summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

Welcome Bluebutterfly . for a sluggish digestive system, I'd strongly recommend fresh grapefruit juice - I started on Waitrose pink grapefruit when TTC as it is supposed to increase fertil CM. However, have continued as I now really really like the flavour and it doesn't seem bitter at all any more !!

A glass in the morning with my Oatibix seems to keep things as regular as clockwork - and I am prone to problems in that department !

Bluebutterfly · 15/10/2008 13:28

Thanks Jools1. I may try the grapefruit juice. The thing is that everything seems to be taking SOOO long to get processed through my system, but then I get diarrhea (sorry if tmi). On top of the chronic nausea and the odd bit of vomiting, it seems like I have been invaded by an alien, not a baby!

froggy16 · 15/10/2008 14:26

Don't forget me on the list, I'm due on 13th with Sparkle!
I'm fairly new to all this so I guess alot of you know each other?

VickyJane77 · 15/10/2008 15:43

Hello ladies, I had my scan and it showed up an implantation bleed, so am feeling relieved!!! We could also see a little heart beat, even though it was only measuring 5+2 weeks. The midwife said I was 6+5 weeks, but said to wait until dating scan to know for sure.
Thankyou for all your support so far, it has really helped.
Hope everyone else is ok xxxxx

daisy5 · 15/10/2008 15:45

bigcar · 15/10/2008 16:25

Jools1 · 15/10/2008 16:53

Great news VickyJane

Right, I'm packing up in a mo and heading for the gym

Now where did I put the motivation for that spinning class - I seem to have mislaid it !!

chocciedooby · 15/10/2008 18:11

Blimey - spinning classes!!!Good for you Jools1.

Great news VickyJane. So pleased everything is ok.

Hi Froggy. Keep sharing your progress with us. It's fun and interesting to see how everyone is getting on.

LittleSarah · 15/10/2008 18:29

Whoop whoop! Yeah for Vickyjane!

Flynn1984 - what an annoying thing to be told, I hope you find out what exactly is going on. Good luck.

swottybetty - I am due on the 31st and I chose this thread for the same reasons as you, although I do lurk on the May thread too.

Well more proof of pregnancy brain on this very thread, I have to move at the beginning of Nov not Dec!

Quite nauseous today, am just hoping it doesn't get worse as don't know how I'd cope through uni/work, etc. Well done to all those who are managing.

summerbird · 15/10/2008 20:07

vickyjane that is amazing i am so pleased for you,

May I join you?

I should be due 28 May 2009 according to 1st day of last period, but in 1st scan today I was dated as 7.2 rather than 8 weeks so adjusted due date is 1 June.

Jools1 · 15/10/2008 21:04

HI Cote - I tend to hang around May AND June, as do a couple of others with due dates that cross over

I am very jealous of you getting a scan aswell I think I'm only 3 days ahead of you, but won't see bean till 12 weeks ...

llynnnn · 15/10/2008 21:17

evening all!
Vickyjane - great to hear from you and soooo pleased you have such a brilliant scan!! Yay!!

Flynn - thinking of you, you must be so frustrated and anxious, i have EVERYTHING crossed for you x

big hi to all the newbies! congrats!!

jools - you make me feel even more tired just mentioning spinning class!! you have a lot more energy than i do!!

summerbird - i have that too, one minute i feel really sick then the next i'm starving!! thats ok(ish) to deal with at home but at work its nigh on impossible!!

anyone else struggling with really not fancying anything in particular to eat? I search through our cupboards or even walk to the shop to find some lunch and NOTHING looks appetising at all yet I feel so hungry!! think my little monkey is playing tricks on me already!!

insywinsyspider · 15/10/2008 21:31

llynn - yes completely not fancying anything to eat, only cold drinks

vickyjane - great news on scan
flynn - got everything crossed too!

I've had a rubbish back to work meeting today - got offered ace job but I know in a couple of weeks I'm going to have to come clean and let manager know, I didn't today as I'm only 4/5 wks and that felt way too early to let him know - I don't start work until week before xmas, if I was doing the job now it would be different I'd just crack on with it but it feels wrong starting back knowing I'm leaving in 4-5 months - sorry if that confilts with what I said earlier jools - I think its just diff this time because I'm still on my second lot of mat leave.... worried about having to tell manager after he has listened to my job concerns and put a great offer on the table... oh well on plus side I actually told my mum and dad today and they were please

MrsMcJnr · 15/10/2008 22:46

Poor you Choccie hope you feel better soon.

Daisy ? wow! Lots of coincidences there ? it was Dr Berral wasn?t it? My consultant! His equipment is amazing! He even gave me pics of my little bean?s sac at 3 ½ weeks! I took all my Scottish notes from DS?s pg with me and he understood my condition perfectly and also explained why he thought the private nuchal scan we paid £250 for in Edinburgh was too late for some of the readings to be worth anything!

Summerbird ? I find food is always the answer to feeling sick! Have to say I?ve struggled not to gag at DS?s 5 dirty nappies today ? no more prunes for him!

Thanks Jools don?t say a word at work until you really have to, you?ve got too much to lose

Milkmade ? sounds like fun that scan date will be here before you know it silver lining of hospital care is more scans and more chances to see your baby

Welcome Swotty and congrats LOL I know what you mean about going over your due date and watching everyone around you go I stopped reading my AN thread because I got so fed up DS turned up 9 days late!!

I?ve got some really sore spots on my jaw line and neck had these last pg too so know they are hormone related ? do you think it?s safe to put TCP on them?

MrsMcJnr · 15/10/2008 23:11

Whoops! Sorry replied too soon

Flynn ? poor you hon, it?s a horrible, scary waiting game (I?ve been there too) try to be as positive as you can, if you are 4-5 weeks then it would be hard for anything to be seen in the sac at this stage. What shape was the sac? Remember that the dating based on LMP are often weeks out so try not to focus on that. They say the earliest scans are the most accurate date wise and with DS, he was certainly born closer to original scan dates than dating ones. Everything crossed hon xx

Bigcar ? that?s exactly what my sis says about what people say once you?ve had 2 DC and in her case, ?she?ll be trying for a girl then? as she has 2 boys.

Welcome and congrats Bluebutterfly how old is DS? Same digestive issues here

Jools ? yum! Pink grapefruit. Like you I got addicted when TTC DS spinning! My tum is doing that on it?s own without a bike ? that?s dedication girl!

VickyJane fabulous news! Now try to remember that sight when you start to worry and take it easy Beans like Cooked Humans grow at different rates

Froggy ? just come and chat we?ll soon all know each other well!

Welcome and congrats CoteDazur

Llynnnn ? I fancy something and then it never tastes as good when I get it apart from cheese

Insy ? but it?s your right hon!! If I were you I?d keep quiet until you go back and then decide whether or not it?s time to tell. Besides you could feasibly not have even known you were pg at the meeting!

lilacpink · 15/10/2008 23:32

Hi all, please remove my name from the list. Unfortunately scan this morning was not positive. 8+ weeks sac, but tiny fetus, no heart beat. Was advised to have 'help' at hospital pm today, and will find out later if it was a missed miscarriage or otherwise. Hospitalstaff were lovely and my family, (particularly my 2.5 yr old dd) will keep me sane. I'm going to look into other sites for support, but wish you all do well and (to not worry anyone who hasn't read my earlier thred) would say what I've had is very unusual and I did have irregular red bleeding(and even with this I could have been ok, just not ok for me this time). So hope all other beans are ok.

daisy5 · 16/10/2008 08:11

Oh lilacpink - I am so terribly sorry. It is just so heartbreaking. Do go over to the miscarriage page, as there are lots of lovely people who are really supportive. It happened to me back in June - I found out at 11weeks that it never made it to 9 weeks. I didn't think I had it in me to try again but here I am. There are so many woman who go on to have healthy happy babies. All the best.

MrsMcJnr - now that is extraordinary!!! We are due on the same day, have the same scan date and had the same consultant in Spain for a 12 week scan. What are the odds!!!!! I loooooved Dr Beral. He listened, asked many questions, never rushed me and was a star. You are so lucky. I remember the office. Lots of marble and design books - I thought it made a refreshing change from real 'medical' waiting rooms. He even gave up his lunchtime to fit me in - how nice was that. I doubt he remembers me, but do say that for an ex patient he was the high point of my medical treatment during my pregnancy and I now have a healthy beautiful 2.5 year old daughter.

Hello everyone else - jools that spinning sounds impressive. Cote - I'm sure we were on another thread together at some time - hi ya.

Jools1 · 16/10/2008 09:01

Morning all

Really really sorry to hear your news Lilacpink You sound so calm and together - I hope you continue to get the support you need from DC and family

As for the Spinning - I didn't really want to go and struggled a lot - kept going for the 45 minutes and got a workout, but not to my normal standard. I HAVE to keep exercising to try and keep the weight down, so I think it is sheer determination that gets me to the gym sometimes ! I was unusually tired afterwards, so need to rethink whether it is a good idea or not - may keep on till 12 weeks but I think this class will be the first one to go.

Milkmade · 16/10/2008 09:10

Jools - I carried on spinning till 33 weeks with my last pg (stopped when my bump didn't actually fit behind the handlebars anymore...) and swore it stopped me getting back pain etc, but since dd was born have been a total of um 4 times... Maybe stime to start again - but it's tricky cos the calsses are on at bath and bed time so if I go I don't see her at all of a night.

Jools1 · 16/10/2008 09:33

Thats encouraging re the Spinning MilkMade I have seen the odd more heavily PG woman in there, but it is quite unusual and a lot of people have suggested that Spinning isn't the greatest PG exercise, but I find it a good calorie burner, so will try to keep going as long as I feel comfortable. Did you have the handlebars quite high ? I raised mine a little yesterday as it felt like I was squashing my tum - they need to go a bit higher though I think.

Maybe I just need to get there earlier and bag the bike right under the aircon unit

bigcar · 16/10/2008 10:21

Morning everyone!

So so sorry to hear your news lilacpink x

MrsMcJnr, yep, I had that the other way round, so you'll be trying for a boy then, it's very frustrating. As it happened it was a boy, dh said to me,it's a boy, and all I could think to say was, are you sure?

chocciedooby · 16/10/2008 11:03

So very sorry lilacpink

flynn1984 · 16/10/2008 11:21

Morning all.

lilacpink I'm very sorry about your mc, I hope you are ok and have the support of your loved ones to get through this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with you x

Well after my early scan results yesterday all I can do is think of the negative (which can't be a good thing!) Got to go back for my next blood tests tomorrow morning. The result from yesterdays bloods showed hormone levels of over 1130 which the midwife said is pretty normal this stage in pregnancy so I'm holding onto that thought, also done research on net which shows that it could be normal and that due to irregular cycles I might not be as far on as what midwife thought. I will keep you guys updated as soon as I get any news tomorrow. After the trouble I had ttc I really hope this sticks. I had told family too and hate the thought of "letting them down".

Quick question, do you guys think doing karate when pregnant is a good or bad idea, I'm a black belt and would have liked to keep this up but DH says no way!

Laura x
