Pinkali- v. cute baby!! I'm glad I'm pg other wise I'd get v. broody!!

ceebee74 · 22/09/2008 14:07

Afternoon all - busy busy busy again on here I see

Chocolategal - am v of you being on matty leave already - I have still got 5 weeks to go which just seems like forever!!

Sorry to those of you with SPD - I can't imagine how painful this would be but huge sympathies. So far the only aches I get are my hips in bed - the hip I am lying on aches so I turn over and wake about 2 hours later with the other hip aching and so on all night but it is very tame!

Saurus - lol at your DH (at the Xmas thing - not at the smoking in the attic thing - that would make me furious tbh). Those babgris sound just gorgeous

Why is it when you want the NHS to be incompetent, they are not and vice versa??? I have found out the reason why they sent me a consultant's appointment - it is because I have missed the 2 GTT appointments they have made - I was kinda hoping they just wouldn't notice or something. Anyway, I have been railroaded into going tomorrow morning but PMA - I get the morning off work

Have finally sorted out and washed all the baby clothes from the loft - I have never seen such a mountain of 0-3 month clothes !! I am quite that DS had so many clothes tbh - it is quite obscene and I can see they are only going to get worn about once this time round.

chocolategal · 22/09/2008 14:11

okay im back on this sooner than planned....no tidying done!!

pinkali and ruthosaurus both blood pressures ok.
pinkali yours is on the low side of normal, hence the breathlessness and fast pulse maybe. advice we give our patients is to keep fluids up and not to get up quickly!! although for lots of people this is there normal bp and have no ill effects of it!
okay nurse nancy hat off now!!

ladybuzz i think i could have pushed myself to work another 2weeks if i really had too
my only worry is that these last 8weeks are going to drag as i dont have anything to do

Pinkyminkee · 22/09/2008 14:22

chocolategal just enjoy yourself, take it easy, and absorb the peace before the chaos begins!! I started unfeasibly large jigsaw puzzle when on mat leave with DS. Never finished it.

chocolategal · 22/09/2008 14:25

plan on catching up on lost with the series 4 boxset

Hi all

I only have this week and next left at work and it can't come a moment too soon! Seriously, I love my work but the travelling is getting to me now, especially when nobody gave me a seat on the Jubilee line last week!

SPD is painful and I have a rather sexy belt to wear which looks bad but really helps, I also have a crutch to walk with so that I don't strain my back further - had spinal surgery 6 yrs ago and have lots of metal in there. I sympathise totally with anyone else suffering with it.

Lots to catch up on as i have been offline for a while so to everyone here as lots of people are starting to suffer with aches, pains and sleeplessness. I have to wake up to turn over in the night too and bump is currently breech and headbutting me in the right ribcage as we speak. He did that last night when I was driving and I almost couldn't breathe!

My cs is booked for 6 weeks today how scary but exciting is that??!!!

Will write more soon
xx

Twelvelegs · 22/09/2008 14:31

Autumn, my cs is booked for 6 weeks today too. With your metal and my very thick scar (4t cs) we will be first in line!!!
Bump face down but I'm only 5'1" and so still cannot breath!!

ruthosaurus · 22/09/2008 14:32

I wouldn't mind the smoking in the attic thing as I am far too tired to bother going up there and it stops him bitching - he's giving up after this week anyway - if it wasn't for the fact that all the baby stuff is up there! Gah! Good job I love doing laundry (No, really - it is so therapeutic. In = dirty clothes and soap, out = clean weet-smelling wearables. What's not to love?).

Pinky, am mailing you my address - thanks so much! I will deffo be getting a blanket from you, missus.

AutumnLady · 22/09/2008 14:38

Twelvelegs - you know what to expect then!! I have to meet the anaesthetist (sp?) beforehand to discuss the location of the metal pins so she can figure out how effective the spinal will be. I'm 5'7" so am thinking he has a long body as I feel him almost everywhere.......! Are you a London person?

suiledonn · 22/09/2008 14:38

Hi everyone, sounds like the nesting is going well for everyone. My dh was off work this morning so I asked him to take some stuff out of a cupboard I want to use. This prompted him to go on a major clearout with the result that the house is now in a worse state than before he started. I haven't been feeling well the last few days so nothing more will be done til he gets back to it. I have terrible heartburn and I think all the Gaviscon Advance I am taking is upsetting my stomach - either that or my morning sickness is back as I've heard can happen towards the end.

Twelvelegs I agree that being short does seem to have problems - I'm 5'2 and baby simultaneously is high enough to give me heartburn and breathlessness but low enough to prod me in the bladder all day. Not much room in us shorter ladies I suppose, especially if it is a big baby.

Chocolategal definitely take the chance to lie in as often as possible. It is one of those luxuries that disappears with the arrival of dc.

Pinkali37 · 22/09/2008 14:39

Thank you all.

I just can't wait to hear when we lot start to produce our little ones and to see the pictures will be amazing. So... whose going to be the first??? Merry??

ruthosaurus · 22/09/2008 14:39

Oh bugger it, Pinky [stamps tiny foot in e-frustration], I have gone and lost your email to send address to - can you send again or unblock "receive messages from other mumsnetters"? Eee, technology, eh? I can't wait to see the new blankets as well!

Cheers me dear.

Hello ladies!
We were so horrendously busy over the summer holidays this is literaly the first time i have had time to sit down and write something!
We only got back from Lazarote a week ago, which was absolutly fantastic, but the flight at 6.5 months pregnant was definatly not.
Dd has started school all day today, so i am officaly on "Maternity leave" till ds is born
I haven't read through the thread i'm afraid, but will keep up from now on.
sueledonn is bang on, i'm 5'4 and ds is giving me heartburn and bladder ache as well particularly indegestion, i practicaly have to sleep sitting up now.
I am 7 months pregnant on wednesday, getting really excited now!
Oooh i hope i don't go into December "hanaflower" but if i do, i'll stick with the nov thread for sure..if i'm allowed ;)

Pinkyminkee · 22/09/2008 15:12

Hi all
RUtho what are you like?? pinkyminky at mac dot com . I'm too tight for the CAT thingy!

Oblomov · 22/09/2008 15:30

Oh, I am struyggling to keep up. I want to respond to so many posts, but have forgotten everythig now. Ladies, I am reading everything you post. Honest to god.

MonkeyMargot · 22/09/2008 15:37

Me too! I've been following everything avidly, just got nothing of any interest to add at the moment!

ruthosaurus · 22/09/2008 15:47

Oh, do you have to pay for that? B*llocks (scuse lang. Email on its way, hon.

Obs, I was finding it so hard to keep up that at one point I was taking actual notes this morning, like a total swot. My boss was v impressed as she though I was working.

Ladies, I also had the weird thought that at some point v soon we are going to be posting saying "guess what - I had my baby/babies". I wonder who will actually be first? Remember, it's not a race...

MM Nice one on the dinner party!

Autumn Lady how can you possibly be getting on the tube with SPD, must be awful! I could barely make it from the car park to my desk this morning. Not good.

ChocOrange05 · 22/09/2008 15:55

Saurus just been laughing at your "birthday week" post - I think he's having you on!! It was my DH's birthday on Saturday and for one day only he got to do what he wanted all day - needless to say by Sunday morning all that malarky was finished with and I was the boss again. Don't think our marriage would have lasted the week!

Ohh - speaking of babies arriving, if we were in our local pub I would definitely be coming round with a sweepstake for that - a la world cup stylie!

Pinkali your neice is very cute! And your bump looks very neat.

BTW - why do people feel the need to comment on your bump all the time?? Luckily I am not easily offended when it comes to this (often refer to myself as rotund ) but this last week I have had a few comments and I just think, why do you think I want to hear this! And randomly they aren't even the same comments - one person said "Oh are there two in there" and another said I wasn't too big for 34 weeks. People are odd!

Choc very jealous of your maternity leave. I have 4 weeks left in the office (as long as bump doesn't arrive sooner) and whilst I really like my job the current status of the financial markets mean its a difficult time and I wouldn't mind leaving right now!

MonkeyMargot · 22/09/2008 15:56

Thomasina Just sneaked a look at your profile and noticed you are a fellow London girl. Are you coming to the LadiesWhoDoTea thing on Oct 3rd?

AutumnLady · 22/09/2008 15:59

Thomasina - it is incredibly painful and makes me want to cry but I have to get to work somehow...... am just building up to leaving work as I type.

x

ruthosaurus · 22/09/2008 16:00

Pinky, I've just found your website and I have to say I am just head over heels about the juicy garden blanket - are you still doing those ones?

(Saurus, stop hogging the thread and go home...)

Pinkyminkee · 22/09/2008 16:06

rutho got your email, thanks. I'll send you some snaps of what I have this evening, if that's ok. Not got proper pictures done yet, but they should give you an idea.
Have to go make lasagne for DC's tea.

suiledonn · 22/09/2008 16:22

Has anyone had any strange dreams lately? I had a dream the other night that Michel Roux from Masterchef the Professionals was delivering my baby. Weird?
