Brand new BFP's - anyone due a June 2009 baby?

summerbird · 27/09/2008 15:37

Hi there

Did the test last night even though DH wanted me to wait a few days. I wanted to just do it to see if i could have a glass of wine or not and hoo-bloody-rah after 6 months of TTC number one i got a BFP on the free ClearBlue digital test!

So need to get a GP appointment but reckon i am due on 5 June 2009.

Anyone want to join me?

AAArrrggghh , i've had sore (.)(.)'s all day, felt sick and tired, so pleased because it's normal, then I've just had some more brown discharge!!! I just don't know what to think.

Jools1 · 12/10/2008 19:40

VickyJane - everything I've read - and I'm a paranoid worry wort so have read A LOT !) indicates that brown discharge is old blood and therefore not anything to worry about - could be left over from implantation, or egg burrowing deeper into the uterus.

I've also read that, if the blood is not accompanied by cramping, that is a GOOD sign.

I can't tell you not to worry (cos I would) but the odds are most definitely in your favour.

I've been getting very mild stretching cramps just on the left side and ended up obsessively googling ectopic pregnancy symptoms earlier

Nemoandthefishes · 12/10/2008 19:47

VJ I know its hard not to stress but with both my ds and dd2 I had bleeding and cramps yet they are here giving me a headache. Just try to rest as much as possible

Jools1 · 12/10/2008 19:54

I've found a good MN thread with loads of positive stories about bleeding and going on to have happy, healthy pregnancies - you can see from this that m/c always seems to be bleeding PLUS severe cramps - hope that helps

VickyJane77 · 12/10/2008 20:01

Thanks Nemo and Jools. I bled with ds and he's 5 now, nearly 6, so when I bled in June I wasn't too worried but look how that turned out. I'm just going to rest some more and try not to think about it too much. Will log back in tomorrow xxx

summerbird · 12/10/2008 20:28

take it easy vickyjane and have a good rest, if you arent cramping too then i think you will be fine, but just you have a good chill.

i am knackered and might go to bed now - it is not even 8.30! but that is surely a good sign..

is anyone else having on off symptoms? today i have felt absolutely fine, no nausea, no sore boobs, i think i am only tired as i was up late on friday and saturday. My mum is constantly telling me not to worry.

Having said that i am in Barcelona next week and will be exactly 7 weeks, bet that is when the sickness kicks in

OP posts:
Jools1 · 12/10/2008 20:40

Summerbird - I'm pretty much symptomless now - Nausea left the building on Thurs after having the worst day so far. As for sore boobs - I've worked out now that they are not as sore in the mornings (when I tend to panic) but get worse throughout the day.

I'm not even really that tired - have had two very active days with no issues - but have had some stretching pains this evening, which I welcomed as proof I am actually PG ! If I'm ever really unsure, I got and read the MN Birth Announcements - guaranteed to get the PG hormones going and make me cry

7+2 today and meeting the midwife tomorrow

MrsMcJnr · 12/10/2008 21:46

Hey all, we are all really at that vunerable stage aren?t we? Take great care of yourselves ladies

Oh Sparkle I am so so sorry as all of us know who have been through it, it doesn?t matter how long you were pg for, your mind jumps ahead and you now need to mourn the loss of the person you?d created in your mind. Sending hugs and empathy. Look after yourself hon, remember that your body is very confused right now xx

Vickyjane ? I?ve been having the same discharge, scary isn?t it? I have had it before though both in my pregnancy that did work out and in the one that didn?t. Fingers crossed all is well. My Dr also said not to worry about brown discharge or a little red spotting as it can be a blood vessel breaking whilst the placenta is being created. I thought I?d share that as that is one explanation I hadn?t heard before. I shall also heed your drs warning but it is hard to rest with an 8 month old. Yesterday I managed a nap but I really had to as I felt so sick.

Help ? fingers crossed for you too

Jools ? all you say is very true remember though that symptoms come and go hope the MW appointment goes well

Choccie ? mine will be 15 months apart, any coping tips you can give me would be gratefully received!

Welcome Nemo and congrats!

Hello everyone else ? another few symptoms have arrived here ? vivid dreams (probably due to the cheese! ) and sore spots along my jaw line ? had both with DS!

insywinsyspider · 12/10/2008 22:29

hello, I'm tentively adding myself - fertilty friend says I'm due 21st June - still bit in shock it happened so quick, I've got 2 ds's, 2.5 yrs and 10 months - I had faint positive on fri so will test tomorrow to make sure its actually true!

helpivegottogivebirth · 13/10/2008 05:48

hi thanks for our thoughts everyone. so far the bean has decided to stay put and there have been no more blood stains. plus the sickness went up a gear today, though i haven't actually been sick yet.
I'm flying out to frankfurt tomorrow for a sales conference for three days - i bet it'll kick in then!
Told close family (as its our first) - it's really cool once a few people know because you get so much advice and input. Fantastic.

onehitwonder · 13/10/2008 07:48

Hello everyone.

Sparkle so very sorry to hear your news. Good luck and hope to see you back very soon.

Choccodooby - noticed you were the same day as me. Although if this one is anything like DD I should have started a July thread (she was 2 weeks late).
After feeling vile Thursday and Friday, I am feeling a lot better. Nausea has subsided and headache gone. I went to Boots on Saturday and bought everything I could think of to get rid of headaches - migraine strips. Saline nose spray which I am hoping will help with sinuses. Lavendar oil. And the lovely chemist told me that I can use paracetamol if needs be, which I don't think was what I was told last time. I will try not to, but nice to know it is an option if I am desparate.

Pregnancy brain has definately kicked in though - I keep finding myself staring off into the distance. Should be fun at work.

yoshimi · 13/10/2008 08:26

Hello ladies-

Sparkle so sorry to hear your news.
Well I've spent the past week being so tired I have to go to bed by 9.30 then waking up at the crack of dawn! It's amazing how much effort it takes to do anything at the moment- not great timing as we're moving house on Thursday- luckily my DH is being wonderful.
No internet at home for a week or so by I'll try to keep up with you all

xx

bigcar · 13/10/2008 09:22

Morning all!

Yoshimi, hope your move goes well and you're not too lost without your internet

It's good to hear everyone has had a reasonably good weekend. I managed to spend most of yesterday with my feet up, couldn't get the energy to do much else, the sicky feeling's not wearing off at all. Thankfully dd2 and ds didn't have any homework, doesn't happen very often!

Hope your appointment goes well today jools.

daisy5 · 13/10/2008 10:08

Hello all,

Well interesting weekend! I had to ask dp if I had washed my hair because I couldn't remember. I almost ran over an old man on a bicycle when leaving the supermarket!! The old familiar headache is back and really hurts my eyes, and the cramps, nausea and back pain comes and goes BUT at least I am not being sick and am not bed bound so that is good. And only 6+2. It is daunting at times isn't it.

I keep wondering if it will be a girl as well because the symptoms are so similar to the ones I had with my daughter. My last pregnancy which resulted sadly in a miscarriage were totally different. Mmmm.

choccie - obviously pregnancy brain has turned my counting skills to mush. I am struggling to imagine how I will cope with 2, let alone 3. Although I think three children would be a lovely number. I wish I had started years ago, but am 41 now so if no. 2 works out, I think I will have to retire after him/her.

summerbird, MrsMcJnr, VickyJane - gosh we are all due on the same day. What surprises me, as I've realised I don't know anybody born in June. How unlikely is that? Hope discharge slowing VickyJane. MrsMcJnr - did I read that you live in Spain? Or am I confusing you with someone else?

Welcome insywinsy.

Hope the travelling goes ok help and summerbird

So sorry Sparkle. Good luck next time.

onehitwonder - Poor you. That cold sounds so nasty. Urgh!

daisy5 · 13/10/2008 10:23

...and welcome nemo too - wow 7 pregnancies - I take my hat off to you. I wouldn't have the stamina!!!

chocciedooby · 13/10/2008 12:04

Hi everyone.
MrsMcJnr a 15 month gap has its ups and downs like all age gaps I suppose.Things don't really get too difficult until the lo starts crawling around and getting into DC1's toys!!!You will have no problems though and will adjust as you go along.I am so glad I had a small age gap between Dc1 and dc2 as they are now best friends and play brilliantly together (most of the time).

Onehitwonder I have horrid head cold too
I sneezed last night in bed and was writhing in agony as my stomach muscles pulled and stretched. When I got up this morning all was fine. I washed, dressed etc and then got a sharpish pain on the right hand side.I felt instantly faint and had to lay on the sofa for a while whilst dh made the kids packed lunches. The pain disappeared after taking a visit to the bathroom and I no longer felt faint.I have decided to take it easy today and listen to the fact that my body is changing.

My pregnancy brain has also gone to mush and I am staring into the distance A LOT!

VickyJane77 · 13/10/2008 12:08

Hello ladies
I've got a scan booked for Wednesday afternoon as I've had some proper bleeding now. It comes and goes, but this is what happened last time. Will keep you posted.
Hope everyone else is OK xxx

chocciedooby · 13/10/2008 12:25

Sorry to hear you have been bleeding VickyJane77. Will be keeping everything crossed for you.
((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))

llynnnn · 13/10/2008 13:38

hey all!

Vickyjane - I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best, really hope you are ok xx

i felt soooooo sick this morning, think getting up with dd at 6am didnt help. and all she wanted me to do was sit on the floor and build towers!! I just wanted to go back to sleep on the sofa!! not good!! It is so similar to my last pg tho, by the time i've had lunch i feel fine for the rest of the day, i have true 'morning' sickness!!

chocciedooby - hope you are feeling better today and havent had anymore pains, its easy to forget all thats going on inside isnt it when you look the same from the outside!! i think this pg malarky is def easier once you have a bump!!

daisy - wonder if i'm having another girl as i feel exactly the same as last time too!! dh would really like a boy this time tho!!

yoshimi - good luck with the move, remember to take it easy tho and no heavy lifting!!

onehitwonder - hope you are feeling better now too and can get on with being pregnant without having to worry about a cold too!!

insywinsy - welcome!! hope you are doing ok, you are due on my wedding anniversary!!

jools - ive heard that about the brown blood being old too and nothing to worry about. i had those cramping pains on my left side too, not nice is it!! not had them for a while now tho (touchwood!!)

hope everyone else is well

take care of yourselves and your little tiny ones

Jaamy · 13/10/2008 15:00

Just popping to say congratulations to you all! And a great big . Hope you stay healthy and beans arrive safe and sound.

BTW - don't believe a word Nemo says...she's a big fibber!!! Speak to you soon lovely! x

flynn1984 · 13/10/2008 15:18

Hiya

Met with midwife on Friday, who is lovely and told me I'm 7 - 8 weeks pg!
Due to the trouble I had getting pg she has booked me to have an early pregnancy scan on Wednesday morning.
I was wondering if anyone can advise what will be seen at the scan, some people have told me I will see/hear the baby's heartbeat is this true?
I keep reading stuff on the net and it is totally worrying me now, as I'm petrified of mc.

My thoughts are with you Vickyjane and everyone else who is worried or suffering bad symptoms.

Laura x

llynnnn · 13/10/2008 18:28

Flynn - in my last pg i had a scan at about 6-7 weeks iirc I could see dd's heartbeat really clearly. it didnt look like a baby though!! just a round little heartbeat really!! made it all seem very real and amazing though. good luck, make sure you let us know how u get on!!

leaky · 13/10/2008 18:57

Hi everyone

Well the tiredness is definitely kickin in now & slight feelings of qeasiness but I'm reminding myself that that's what I wanted

Thinking of all of those who are having spotting or bleeds & hope it all passes with nothing to worry about.

Looking forward to 7.30pm when both my boys will be in bed & I can relax properly for the 1st time today.Saying that,my DH is wonderful & has just done their bathtime, knowing I'm probably sitting on here, hehe

NotSoRampantRabbit · 13/10/2008 21:40

Hi All

Have had a really busy weekend and am feeling absolutely dreadful.

Nauseous from morning to night, heartburn, exhausted and a headache - would like to sleep for next month and wake up feeling human again.

Everything tastes horrid except bombay mix and ginger beer!

Went to gp's this morning. EDD is June 3rd but I have unpredictable cycle so lord knows what my actual dates are. Am hoping I might wangle a dating scan.

Hope everyone is well and coping with symptoms.

insywinsyspider · 13/10/2008 21:53

hello to everyone too
llynnn - great day to get married but not sure I like the idea of being due on the longest day of the year! although dh and I have having some great speculative conversations about hippy names as baby due summer solstice
sorry to hear about everyone whos experiencing scarey bleeding, I had this with ds2, its a worrying time but hope bean sticks x
its still early early days for us, I've still got a foot in the conception threads too but finding it so hard not to get excited
