Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
misdee · 26/09/2008 20:39

ooo lots happening.

sauras, try not to fret, my sisters little one arrived at 33/34 weeks last year and was fine. but she didnt get a show at all, just went striaght into labour. i only had a show with dd2, not the other two.

we finally have a moving date! next weekend, the 4th!

so my secret stork may be a wee bit late, will try and sort it for beginning of the week, but might be after i move, i am sorry in advance if it is.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/09/2008 21:15

email is daisybump @ yahoo . co . uk (but without the spaces, obviously)

DS has been a real nightmare to get into bed tonight; he has just been down for about the fourth time, full of cuddles and worries and apologies for what he has done and said (his behaviour has been challenging recently; maybe all connected?)

DH and I are going to have a think about what to do over the weekend. I do really feel for the little boy; he is one of these kids that's always in trouble and doesn't have the best home life from what I've seen . And I hope he is getting some sort of help for whatever is causing him to behave like this, although from what I gathered from my friend last year his mum refused to believe her boy was the instigator of it all.

sorry for banging on about it.

misdee · 26/09/2008 21:20

oh lacks, just seen your post about your ds poor love must be very confused.

MerryMarigold · 27/09/2008 03:04

Lacks, hope things get sorted with ds and the other boy and there is some kind of resolution where this stuff can't go on anymore. Where do kids learn this kind of stuff? I'm sure you and dh will handle it well, you seem very sorted that way...and your ds is still so little so hopefully he doesn't understand it enough to have any long term impact. Puts the fear into me when I think of my little soon-to-be 3 year old and how innocent he is.

Saurus, oh my goodness me! We will all be keeping our eyes out for you on here and our fingers/ toes crossed for you and the baby. Better get our secret storks out quickly then, eh?

Scrabblers, I've never really liked scrabble but enjoy the chilled out pace of these games. Please invite me any of you who I'm not playing...

I used my tumble drier last night, first time, just to finish up some clothese which were nearly dry. Veeeery exciting!

Have good weekends one and all!

Dozymare · 27/09/2008 06:53

morning all!

LACKS what a horrible situation to be in - obviously we don't know the ins and outs of the situation but you absolutely must speak to the head on what you know, who knows what could be happening to the instigator to make him behave so inappropriately? I hope you are all ok.......

Sarus any news????? Hope you are ok and panic is over....

Will be posting my book club book today, sorry it is so late

have a lovely weekend!

mum2becks · 27/09/2008 08:05

Morning everyone! Very busy on here again yesterday!

Lacks hope you get things sorted with DS, think you definately need to speak to the head and let her know what has happened! Will e-mail you for text buddies

saurus hope you are doing ok this morning, and hope your little one stays put for a while longer!!! Its scary to think we are all getting so close now!

I had a terrible night last night, woke up to hear DH being sick in the bathroom, then DD shouting me and when I went in to her she was sick all over the floor after cleaing up we then had a swap of beds so dd could sleep with me and then she was sick again all over our bed So I spent most of my night cleaning up, changing bedding and pyjamas!!! DD has woke up her normal bright self this morning so dont know what it was, although DH still doesnt feel too great, hope its nothing I can catch off them

Hope everyone has a good weekend planned!!

LadyBuzz · 27/09/2008 08:10

Lacks hope you get everything sorted soon and DS is OK.
Rutho hope you are doing OK this morning.
Mum2becks hope your family are OK now and you don't catch it!
I did my last load of baby washing yesterday and am off for the very final bits for the hospital bag today. I'm actually quite organised I have bought all of the birthday cards I will need right up unitl the end of November just in case and only need a couple of gifts which I need DHs help for anyway. That is not like me.
Merry Happy new drier glad you like it.

mum2becks · 27/09/2008 08:37

ladybuzz you sound very organised!! I have started sorting my baby stuff but havent got round to washing it yet and have some stuff for my hospital bag but its just piled on the floor not packed in the bag

I have started doing some christmas shopping though and like you have already planned for anyones birthdays in nov and dec so I do feel organised with that at least

Sorry just realised missed a couple of things in last post -

misdee great news about the house move, that should give you some time to get unpacked and settled before baby is due

merry glad you like your tumble dryer, I love mine and it will be so useful once your twins arrive!!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 09:36

hope it all calms down in your house today mum2becks. If DH is feeling a bit better, you should get yourself back to bed for a bit.

fantastic news on the date for the move misdee; I hope you get nicely settled in beofre the baby arrives and it will be great to be in and sorted for Christmas.

rutho....how are you today?

ladybuzz...sounds like nesting to me

DS is a much better frame of mind this morning. We re trying to go as easy as possible on him although there has been a mighty to-do about getting his hair cut this morning and he has been draged off howling (he favours the surfer dude look, but it's just too scruffy at the minute)

I'm pretty sure I have all I need for my hospital bag; I just need to find the damn bag and assemble all the bits and pieces.

I got loaned a bag of baby bits from my friend yesterday. I am sooooo sorted for vests and babygros up to 3 months now

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 09:39

Oh, meant to ask how your cat is Pinkyminkee?

We had ours at the vet last night as she has bad teeth, but given her age the vet doesn't want to anaesthetise her until she knows what's going on with her kidneys and liver. So, it cost us £80 for blood tests and that's before they even start on the teeth . She had a few out about 7 years ago and it cost me about £150 then.

And, on a funny note, a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of this link....pity we are too late for secret stork presents

LadyBuzz · 27/09/2008 09:51

Lacks is that what i'm doing - shame it isn't extending to cleaning the house
Love that link esp the baby mop and po nee!
DS has a dummy with vampire teeth (and also a christian dior dummy - NOT bought by me I may add)he looks cute!
Glad DS is a bit better this morning

ChocOrange05 · 27/09/2008 12:08

Morning all.

Lacks hope your DS situation gets resolved and things get better for him/you. Will e-mail you my no's etc for text buddies.

Merry glad your tumble dryer is working out, I want to get one soon so let me know if you have a good recommendation!

I had a dream last night that I was on this MN thread and Saurus had written that she'd had a baby girl!! She even wrote the name but I really can't remember it. Have we heard from her last night / today??

OK - sorry if this is TMI but.... I was just in the shower and noticed that my nipples looked like they had holes in them so I gave them a squeeze and a tiny bit of milk came out, it seemed very thick, not watery - is this normal?!?! I am a first timer and wondering if it happens this early??

Have a good day all - I am going to spend some time with my family and best friend while DH is away and spend the rest of it worrying about leaky boobs!!

sparkletoes · 27/09/2008 16:17

Hi all

Firstly yes ChocOrange completely normal don't worry!

Lacksa jeez that is not good, poor DS, don't know quite what to say other than hope you get it sorted out soon.

I got my secret stork today!!! THANK YOU so much whoever you are! It is lovely and will definately come in handy as I have done nothing much re: baby gear! DS loved his chocs and will have mine as soon as I get chance to put feet up!

Also talking of baby gear, Ceebs the Next Xmas catalogue has a gorgeous red snow suit. Know we have both got our leaving hospital ones for baby but this is lovely and am tempted to get in bigger size...

Have done some official nesting today, got curtains for baby's room (chickened out of making them myself as big window!) and got toy for DS from baby. Not much but that took all afternoon! Luckily DS being looked after by his Papa or it would have been the shopping trip from hell.

*RuthO" any news??

Also bumped into (no pun intended) a girl I used to work with when I was a student! She is also due in Nov! (Actually maybe she is on here lol!!)

Sorry long post, hope everyone has a good Sat night planned...

sparkletoes · 27/09/2008 16:19

Aargh should have been RuthO any news?

MonkeyMargot · 27/09/2008 17:11

Lacks LOL at the link to baby products...like the tattoos - classy!
Just finished my 2-day NCT course. Was actually must better than expected, and we did some post-natal stuff aswell as the expected labour/birth. Met some good people too.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine! We are going to go out for something to eat tonight, and tomorrow we're packing up our beds from spare room into a van and driving them upto the Midlands to store in my brother's garage. Then, we can get cracking on turning the room into a nursery of sorts!
Any news on Saurus?

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 17:53

Evening all...bust day here. Took DS swimming then we all had lunch together and took ourselves off the the park to have a walk and to feed the ducks. It was lovely; we really don't do enough as a family at the weekend; it's either me and DD out and about or DH and DS.

DH is wondering what's up as I got him a bottle of whisky and a card yesterday; just to say thanks for being a great husband and putting up withe me and to apologise for not appreciating him enough.

Anyway, we didn't get back until after four and now the boys have gone out fishing for a couple of hours. They have discovered a fishing pond half an hours walk from the house so have gone to check it out.

Also managed to drag DH to the optician's this afternoon as it's been about four years since he had his eyes tested, and then I made my wifely opinion known regarding his choice of frames!

Choco, perfectly normal....mine have been like this for a wee while, and what you are getting out is colostrum. Beware though, it can stain white bras a nasty orangey colour that will not ever wash out!

I have been thinking about Rutho all day. I hope she is OK.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 17:53

oops, busy I mean!

Pinkyminkee · 27/09/2008 17:54

Hi all checking in to see if any news from rutho.

lacks that doesn't sound very good.I hope you get some support from the school.

misdee fabby news about your moving date, how exciting.

Mum2becks oh dear family tummy bugs are not pleasant.

Went to TKMAX today and got my bouncy ball. The children are determined to commit hari kari on it so not sure it's such a good idea. Very comfy for me, though!

obs thanks for the suggestion about the little tolietries in tesco. I got a lovely little bag of nivea things and some shampoo- even a diddy hairbrush.

Hope people are having god weekends.

ceebee74 · 27/09/2008 18:56

Evening all

Just checking in from my weekend break to see if there was any news from Saurus but I see there isn't!

Daisy - sounds like you have had a lovely day which is probably what you all need today

We spent the day at Chester Zoo and it was gorgeous - the sun was out all day! Although I am knackered after walking round for 5 hours and haven't had a chance for a nap.

Going to the restaurant for dinner now and then early bed (as we are sharing a room with DS) - he will be in a proper bed for the first time tonight - wish us luck

x

ruthosaurus · 27/09/2008 19:41

Hey all,

thanks for all lovely wishes - i was thinking of you too and wished i had internet access in hosp.

Just checking in and will catch up with all your news properly tomorrow. Anway, am still pg, me and baby saurus fine (cervix gone all weird hence bleeding, but still intact, lack of baby movement v probably due to maternal tiredness), got back from hosp after 24 hour stay about an hour ago and just had first wash since yesterday morning - yeuch. Some Drs should NOT have been given the right to use a speculum . V tired and Braxton Hicksy but have best mum and DH ever. And at least I know what the maternity hosp is like now

If anyone else is considering Jessops in Sheff I can heartily recommend, most staff are lovely and beds v comfy, plus free tea and biscuits - result.

Also, nice doc (sans speculum) says not to go to work next week and to put feet up.

Got to go as baby is kicking me quite hard in the Braxtons, iyswim, need paracetamol.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 19:46

Hey Rutho....sounds like a bit of an ordeal. Lord you had us all worried there when you went quiet. I'm glad babysaurus is staying put for the moment anyway. Cervix behaving vibes coming your way.

Enjoy your rest next week, and absolutely on no account are you to think you feel alright so make it into work. Bed (or sofa) rest for you young lady . Let me know if you need anything; you aren't a million miles away from me after all

ruthosaurus · 27/09/2008 19:46

PS have just done v quick read lacks - big hugs x

OP posts:
Pinkyminkee · 27/09/2008 19:53

rutho Soo glad you are home and all is well. Sounds like a bit of an ordeal, and staying in hospital is never fun.
Hope your cervix starts behaving itelf.
Glad baby had the sense to stay put.

Make sure you get lots of rest, pleeease!! And that's proper not doing any jobs in the house rest, or phoencalls from work

As an aside, I'm glad you like your hospital. I discovered this when I was ill with DD- it made me feel really glad I had booked to go there to have her, it takes a bit of the apprehension away about the birth, I think.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/09/2008 19:56

'tis my advanced years that lets me be matronly with gravitas pinky

DS much better today; a family day was just what he needed I think. We definately need to do it more often.

pinky...how's your cat?

Pinkyminkee · 27/09/2008 20:03

Very knid, but I'm sure you are not really any older than me!

Cat is 'under't vet' as they say. Has had a variety of injections, steriods etc. and seems to be improving, the weeing has abated somewhat but she does seem to be favouring the nursing chair in the palyroom which is a bit of an issue.

I'm glad your poor DS is feeling better. I do have a bit of experience of this (not personally, but a friend's DS) and it's very upsetting and stressful. I hope things continue to improve.
