detsy · 17/10/2008 21:52

And Finn was my boy's name last time but got a Charlotte Grace instead

SEBANDELLIOTTSMUM · 17/10/2008 21:53

evening everyone, eldest is away for the weekend with his grandparents at an activity weekend.
got a bit teary thought id enjoy the peace and quiet of only one(haha very deluded on that point)
he didnt want to speak to me he was playing football!!!
feel a bit nervous havent been sick for 2 days but still feel queasy nearly 11 weeks. when did people start feeling better? if you can call it that.
must be thinking the same fikelly ive just wolfed a wispa down!!

detsy · 17/10/2008 21:54

I spent a fortune today on bigger shirts for work but think I am taking them back tomo as they just don't fit properly and make me look like a sack of spuds. I'm just at that stage where smocky maternity tops look silly but my normal shirts make me look like a real porker

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 21:55

SEBANDELLIOTTSMUM I noticed an improvement in the MS last weekend... about 9.5 wks for me.

MsG · 17/10/2008 21:56

Sorry for that post - had to quickly go as I felt sure I was going to throw up. How on earth do people cope with this? I've felt quite queasy occasionally up to now but this is a lot stronger. Does being sick ever relieve the nausea??

detsy · 17/10/2008 21:56

debit card is out now, oh dear think i'm off for a shopping spree on the www

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 21:56

FiKelly - ooh Ruairidh is on our (very short) list too - DH really likes it but I think it sounds weird with our surname (which would rhyme with it). Plus, I can't spell it!
Detsy - thanks for that. Will look into it. Booked in for CVS in 2 wks and wobbling! If I could get a really, really good nuchal result I'd probably be happy with that. Sounds weird but I 'feel' like everything is ok with this baby - does that make sense? I remember that my mum (now sadly dead so can't ask her more about it) said when she was pg with my brother (38 yrs ago) that she 'just knew' the whole way through the pg that something wasn't right. She didn't know what (and of course had no tests in those days) but she said she knew something was wrong. She was right - he had Downs Syndrome (but they didn't tell her for 4 days after the birth, all the while she was saying 'what's wrong with him' and they were saying 'stop being a neurotic mother' .
Sorry, don't know why I'm talking about this now!

detsy · 17/10/2008 21:58

sorry - don't know about sickness as i'm lucky not to have it. However have felt much more normal in the last few weeks (less tired, grumpy and sore) now 11+1 so fits with seb and elliots mum

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 21:59

Arrgh! just watched the last ugly betty in this series... I hate it when they do cliff hangers even when I know there's going to be one!

detsy · 17/10/2008 22:02

Frazzled def worth it if happy with the stats then.

Sorry about your mum I know exactly what your mum meant. I felt something was "wrong" with my 1st pg and miscarried, with Charlotte it felt "right" and was great. So far this one feels "right" as well so I firmly beleive in gut instinct. Good luck with the research - let me know how you get on

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:02

RE: sickness getting better, mine has been improving off and on since about 9 wks. Intermittent nausea still but getting less and less esp in the mornings.

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:03

MsG how many weeks are you now? I remember while pregnant with DS1 my MS got to a pretty unbearable nauseous stage still without any vomiting right before it then went completely at 13/14wks.

MsG · 17/10/2008 22:04

I'm only just 8 weeks - is it normal for the nausea to get worse around this time? I know everyone's different.

I just can't help but worry about everything after m/c last year.

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:09

Thanks detsy.
A couple of my friends also said they felt this and then miscarried just like you describe.
Glad you feel good about this pg too.

OOH what are you going to buy? [wonders if I dare treat myself to new maternity stuff too or just wait for my old stuff to come back from my extremely pg friend in a week or two......]
Bought a long stripy blue and white long sleeve t-shirt from French Connection the other day. It's not maternity but fab as LONG so covers my bulgy bump. Although the horizontal stripes make my boobs look MASSEEEVE.
DH likes that though.

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:10

Yes this time I found my nausea got v bad that week too... as soon as DS1 went to bed at 7pm I was off to snuggle the duvet as well. Watched a lot of crappy telly in bed and took it easy. Was even struggling even to get to sleep at night as the nausea was so bad. It was a difficult thing... fancied drinking milk & hot chocolate.. which eased the nausea enough for me to sleep... but then woke me in the night truly desperate for a pee lol.

SebandElliottsmum · 17/10/2008 22:11

msg i was throwing up a few times a day at 8 weeks. it is worrying after m/c, mine was 12 weeks ago and i still feel like im not going to make it to my scan even though all the signs are positive..
its the longest few weeks of your life but youv just got to take things as easy as possible.

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:11

MsG - I think hormone surges mean it gets worse and better intermittently. Mine got bad just before it started to improve, then improved for a couple of days, then really bad for one (hellish nauseous day and night - ugh - no sleep as too sick) then has been improving ever since.
Fingers crossed you feel better soon.

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:14

Sometimes I feel almost human again

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:15

By the way, I know someone who has BOUGHT and WRAPPED all her Christmas presents already.
WTF!
(She's not in the early stages of pregnancy, by the way)

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:16

I've been shopping on amazon tonight... a few long wanted DVD's and pre ordering a new recipe book. Also won the IO dress I was bidding on ebay... whoopee & not finished spending just yet either! This weekend we're going to buy DS1 a new single bed, mattress, duvet, pillow & bedlinen... that's going to really put a dent in the savings arrgh.

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:17

Talking to myself again
It's an early sign of insanity isn't it?
(or perhaps boredom and pregnancy combined?)

Has Billie Piper had her baby yet does anyone know?
(am watching the 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' at the mo, just reminded me.
Am sure it must be due by now?

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:19

I didn't know Billie was expecting... how hopeless am I! Normally quite good at hearing about that kind of stuff

frazzledoldbag34 · 17/10/2008 22:21

Have just googled and nothing on there, except to say she thinks she's having a boy. Last time I saw her being interviewed she was ginormous. But looking well.

FiKelly · 17/10/2008 22:22

Just googled billie piper pregnant and says she's due november

SebandElliottsmum · 17/10/2008 22:22

dont think so but shes got to be due soon the pictures in now show her to be ready to drop!!!!
