FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:24

same site in a different article says December! now i'm confused

detsy · 17/10/2008 22:25

FiKelly can you tell me exactly what savings are.....

Christmas presents?????? No way, just not thinking about it other than some for little sproglet but its her birthday first so ahve to get my lardy bottom into gear!

Think will be sunuggled in duvet very soon. Sprog been off colour today and I feel poo now - really think head and woozy so think we have yet another nursery bug, grreaatt.

Sleep tight all and talk soon

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:27

Ahh def dec.. this article was written in sept and says she's 6 months. Don't think I'd be brave enough to wear that dress though. Too many wobbly bits

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:28

detsy to me savings are the funds recvd of the things I've recently sold on ebay and haven't spent yet!

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:29

Oh, she surely can't be due in December! I heard her on Jonathan Ross weeks ago (radio show) and she said she was due in 5 wks. And that was ages ago (can't even remember when exactly - duh, no brain left).

Feel better soon detsy

Sleep tight ladies. Off to bed (after my cereal fix of course!)

llareggub · 17/10/2008 22:31

It has taken me ages to catch up with this thread! We've been in Cornwall for a week and have had beautiful weather. On Monday we swam outdoors in the (very) heated pool and had some lovely days on the beach.

It was very good to have time each day to have a nice long nap. Some days I slept for 2 hours! DS was exhausted by the walking and beach going so slept for a good 12-13 hours each night and woke at a very civilised 8am, far better than his usual 6.20am.

We stayed here which is truly toddler heaven.

spanglemaker I am very spooked to read your name choices, as they are the exact same names as those on our shortlist! DH also likes Ptolemy for a boy (which I have vetoed) but I am very happy with Edward.

My 12 week scan is on Monday and I have an appointment with the consultant on 14 November. He is the same chap who got me pregnant first time around so I am looking forward to turning up with our unassisted pregnancy number 2!

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:36

llareggub The cottages look lovely must have been a tranquil break even with LO

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:40

off to bed too I'm afraid. have a good night all

Momino · 17/10/2008 23:04

i'm sureyou've all just gone to bed. boo. i'm just fighting going to bed and I don't know why since a little 2.5 year old will be waking me up sporadically during the night with a yell.

i've just been on ebay bidding for clothes for dd1 - why am i shopping? i don'thave the money! or, i should be saving! i really find pleasure in buying my girls clothes though. which is why i'd better have a boy this time or we'll be broke with me shopping.

i've a really close friend who's trying for a baby and had 2 recent mc. i thought enough time passed since her 2nd mc and told her gently i was pregnant. she seemed ok then got teary. ifeel so guilty! but don't know when would have been the right time to tell her. i'm sad forher but hope that she'll get preg again soon.

feeling tired now and will try to move out of this chair. hopeyou're all well, in bed, sleeping soundly. maybe catch up tomorrow.

Jennster · 18/10/2008 04:43

Awake awake awake. I've baked bread, done washing up, folded nappies, put a wash on, and am just about to make a massive pot of bolognaise. I'm going to portion some up for a friend who is expecting any day.

Jennster · 18/10/2008 04:44

OH and I think I'm going to have to break the pg to a friend who is having trouble ttc no2. She has had a miscarriage since.

Jennster · 18/10/2008 05:26

Just started my Christmas shopping, and bid on an IO top on E-Bay. Think I'm going to try and go to sleep again.

hallo · 18/10/2008 07:53

Sorry as usual have been away so long it is impossible to catch up with all that has happened. Am still struggling with hyperemisis. The ondansetron was helping for a little while but went down hill slowly but surely and went in for hydration yesterday. They have added maxalon back in and if no improvement with try me on stemitil?? I think as well. Am 12 weeks so hopefully it doesnt last too much longer. I am not having an early scan so will have to wait until 14 week midwife check to hear heartbeat so have a bit of anxiety till then. I am already very big in the belly though that may because of losing so much weight with vomitting that everything just sticks out so much more!! Hope everyone else is well and will update list as ds has had his 4th birthday. By the way anyone else have very strong feelings about gender...I really don't mind which baby is but have a very strong 'feeling' that it is a boy.

whoops sorry friend was housesitting and used my mnet connection so still has her nick I didnt check I will go and fix it (still not saying who I am until I hear that heartbeat) not that I think anyone will have a clue in the world who I am once I reveal but friends do post and we haven't told everyone yet.

SesHasapinkline · 18/10/2008 08:02

Hi all

Sorry not posted for a few weeks. Have been busy moving house and my only Internet access at the moment is via my phone as laptop died. Hope to go and buy a desktop today!
I'm also still struggling to accept that I'm pg. I've even had an early scan at 8 weeks where we saw bean with a heartbeat. I have my 12 week scan on 28th and I hope that goes ok and helps. With 1st mc it was at 12 week scan that we found out baby had died at 6 weeks. I know quite a few of you have unfortunately mc before so I'm sure I'm not alone in my worryings.
I get frustrated with myself when instead of excitedly saying to myself "I'm nearly 11 weeks!" I instead think "In theory I'm nearly 11 weeks"

Anyway, enough rambling from me!

Hope everyone else is doing fine. I'll try and catch up on some of what I've missed...

SpangleMaker · 18/10/2008 10:46

Morning all

Jennster impressed at you putting insomnia to such good use!

llareggub that is REALLY freaky, are we married to the same man??!! DH suggested Ptolemy too, I do quite like it but worried about how the poor child would be treated at school. He also likes George, but that's my brother's name and I feel it would be too weird to use it for our DC.

detsy did you manage to find some decent work clothes? I'm fine at home for the time being but already struggling at work as I was getting a bit lardy for some of my stuff even before pg Can't seem to find much inspiration among maternity collections, esp for meetings etc when I need to look smart.

Lovely & sunny here, hope everyone else is having a nice day!

Oh SesHasapinkline - try not to worry. Our consultant told us that having seen a healthy heartbeat and a correctly sized fetus at 8 wks gives a very high probability of things continuing and progressing normally. I do understand your anxiety though obviously. Not long now until your 12 wks scan. Am keeping everything crossed for you (not that you need it!)

Jennster · 18/10/2008 12:26

Wasn't Ptolemy an Egyptian pharoh who married his sister?

Febes · 18/10/2008 12:32

How do you pronounce the names is it as read or am I missing something.

SpangleMaker · 18/10/2008 12:45

I think of Ptolemy the astronomer, but according to Wikipedia there was a general under Alexander the Great who became ruler of Egypt, not sure about marrying his sister though. More recently but less grandly, there is also that architectural historian on TV.

Febes, it's pronounced 'Tollemy'.

If we lived in a hugely posh area and could afford a top private school I'd think about it but sadly our circumstances aren't that privileged!

I quite like Felix, but DH has ruled that out because of the cat food.

OP posts:
SesHasapinkline · 18/10/2008 13:38

Frazzled - thanks for your reassurances. That helped.

I think we have a boy and a girl name sorted but not sure I want to say just yet... Others on our list for a girl would have been Hannah, Gemma, Heidi and Libby. For a boy, we've only ever had one name as DH wants to use his grandfather's name.

Momino · 18/10/2008 15:00

i love the name Ptolemy. Strangely I've heard it for a boy and a girl (doesn't seem like a female name).

I absolutely love the name Atticus since 'to kill a mockingbird' is my fave book and film but, like Spanglemaker says, we could only use it if we could afford a private school where there would be other like-named children. otherwise, Atticus will definitely be bullied.

Momino · 18/10/2008 15:02

why does it post twice sometimes? sorry

Jennster · 18/10/2008 15:02

I got that Ptolemy too when I Wikied it. There was a book on Radio4 read out about his sister, and she married her brother at one point (to only secure land) , had children with a Roman and bigamously married somebody else too....or something like that. It was very interesting, but I clearly wasn't paying enough attention.

I think of Ptolemy Dean the posh architect who was on that save a British building series.
