thanks a lot Divedaisy with all your information, I'll have a look at it. And thank everyone else for answering too. I think I will have warm baths but in a few months cos they really help you with stress and pain.
As for symptoms I don't have many either but I'm happy about it. Still feel nauseous many times but not really sick. Tired a lot. For all of you who don't have symptoms I think there is nothing to worry about if you don't have any big bleeding what could mean MC. So be happy to not feel sick nor tired nor nauseous.
Hope scans go well for all of you today or in this week. Best wishes.

justgotbfp · 01/10/2008 08:53

Wow go back into hospital for a bit and look what happens a whole new thread!!!
I haven't read it all so haven't caught up on who is new etc but hope everyone is well. As I said have been back in hospital, was very, very sick but finally under control now. They have put me on a drug usually given to cancer patients which is a little alarming but without it I can't manage without the nasal gastric tube and hydration. While I worry about the effects (they have assured me it is tested and safe just not often used unless hyperemisis is very bad) I must say that it is nice to be both out of hospital and feeling almost human. I can eat on my own and while I am still throwing up a bit it is not every time I sit up or turn over or breath too deeply which to me is fantastic and feels 1000 times more controllable. I am officially 10 weeks on thursday and when I get to 12 I will go back into hospital for a few days while they trial taking me off the medication, if not then we will try again at 14 weeks.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 01/10/2008 09:26

Hi all, have had an early scan today. Not good news according to the medics my pregnancy is "not viable" no heartbeat you see. I have to see my GP tomorrow to see what happens next ... does anyone know? Will I have to have a d & c? Am 8 wks today.

Feel blardy fed up about it.

Anyway, have taken my name off the list. Good luck to all the rest of you, I hope you all have easy and relaxed pregnancies and happy babies x

ClaudiaSchiffer - really sorry to hear your news I have no experience or advise to offer you but I'm sure someone will be along soon. Take care of yourself. I won't get any scans till a private one at 12 weeks but am seriously thinking of paying for an early scan aswell - the not knowing and wondering is hideous.

JustGotBFP - sorry to hear you are having such a bad time of it - and there is me bemoaning my lack of symptoms

DiveDaisy - sorry I logged off - I tend to be glued to the laptop in the evenings but am making sincere efforts to turn it off and actually talk to DP from time to time

My cat jumped on my tum last night - panicked me a bit so I might have to shut both of them out of the bedroom - or am I being paranoid ?

This morning I've had to go into the London office and the travelling does make me slightly queasy. I'm also having stronger cramps this morning and had an "oh my god, IBS, where is the loo" panic on Euston Rd earlier on. Am frantically knicker checking several times an hour at the mo.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 01/10/2008 10:13

Claudia schiffer sorry so for your dreadful news look after yourself and your dh thinking of you....

Justgotabfp I ended up on ondansetron last time for about half the pregnancy dd was absolutely fine, the biggest reason it's not routinely prescribed in pregnacy is surprise surprise....

cost!!!! each packet was about £100 iirc, but nothing else worked for me good luck and I hope this does it for you... no ms yet here, but it is a strange feeling wishing for it!!! ( I just want to know everything is ok)

Dive daisy LOL at your posts to self normally am on around that tiome but had an (immensely) boring preschool committee meeting to attend ( nightmare finacially situation ) would much rather havebeen mn'ing

CoteDAzur · 01/10/2008 10:38

Claudia

Still no symptoms here. My first scan is in two weeks and I'm afraid I might get the same bad news.

aquababe · 01/10/2008 10:58

Claudia I'm really sorry for your loss.
The next steps depends on you and what you want. If your the type of person who likes to let nature take it's course or if you just want it over and done with now so you can move on.
I started bleeding at 8 1/2 weeks and the baby came out a few days later, which suited me, but some people prefer the D& C. As they are unsure of what to do with what comes out. Theres a good mc avengers thread where the ladies are very supportive and have all been through it too.

justgotbfp wow your still having such a tough time.

got through yesterday which was the anniversary of my 1st mc tough but I'm still here and looks like baby is too. my next scan seems a life time away

ClaudiaSchiffer · 01/10/2008 11:49

Thanks for all your kind words, and thanks for the info aquababe. cote try not to worry about not having symptoms, I have felt utterly horrid and sick for the last few weeks, had no bleeding or cramps and it all has gone wrong. It's all a very odd and mysterious business if you ask me. x

frazzledoldbag34 · 01/10/2008 12:00

So sorry Claudia . Thinking of you.
justgotbfp - God, how awful things have been for you. So glad they're finally getting it under control.
divedaisy - the lingerie is HotMilk - sounds horrid doesnt it! But is absolutely gorgeous. Am planning on ordering some myself soon.....

Have been feeling a bit better with m/s the last couple of days and it has definitely been since I upped my Vit B6 dose from 25 to 50mg. Nausea has gone from horrible to bearable (even low-level) during the day, getting worse after 9pm but I can deal with that. Have stopped using the vibrating wrist band thing as for some inexplicable reason the THOUGHT of it makes me feel nauseous!!!! How weird.

By the way, am eating like an absolute pig - so far today in the last 5 hours I have eaten:
1/2 banana
1 bacon roll
1 ginger biscuit
2 crumpets
Chunk of baguette dipped in hummus
1 hot chocolate and 2 cups of tea.
Oh my god! And it's not even lunch time yet.
Need to cut down, but when I feel a bit nauseous if I just eat something I feel fine again. Oh dear.
Looking forward to my scan next Thurs. Am on a countdown! although slightly nervous about it too.

divedaisy · 01/10/2008 12:03

Spanglemaker thanks for that info - I'll have a wee peep and see what's on offer!

Claudia - so so sorry. I went through the same thing in April. I chose to have a D&C and got it the same day. I didn't want to go through the distress of letting nature take its course, but for some that's what they choose. For me the D&C worked - it was very emotional etc still. You'll do what's right for you. Good luck.xx

justgotbfp - and i thought my ms was bad! Poor you that sounds just horrendous! I hope you are feeling more human again.

I've just wolfed down two tomato and onion with salad cream floury baps - and the salad cream has gone everywhere!!! DH had a go at me last night about the way I'm eating. He is so worried that I'll put on excessive weight, but he doesn't understand at all about the way the nausea, ms and nasty taste work on you. I NEED to eat to take the taste away - citrus things work best I find. He told me off for eating a pizza on Monday night - shared between me, him and DS - and he got some of mine because I couldn't eat it! He is making me feel so anxious to eat in front of him which isn't right. Then he'll come off with 'well you wanted to get pregnant' - as if it's all my fault or something. Anyway, I'm off now to eat 2 boiled eggs also - all healty food, not a sweet in sight.

SpangleMaker · 01/10/2008 12:41

claudia so sorry about what's happened Make sure you get lots of support x

justgotbfp what a dreadful time you've had! I hope the medication works for you and you can return to some sort of reality.

divedaisy grrr at your DH! It may be that he is worried about how you will feel if you feel you put on too much weight, but is not expressing it very well. Perhaps you could assure him you are very aware of what you are eating and you're happy it's ok and the baby is getting what he/she needs.

OK so I have so far had today:

glass orange juice
2 slices wholemeal toast
2 cups of tea
handful dried fruit nut & seed mix
handful fruit gums
2 slices w/m toast with houmous
packet l/f crisps
yoghurt

REALLY fancied a pastry this morning but kept thinking about all the twiglets I ate last night Have banana/grapes for the afternoon but not sure that will last me til I get home.

SpangleMaker · 01/10/2008 12:43

justgotbfp reality?? that should be normality (am distracted by the conversation at the next desk & keep typing things they are saying!!)

OP posts:
Jools1 · 01/10/2008 13:02

Spanglemaker - I am impressed by your food list - I think you are probably allowed to eat a little more

So far I've had:

Bowl of cereal
Small banana
Small kitkat
Ham and tomato sandwich
Packet of low fat crisps
2 cups of tea.

Am just going for a wander down Euston Rd and may pick up some frozen yoghurt and strawberries (really yummy) from a sushi place on the way. That leaves me only a tangerine to eat later, and I've booked myself a place in a Spinning class at 6pm (eek !)

farrah · 01/10/2008 13:18

DiveDaisy, tell your husband off from me! Say the baby needs fat and carbs; what will he know about it anyway?

Claudia, so sad to hear about your news. hugs

CoteDAzur · 01/10/2008 13:23

I'm eating very healthy & light (ex: steamed fish, green veggie puree, and 2 large prunes for lunch) but can't give up the single cup of coffee per day. Do you think I should?

Jools1 · 01/10/2008 14:08

Cote - I was given an info leaflet by my GP that talks about limiting caffeine but doesn't tell you to cut it out completely. I will double check when I get home from work, but am pretty sure it says 2 cups of coffee or 3 cups of tea are OK per day. I have tea in the morning and a smaller cup when I get to work, then switch to fruit teas.

I don't personally think one cup of coffee would hurt ...

Momino · 01/10/2008 14:37

Claudia, so sorry for your sad news. All best wishes.
Justgotbfp, welcome back from hosp, hope things are on the way up now and you feel a bit better.

Momino · 01/10/2008 14:38

cote, I had coffee through last pregnancies and am drinking 1-2 cups a day now. I think moderate caffeine is fine.

Jools1 · 01/10/2008 14:51

Do you think anyone would notice if I just crawled under my desk and had a short siesta ?

Momino · 01/10/2008 15:01

I would! And I'm likely to join you. Am really hungry tho, but can't think of anything nice to eat.

Momino · 01/10/2008 15:29

found the right snack: dairylea toasted sandwich with Green &Black hot choc sprinkled with cinnamon - giving me some energy!

mags98 · 01/10/2008 15:53

Sorry to hear your bad news Claudia. The same thing happened to me in my first pregnancy (although I did see a heartbeat in an earlier scan but the baby was far too small for the dates). I have to go back to work now, but can tell you more later, if you like.

I do have some good news though - my scan today showed a baby in the right place, with a heartbeat - 7mm long, This works out at 6 weeks 2 days which is a few days off (I thought more like 6+5,) but he did say that before 7 weeks it can be a bit inaccurate, so it fits more or less with my dates and that is a good sign. Suggested another scan in 3 weeks time.

Still having a bit of brown spotting, but it is very reassuring to know that all so far is OK.

Momino · 01/10/2008 16:21

that's great news mags.
on my side, I've had my booking in appt with mw today and heard a heartbeat! It's quite early at 9/10 weeks so I wasn't confident but she said she'd try anyway and after some searching found a tiny but strong heartbeat. it has made the pregnancy a bit more real and, as mags said, very reassuring. Can't wait for the scan now.

runningmonkey · 01/10/2008 16:26

Hi All,

Claudia sorry to hear your news. Make sure you get support and lots of hugs.

just gotbfp sounds like you have been having a terrible time, hope the pills work out ok.

Not been too bad today except I seem to be feeling really nauseous from about 2pm onwards. I think I might not be eating enough at lunchtime but I can't really face much more than a couple of slices of toast and an apple. I have just got in from work and eaten an apple and some cheese which seems to have helped.

I also got some lemon and ginger tea from tesco (might have mentioned this before so sorry if I have) which has helped massively with the nausea. It tastes nice too.

Oh yeah, pregnancy brain is definitely kicking in today - sprayed my hair with toner rather than leave in conditioner this morning... doh!

SpangleMaker · 01/10/2008 18:40

Mags congrats on your scan - you must be hugely relieved.

Momino that's lovely, I didn't realise you could hear a heartbeat so early.

runningmonkey we get the Twinings Lemon & Ginger tea. My step-mum started me on it a few years ago and we drink it every night.

Still thinking about food - got a Tescos Finest chicken with mozarella & pancetta I fancy tonight. Generally try to avoid ready meals but I've given in to pg laziness tiredness.

Does anyone else feel their body clock has shifted? DH & I are 'late' people (him more than me) - normally we tend to eat around 8.30pm and go to bed 11.30 - midnight even though I have to get up for work at 6.20am, dragging myself out of bed. Now I feel like I need to be in bed by 10.30 and wake up naturally at 6am - totally unheard of for me!
