope with, would prefer to be sick rather than feeling sick. Still pretty tired and chest was sore but not as much.
However I have put on 6lbs already and I'm only at early stages (sitting at 13st 10lbs even though I dont look it) think I'll go back and do some light karate to keep me active.

Will let you all know how my scan goes!

Summerbird - our scans are the same day I'll be 11+4 by then though

Was Barcelona business or pleasure - I can't remember

Hi all,

MrsMcJnr officially I'm due on the 5th June, one day ahead of you & I am 7wks & 5 days, but that's going by a calendar which gives you a 28 day cycle. For the past 6mths my AF has been spot on CD34 so I'm guessing my due date will be 6 days later than what the calendar says, making it really June 11th.Saying that I am going by the 28 day cycle as it makes me almost 8wks rather than 7 which I prefer!! Does that all make sense?

You should be 8weeks this coming Friday.

I've been feeling a bit sick & nauseaus & tired. Also having periods of insomnia at night.Trousers are beginning to feel a little uncomfortable around my waist too.All good signs

Tee2072 · 21/10/2008 18:00

So today the MS started with a vengeance, but at least I didn't hurl!

Tomorrow is my first doctor's appointment, just with my GP to confirm the little bugger and get a referral to the high risk pregnancy clinic, as I am diabetic and nearly 40!

OH and I were discussing the fact that I'll be gulp 58 by the time the nipper leaves home!!! Good thing OH is 5 years younger than me!

Congrats to all the new BFPs! Here's to quiet, uneventful pregnancies for all!!

Diege · 21/10/2008 18:08

Just popping in to say hello . My MS has also started today TEE, at just over 5 weeks. How many weeks are you?
Really hoping I won't get HG this time, esp now I have a 4 hour round commute!
Oh and congrats NEMO! Think we were both on 'trying for no.4' thread a while ago?
Hello to everyone else - good to compare notes!

ChloeAnderson · 21/10/2008 18:15

Hi Leaky I'm also 8 weeks on Friday. Also nauseous and have periods of insomnia (not unusual as I'm a seasoned insomniac and have been practising for ten years or so). I'm starting to not be able to hold in my tummy. I'm sure I wasn't this bloated last time, but then I didn't quite have the spectacular muffin-top that I managed to get from being pregnant last time.......

Tee2072 · 21/10/2008 18:23

I'm about the same as you diege, but just under 5 weeks! I'm figuring my due date as 26th June.

leaky · 21/10/2008 19:32

Tee2072 I'm also 39 & will be 40 when I give birth but it'll be my 3rd.My DH is 4.5yrs younger than me too. Hope you don't mind me saying but it did make me sad to hear you refer to your baby as "the little bugger".

Wecome to you & any other newbies

Tee2072 · 21/10/2008 19:37

leaky I have no idea why 'hearing' me call my baby 'the little bugger' made you sad, but I am sorry it did. I certainly didn't mean it anyway but affectionate for my baby.

I am American and 'bugger' has a different meaning over there, I guess.

Marsh08 · 21/10/2008 19:55

omeNofthefleshes - no - your not alone! I dont feel anything yet - on one hand good on the other slightly worrying. Still I think I was like this last time until the sickness kicked-in and knocked me over!

Thanks for the gap reassurance - I dont know why I was so worried, maybe because I had thought we would wait until next year.

LullyMummaOfOne - I think you have about the same due date as I will have. My scan date was the only accurate date last time around!

MrsMcJnr · 21/10/2008 20:50

TheLittleMermaid ? whoops! But it?s virtually impossible to get away with not drinking isn?t it? If all goes well at my scan on Thurs (all crossed) we are going to spill the beans (on an oath of secrecy) to my Parents, parents in law and 2 sets of friends as they are over from Scotland for DS?s christening this Sunday and in addition to it being nice to tell them face to face, it?ll be so obvious if I by-pass the champers! Sorry to hear you didn?t get much sleep it?s so hard when that happens, it makes me feel so sick the next day!

Welcome and congrats funkybumps lovely to have you with us!

Thanks Jools by Dr?s estimations I?ll be about 6 ½ weeks rather than 7 ½ but I guess it?s tricky to call at this stage. That scan date will be here before you know it

Littlesarah ? I WAS in Edinburgh moved to Spain at the end of May. Had DS at St Johns, can?t praise it more highly and their Dads to be classes, Hypno birthing classes and Physio classes (all free) were fab and I met some lovely ladies who I stay in touch with Tell us more about your scan, what did you see?

Nemo ? I know they would do that in the UK re the dates but I am not sure about here. I got a BFP the Fri before the Thurs scan and was told then I was 3 ½ weeks at the scan, not sure I would have got a BFP 6 days beforehand if I?d only been 2 ½ weeks pg? I guess it scares me a bit that B2 seems to be measuring behind at the mo, been there before and it didn?t go well but am trying to tell myself to relax and be positive like the Halloween name

Summerbird ? glad you had a lovely time and that the sickness stayed away

Flynn ? will be thinking about you and wishing you well for your scan I find that the only way to get rid of the sick feeling is to eat.

Leaky ? makes sense let?s hope things match up soon here have to say, I ovulate late in my cycle and when I was pg with DS, I was given a date by the Drs 5 days earlier than the one my fertility software gave me, of course all through my pregnancy I preferred the Drs date until I went 9 days overdue and was having to argue against induction! Luckily DS turned up on his own and he wasn?t a bit overcooked either! I hate that insomnia, especially when you are shattered, not fair is it! My trousers are tightening too and I?m horrified as I am only just back into them after DS!

Tee ? bah! Kids keep you young and you never know, they might never want to leave home! hope the appointment goes well. I learnt with DS that MS is not like a hangover, you don?t feel better when you have been sick so it is better just to feel sick

Hello Diege keep those ginger nuts close! can?t buy them here ? ahhh!

Chloe ? I keep telling myself that I?ll be so much slimmer after this baby! don?t know how I figure that, my stomach really is a disgrace!

Milkmade · 22/10/2008 07:35

Bah. Just got up early and left home at 6:20 for an 8am meeting - now rescheduled till 11 - humph and double humph, and not nice for dh who's had to get himself and dd ready for creche unaided, plus I didn't get to see her this morning. Maybe triple humph!

onehitwonder · 22/10/2008 07:44

Morning All. Milkmade you have my sympathies, what a pain!

I have to stay away overnight tonight with 2 colleagues. We will be going for dinner and I am going to struggle to explain not having at least 1 drink. I wonder if a weak half shandy would be OK? If not I may take the moral high ground and claim that i want to be 100% on the ball for a very exciting day spent proof reading a catalogue the next day (maybe I can persuade them they shouldn't drink too - where is the 'evil' emoticon when you need one?)

Should be fun doing a 2-3 hour drive each way too. Think I will let young male colleague drive and sleep rest my eyes in the back.

Milkmade · 22/10/2008 07:57

Get to bar early and order tonic water - no-one ever suspects it's not G&T. Or have a glass of wine over dinner and nurse it - people rarely notice you're not actually drining it, particualy if it's the kind of restaurant that top up your glass as you go. I remember from my first pg finally telling work colleagues after a week long business trip and assuming they'd all twigged becuase I hadn't been drinking, but do you know - no-one had actually taken it on board at all - it's only you that feel sore thumb like. DEfinitely don't talk about not drinking though - it's that that makes people start wondering...

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 09:03

Morning all

Sleepy today - for some unfathomable reason I managed to watch a film in bed and stay awake till the very end at 12.30 !! That is unheard of even pre-PG !!

Just seen there is a July thread now - we're not the newbies any more

funkybumps · 22/10/2008 10:06

Hi all, need some advice please as I'm driving myself crazy. Last night I could feel like a poking sensation behind my belly button when I lay on my stomach. Does anyone know what that's about ? and also today my uterus feels incredibly heavy like a pulling sensation on it. Anyone had that ?

Hate being like this as I didn't really symptom spot with my first child. plus I'm not even a full 4 weeks yet so seems weird to be experiencing things already. I think I'm just extremely paranoid this time as I was never sure if I could carry children again. Sorry for the rant.

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 10:08

Funkybumps - I had that poking sensation whilst sitting in the office at 10 and 11DPO - figured it was implantation ? Maybe beanie is burrowing deeper ?? How many DPO are you now ?

funkybumps · 22/10/2008 10:14

12dpo officially although funnily enough I did think I ovulated straight after my period this cycle as I had the EWCM a few days after I had finished bleeding so BD'd then aswell. That would make me about 16 dpo which would explain why I got a postive so early as still got 4 days before AF is due !!

Koshka · 22/10/2008 10:16

hello!

Im PG too!

no idea how much exactly, but do know when i concieved (sad or what)

DP has now got over the shock and we have a serious logistal nightmare to sort out!

Koshka · 22/10/2008 10:19

I think im due around the middle of June, how do you work it out??

chocciedooby · 22/10/2008 10:23

Still no major symptoms here apart from feeling extremely faint and slightly nauseous when getting up in the middle of the night to DS2 who is sick at the mo
I have to eat my breakfast 1st thing in the morning to give me the energy to get the kids to school.
I am probably getting slightly more hungry as the days move on.
I am 6 weeks tomorrow

Heebeejeebee · 22/10/2008 10:27

Hi all

Mind if I join you? I got my bfp last week and the dr reckons I am due 22 June, but I ov late in my cycle, so we'll see!

I had a mmc in Jan, so am trying to suppress a rising panic/paranoia that things are going to go wrong!

Symptoms-wise, I'm eating for England (I've never been so hungry in my life!), have sore boobs and need to pee about every 5 mins. I also keep going light headed..

Koshka - you can work it out by using a pregancy calculator - (the BBC parenting website has one and there might even be one on here somewhere) where you can either put in the date of your last period, or the date you ov'd and how long your cycle is, and they work it out for you!

chocciedooby · 22/10/2008 10:27

Hi Koshka
You work out your due date by working from 1st day of your LMP.Work back 3 months and then add 7 days. eg.if LMP was 11/09/08, due date is 18/06/09.
You can log onto fertilityfriend.com and that calculates it for you.

Jools1 · 22/10/2008 10:28

Hi Koshka

This link might help, or there is a calculator on www.nuchal.com/ that allows you to put in the date of conception
