Thought I'd better start the thread since a) I've never done it before b) I'm not actually in labour right now c) it'll take all the 9 remaining posts on the previous thread to get the link to this one done correctly!

Great news feelingpositive!
Well the first part of my day is working out as yours did...been having contractions every 10mins ish since 6am. Can talk through them, but need to stand up and lean on something and rock. Sometimes there's nothing for half an hour, then a biggy. I just wish I knew how long this was going to go on for!
Lovely friend here doing baking with my dd and making sure I have a good lunch!
Not quite at the tens machine stage yet, but I've got contractionmaster all revved up on the computer!
I'm aware this could go on for days though...

MunkiMom · 25/09/2008 12:32

ooooOOOooo carrie i agree w/ jearund! sounds like a start. will have fingers crossed for ya.

also, anyone heard from pidge lately?

jennylindinha · 25/09/2008 12:34

Hello new thread and hello ladies - only a few of us left now and it's getting lonely!

Congrats feelingpos, sounds like a good birth and I love the name Tilly, so cute.

Good luck becarro, carrieon and Leonie (fingers crossed that you go into natural labour before you have to go in for the cs...)

I'm feeling a bit weird today - very teary and a bit stressed out. Have had to eat lots of biscuits to compensate but it hasn't helped really! Plus my mum just rang and managed to get a few comments in like "well I don't hear from you that often" etc etc. I call her every week!!! Boo.

feelingpositive · 25/09/2008 12:37

Ohh Carrieon, it sounds very similar to me. Mine revved up at about 4pm, but I was still in denial that it was really happening until I was being settled into the labour room!

Good luck!

carrieon · 25/09/2008 12:47

I really really hope this picks up and turns into the real thing, I couldn't bear for it to stop!
Also just realised that I can't work the tens machine I borrowed do have borrowed another, bless my friend's husband for dashing off to get it!!!

Very helpful, thank you! Just used that on the last contraction, although counting to 24 seems a bit ambitious at the moment! I've found standing and swaying while breathing works best. Contractions only about 30-40s long and 5-8mins apart.
I've got dd's afternoon and overnight care sorted [phew]. Just hope she doesn't wake up screaming at 5am like she did this morning...

Dh on way home from work. I'm loving contractionmaster.com! Still anything from 3-9mins apart but properly painful. Been very sick, partly due to crying a lot at dd being taken away for the night. Think this may be my last post...!

Blimey - 11lb 8 .... amazing! Many congratulations.

feelingpositive - brilliant news.

Munkimum - I'm still here!! Just too busy enjoying my life of leisure to get on mumsnet today!! There aren't that many of us left are there!? JennyL - mums should know better shouldn't they!

Our kitchen was supposed to be making progress the last two days with worksurfaces and the hole in the wall being fixed. But no sign of the builders. Am just trying to ignore it as there's no point getting stressed. Dp is chasing them, but no response on their mobiles.

Anyway, other than that I continue to have a lovely time in this unreal pre-baby world. Coffee with another friend this morning, then got my hair cut and then managed another swim. And this afternoon I have rustled up some wicked chocolate cookie dough, which I'm going to bake once I collect dd1 from school.

Good luck everyone awaiting, not to mention those of you 'on the other side'!
