Thought I'd better start the thread since a) I've never done it before b) I'm not actually in labour right now c) it'll take all the 9 remaining posts on the previous thread to get the link to this one done correctly!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

tread tut tut! we're supposed to all pop on the same day! ahhh, but i suspect you've waited long enough, you go on and have that wee one tonight/tomorrow, eh?

at least one of us has the strong hunch of it happening!!!

today, i waddled around the shops with a pal of mine and our children. i didn't have any niggles at all...i'm just suffering now from aching feet and an incredibly sore lower pelvic area. (((feels like i need to put an ice-pack in my undies )))
sorry, tmi.

oh, and i woke up with the largest bit of "cauliflower" on my lower lip!! ((((of course i mean, a nasty cold sore))) i haven't had one in ages, and i'm starting to stress about baby and such, so no surprise one decides to pop up NOW~! just before post recovery birth pics too.

soooo, who's got baby-related appointments this weeK??? sweeps? inductions? booked C-sections?

i, myself, have pre-op on wednesday & c-section on thursday morning...provided i dont go on my own before hand.

Feeling a little fed up and low, its now 6:08am I've been up since 2:15am with contractions approx 10 mins apart consistently, the last contraction was 20 mins prior and I haven't had another for 10 mins.
As far as I can tell my waters haven't broken.
I've left DH in bed as I figured he would need rest to look after boys first thing if anything kicked off.
Watched a movie The Hitman absoulutely brilliant was rivited and even managed to stay focused with the dialogue.
Was feeling very lonely after movie so at 5am rang my brother in USA who fortunately was still up so chatted with him and SIL whilst contracting.
I gotta have this baby today, I couldn't have stayed up all night for nothing, surely, please not.
Babes has been totally active all night which I'm pleased about.
As DS2 was only 3.5hrs I thought DC3 was gonna be well fast but I guess with DS2 my waters had broken a good 30 mins prior to 1st contraction so I guess that made a big difference.
Hurrah 6:12am just had another contraction which lasted nearly 2 mins, I cannot believe I'm welcoming pain with open arms!
I can hear DS2 tossing and turning over monitor, gosh a new day is gonna begin shortly and I've had zero sleep.

mamamufin · 29/09/2008 08:19

mama thanks for posting photos of baby euan! he's lovely! ((the first pic looks like such a sneaky grin!...whats he up to already?!?))

tread i hope labour has sped up for you since you last posted, hun! if not, keep it up!!! it will be over soon!

woke in the night so fed up, that i decided to wake DH for a bit of the deed. i knew it was hopeless, as baby is still too high up. but i had high hopes for a moment. ((literally a "moment" as its been a short while)).

i think i'm becoming increasingly concerned with the pelvic bones that are making it difficult for me to do basic things like get outta bed, walk, get out of the chair, etc.

today is the worst by far.

otherwise, i'm just grand! gonna do a bit of tidying today...

to anyone else still around, hope the day is full of labour pains for ya. and i mean that in the nicest way

Well, here it is...my due date. La la la la la la la la nothing happening. I really do feel far too comfortable and mobile to think that its only days befoer the baby comes- I feel about 30weeks pg! Got 40wk appointment tomorrow do you think she will do an internal to see if it looks hopeful?

tread I hope the silence from you means things have picked up (either that or you're getting a good sleep!)

Have a lovely day, I second munkis wishes for lots of pain for us all today! ha ha

WombFor1More · 29/09/2008 09:21

Happy due date plusonemore

And to me lol!

No signs here either, have MW apointment at 2pm. Don't want here poking about though as I can't have him yet!!! Ds1 woke up at 5am being sick so bubba has got to stay put for another week as I know we are all going to get ill now

I just want to scream "why meeeeeeee?!"

plusonemore · 29/09/2008 09:26

happy due date wombforonemore. Gosh I hope its not norovirus- its going round again apparently. My ds has also been poor;y this wkend, but nothing i can put my finger on, high temp, ear rubbing, constipated. Think it might be his big teeth? Although thought you had those by 2 and half?

MissusH · 29/09/2008 09:43

Morning all - happy due date wombforonemore & plusonemore

And big fat contraction vibes to treadmillmum!!!!

Nothing really happening here - am going to clean the bathroom and scrub the downstairs floors (exciting eh??)

Only 2 more sleeps until induction....

TreadmillMom · 29/09/2008 09:54

Can you believe still every 5 - 10 mins, haven't spoken to a single community midwife yet, just getting voicemails.
I feel really frustrated, I just know that after all these hours I bet I've hardly dilated as my contractions haven't intensified in any degree at all.
As I'm having a homebirth there is a midwives kit upstairs so I may ask 'her' to break my waters if it is feasible.
I'm sleepy too but don't want to go sleep as everything will slow down, I keep moving and the contractions keep coming.
Catch you gals later.
Oh and a massive congratulations to all you new mommies, I cannot get enough of your birth stories.

jennylindinha · 29/09/2008 09:56

Morning everyone! Good luck to Treadmill, hope things are happening for you!

Nothing doing here, just loads of BH and me being grumpy (with DP mostly rather than baby-related!) so I'm going to scour the bathroom. May even do the windows as they are looking a bit grim in the sun...

Happy due date Womb and Plus - hope that virus doesn't tear through the family Womb, sounds 'orrible and the last thing you need right now.

Hang in there Munki, it won't be long now!

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 10:36

thank ya jenny.

yes, very soon indeedy.

missus your induction is wednesday, right?
so really, we could very well have the same delivery date...((actually, i think you may have already mentioned this ))what time is your appt?

Pitufina · 29/09/2008 10:52

Good morning!!
Happy due date girls. Fingers crossed to everybody.
TreadmillMom - I hope things go well for you and you have your little one today.
Not much happening here. Had a curry last night to see if anything happened. Nothing!
Got hospital appointment tomorrow. And a sweep on wednesday.

sagecat · 29/09/2008 11:05

Morning all, hope its all going well for Treadmillmom. Nothing happening here today - this is the only day that i definetly do not want to have the babe (DD's birthday) - tomorrow would be fine - it will finally be my due date (the end of september has come around fast now its here).

I've got my term appointment on wed, they will probably have a feel to see if cervix is doing anything or at least favourable, MW has warned me that since i'm expecting a large baby that they may try and get me to be induced early I was induced last time and DO NOT want that again unless i'm 2 weeks over and its that or C-section! Anyway still plenty time to go naturally

hope some more babeis appear today!

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 11:21

in the post today, i received a package for the new baby and a bday gift for ds...as well as a premature congrats to the mom to be card...its very "my older brother". the outside says:
"Once i had to wait 9 months for a pair of custom Italian calfskin boots..."
((inside: "so i totally know how you feel!" ))
heheheh gave me a little giggle.

sage you definitely do have plenty of time to wait it out and go naturally...how big of a baby have they suggested you will have??

pitufina, with a sweep on the wednesday, missusH with induction on wednesday, and my c-section on the thursday...
hmmm we could possibly get 3 of us outta the way on the 2nd!

those of you talking about scrubbing the bathroom have put me in the mood to get mind sorted as well. guess i better get these things done in the next few days...

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 11:23

im so out of it, i think i'm having half these post/conversations in my head...

i meant to say, the package was from my brother in San Francisco.

and about cleaning the bathroom: "..get minE sorted as well." NOT get minD sorted...
hehehe ((although my mind could probably use a good sorting as well

plusonemore · 29/09/2008 11:43

he hee munki dont worry we knew what you meant. Dont clean the bathroom, i'll feel like i should be doing mine if you do. Mind you , this sunshine is showing me how gross the windows are, i may tackle them...

Like the card, why is it i've been so patient for 9 months but it is these last few days that are the killer?

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 12:56

heheh well, as per your suggestion, i've only finished just basic once over stuff i do everyday. no nesting today. DEFINITELY not been on hands & knees to scrub floors.

saving the laundry folding for corrie/dinner time this evening ((i'm a saddo at times, i know)).

and just yesterday, i was shopping with a mate, and was talking to her about how i've really enjoyed pregnancy and not been in any rush for him to arrive. except now, that i'm ((wait, i've lost track of how many days over i am..brb, 1 sec...)) nine days over, it's really starting to drag me down. so in the meanwhile, i'm doing my best to remain positive!!!! trying to NOT worry about getting sooo many little things sorted before thursday, and more importantly, attempting to remain calm about the c/s procedure and what it entails.

((my mind has been replaying the last elective c/s like a loop in my head))
ok ok, so it was my first one and i was not just terrified of the procedure, but also that i was going to be a parent!!! ((scary at the time, but wow i'd never change it for one moment...

anyways, enough waffling on for me. going to have a bit of lunch and a nap while ds is sleeping.

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 13:02

sorry, but forgot to post something else...

last night, DH came to bed in the 2am hour which is not unusual for him...
he was very snuggly with me and started talking to me about how he was feeling.
said he wasn't feeling particularly sad or emotional, but he just couldn't stop crying.

then he spent the next half hour with his hands all over the bebe belly and talking about how it felt to him and what body parts he thought he could feel. i didn't question his actions or feelings at all, of course. and even though i was asleep when he started talking to me, i didn't moan to him about waking me...i just took it as an opportunity to listen to him getting the best of the experience that he can get before the bump goes away this week.

it was very sweet and kind to see/hear him show these emotions.

plusonemore · 29/09/2008 13:15

ooh now i feel really bad- what stuff do you do every day??!!

your dh sounds like a sweety. one of the things i'm most looking forward to when the baby comes is seeing dh and ds with it and feeling like a complete family. its such an amazing thing isnt it?

sagecat · 29/09/2008 13:57

munkimum your DH sounds lovely, I think we all forget sometimes that its a huge change for our partners too even when we have children already I know i'm so focused on my bump and getting it out, and how DD will react to new babe that i keep forgetting that its going to be so different for DH too.

Size wise - DD was 8lb13oz, this time although they wouldn't tell me weight estimate (as very unreliable) measurments indicated on the brink of being in the 95th percentile though

Pidge · 29/09/2008 13:57

Happy due date plusonemore and wombfor1more. I know what you mean about feeling too comfortable and mobile for the baby to be imminent - I feel exactly the same. But then I remember with dd2 I had walked about 3 miles, swum 50 lengths and my waters broke that evening! So you never know.

Treadmillmom - huge sympathy - I had 48 hours of contractions like that with dd1, and apparently it's not uncommon to have lots and lots of prelabour with subsequent babies. I would say have a sleep - you need some rest, and it was when I finally fell asleep with dd1 that things really kicked off - and I mean contractions every 2 minutes. So you never know, and if it doesn't work you'll have got some well needed rest.

No sign of our builders again today , but am maintaining my calm by just ignoring the situation. I just know that the granite man will turn up as I'm going into labour!!!

I'm on one of my two days with dd2, so entertained two of her friends and their parents this morning, which was lovely. Had a bit of a cuddle with a 5 month old, as a reminder of what is to come. I still can't quite get my head round the fact that I'm about to have a baby, even though I've done this twice! And I can barely get in the school playground these days for people stopping me and saying "Are you still pregnant" ... duh, what does it look like!!

Debs75 · 29/09/2008 14:09

Come on all you mums to be, sending big labour vibes to you all and hope you all get there in the next 30 hours or so.

Enjoying my time with adorable 10 day old Robyn. Yes we have finally struck on a name, been thinking it over all week and decided to go with it. Had a tetchy couple of nights where I was asleep by 9, then awake till about 4 so not had chance to keep up with posts. Robyn asleep now and all alone so thought I would catch up.

Good luck to those still waiting and can't wait to read all the birth stories.

MunkiMom · 29/09/2008 14:27

ahh, you know just the little "keeping house" things: kitchen, hoovering everywhere (ds is only 2 and makes a right crumbly mess on the carpet), dishes, never-ending laundry ((how this happens, i just dont know), tidying ds's toys in living room 3 times a day, plus his own room (but usually i leave his room til the weekend)...you know, just everyday household stuff, etc.
