Thanks RunningMonkey - I'm with you on trying all the diets too Was that the Xenical you tried - the one that makes you poo out excess fat ? Absolutely gross and I had an embarrassing accident at work, then gave the rest of the pills away !

I just find that, when I mention the BMI / fitness / muscle thing, I just get blank faces and a pat on the head because people don't believe I am really exercising THAT much and think I am just looking for excuses.

I have a massive great bruise on my arm now - at one point yesterday, the MW had filled up 2 or 3 phials of blood but realised she didn't have one of the ones she needed, so left me holding the needle in my arm whilst she went to get it - that was fine till she pulled the needle out - really stung then.

runningmonkey · 14/10/2008 18:03

Oh god, that was it Xenical - never again in a million years!!

runningmonkey · 14/10/2008 18:04

Meant to say, the needle thing sounds painful. Hope the bruise goes quickly.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 14/10/2008 18:23

sorry girls just have to say for those of us a little green around the gills it really is tmi only joking but omg the things we do........

still nauseous think i might be writing that for the forseable future,

Nikki really pleased at your fab news, I have my dating scan in 2 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it.

Over the bump jeans here any day, i just find anything that sits on or under the bump incredibly uncomfortable, but then again they're not desperately attractive, but I think I'm so far from caring aboy looks atm it's just not funny

right off now to have a laugh at AIBU

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 14/10/2008 18:24

forgot to say hi to jonesy and welcome just dive on in !!

runningmonkey · 14/10/2008 19:09

Sorry Doris!

SEBANDELLIOTTSMUM · 14/10/2008 19:53

SEBANDELLIOTTSMUM · 14/10/2008 19:57

meant to say boat!!

FKelly · 14/10/2008 20:38

Well as expected my doctor also thinks I have an UTI, he's given me a prescription for antibiotics and have to drop in a wee sample tomorrow... so they can make sure the pills are the right type to clear it up. Stocked back up on the cranberry juice... which is having the bonus side effect of helping my constipation

Nausea back tonight too... it seems to get worse when I'm tired. Must have over done it past couple of days taking DS1 to all his activities! Going to try and get to sleep a bit earlier tonight and not stay up late surfing

SEBANDELLIOTTSMUM · 14/10/2008 21:00

im going to be brave and watch ghost whisperer while dh works nights...must be brave xx

LoobyLou36 · 14/10/2008 21:05

Hi. I'm 10+5 weeks and have my first scan on thur - very nervous as I had a mc in june at 5wks. I think I'm due 5th May but if everything goes okay on thur I will post new due date. Have had quite alot of nausea over the last few weeks usually in the evenings when I get more tired. But the nausea, along with the sore boobs and no waist are good signs to me.

MrsEvs · 14/10/2008 21:26

Had my scan today and all well - little heart beating away and correct size for dates to within a day - hurray! They also took 9 vials of blood! Feels so much more real now I've seen him/her . Feel brave enough to dig out the maternity clothes now! They want me back in 2 weeks for my first proper pre-natal appt - apparently today was just a confirmation/dating scan.

Nikkie fab news, so glad all is well

Welcome jonesy

Got so much to do this week - we're heading home to Blighty on Friday which I'm very excited about but not sure about the transatlantic journey with 2 small kids feeling horribly nauseous! Not to mention that 2 weeks after we get back from England we're going to Disney - I'm seriously hoping that the nausea and fatigue has passed off by then because otherwise it will really not be fun!

MrsEvs · 14/10/2008 21:29

Welcome loubylou too

detsy · 14/10/2008 22:08

Hi All - big welcomes to the newbies!
Nikki congratulations - what a huge relief for you.

Had my dating scan today and saw a much more formed little pip squeak wriggling like crazy. Could see fingers and toes - so cute. So am confirmed now as 10+4 and bob on for 8 May. NT Scan at end of the month. Had the ageist lecture from registrar which I just laughed off - can't amke myself younger and am 41 in a few weeks time!

Tried to book my epidural but they were having none of it, lol!

Off to bed got to drive to sunny Slough at 7am tomo, grrreattt

GreenFingeredMummy · 14/10/2008 22:08

Thought I'd say hi. Been feeling really awful for past week so haven't got round to posting. Not even gonna try and catch up, otherwise be up all night!

I had thought my second pregnancy would be better than the first, but this one is starting out to be horrible. I can't shift the feeling of sickness and nausea, constipation and wind. If I had a shotgun I think I might use it. Never felt this bad with dd. Been cleaning my first clients house today and am paying for it big style.

Has anyone found anything that makes you feel better. Im eventually seeing my midwife tomorrow for first appointment, but shes next to useless (was dd's) so not putting out much hope of any great ideas from her.

Oh and a big hello to all the new mums-to-be, nice to see more due on the 20th !!!! And oh so jealous of those having scans, cant wait for mine.

Night all xx

frazzledoldbag34 · 14/10/2008 22:27

Green this may or may not help but my nausea is better when I eat healthily even though it may not be what I fancy. I discovered this by accident - if I eat crisps and heavy meals I feel dreadful later. If I eat soup, salad, fish and veg (even if the thought doesn't appeal) I feel ok later.
Also I take B6 and ginger capsules - not sure how much they help but I'm too scared to stop taking them!
So sorry you feel awful.
BTW my consitipation and wind has also improved since I stopped eating any kind of rubbish I fancied (my inital strategy for coping with the MS). And drinking more water and less tea.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hello new ladies [waves}
Congrats detsy on the wiggly bean. Can't believe they didn't let you get your epidural booked . I want mine booked now too!
Hello everyone else - take care.
Going to have some cereal (to ward off the 3am gross feeling and insomnia) then bed.
Night night ladies and babies.

bantam73 · 15/10/2008 09:02

Morning everyone

I wish I was having a scan but I have no date for one yet. I have my first MW appointment next monday, will be 12wks so hope I will get 1 soon. I'm late seeing my MW cos I've been poorly for 4/5wks and doctor wasn't ready to sign me over but I have now have a clean bill of health so he has. Went back to work this wk after having 3 1/2 wks on sick.

I want my scan just to prove to people that there is only 1 in my bump and thaty dates are right, yes I agree with people my bump does look big for 11wks but it is my 3rd. A friend of mine has 2yr twins and said she was my size at my time with them and they were her 3rd preg, my reply was "Thanks, just what I needed to hear!"

FKelly · 15/10/2008 09:33

Morning everyone I'm totally cream crackered already...

DS (was 2 in aug) was up from 1am to 3am for some reason last night. When asked he said 'no' to sore mouth, wanting medicine, thirsty, hungry & needing nappy changed! Changed him anyway and gave him a drink of milk just in case... but he just wanted to play and went mental when I put him back to bed & tried to leave the room... sigh.

Thankfully this has only happened 3 or 4 times over the past couple of months but I have to admit the cause is a mystery to me... any ideas? BTW he no longer has daytime naps... he gave those up about a month ago & his last 4 back molars are through ok.

So to cheer myself up this morning I'm bidding on an Isabella Oliver The Wrap Dress Size 5 UK 16-18 dress in red. Thought it would be nice for xmas

SpangleMaker · 15/10/2008 09:57

Morning everyone

Welcome to the new joiners

Got my nuchal scan this morning - quite nervous actually! Eeek. Think I'll go distract myself seeing what Isabella Oliver things I can find on ebay in size 12. Not bidding until scan done though.

Jools1 · 15/10/2008 10:01

How exciting Spanglemaker Will be thinking of you this afternoon

I am wishing the weeks away till mine - boobs deflated again quite quickly last night, so of course I starting imagining the worst, even though I was trying to tell myself that it is probably nothing

CoteDAzur · 15/10/2008 10:11

Congratulations to all those who have already had their scans.

Mine is this afternoon

DH and mum (who is visiting) are not allowed to come, because I intend to have a talk with doctor who will follow me through pregnancy about how scared I am of the same torture happening during and after the birth, and will probably break down and cry loads in front of him.

All assuming little bean is healthy, of course.

Momino · 15/10/2008 10:12

hi all. not been on in about a week but hope you're all well.

hello to all the new mums-to-be. to all who've had scans, sound so exciting and am happy for you! mine is next thu and can't wait.

frazzled, i'm going to try your idea on eating healthily to combat nausea as I'm still feeling yukky. am eating rubbish to stop it but not working.

well, back to work now so see you all later.

MrsEvs · 15/10/2008 13:08

FKelly Could it be bad dreams? My eldest went through that at about 2, I think it's the age. She didn't wake up screaming or anything, she just woke up, didn't want to go back to sleep in case she had another and didn't really want me to leave her for a while. Took us ages to figure it out because she didn't explain that that was what was going on - I'm not sure she knew how to.

Ugghh, I felt sick as a dog last night and DH wasn't home til late. I was bathing the kids and clinging to the edge of the bath for dear life. Thankfully feeling a lot better this morning

MrsEvs · 15/10/2008 13:09

Good luck Spangle and Cote!
