Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Vbab- you have every chance of bfeding successfully! Look at the disaster I had with DS..it was loads better with DD.

Lacks is right tho, you'll need something that will go a few sizes- I made the mistake of taking an old nursing bra into hospital and it was waay to small. I had to go out on day 4 and get fitted- it was no fun I was very leaky! But I'd just get one basic one in a roomy fit, as I say, then you can get some nice ones for the long term.

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 21:13

DM what are you watching now??

Dozymare · 23/09/2008 21:16

secret millionaire.......more in the background though...what are oyu???

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 21:18

some vest type tops with feeding clips are useful too; like this but you can get them much cheaper on the high street!

comfy for the hospital and those early days at home, but with a modicum of support too.

MummyNic · 23/09/2008 21:19

Oh my God, just watching that woman give birth has made me feel quite ill. I thought I was quite well read in the childbirth stuff but seeing it is a whole new ball game. DH spent the whole programme telling me he doesn't liike blood and it'd be better if he's not there.... OH YES YOU WILL BE!!! . But he went to the loo for the 'messy' bit - thank God - I'd have NO chance of getting him in the delivery suite - not sure I want to be there either!!!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/09/2008 21:21

I was told 37 weeks for fitting for a nursing bra. I will probably just dig out my old ones this time and get fitted for some nice ones once my supply settles down

Dozymare, lol at the only thing you learned. I didn't even learn that, I already have 3 packed in my bag

Pinky, I don't envy your dh teaching sex ed. Like Daisy, I shall be defering to dh. Poor man will have to teach all 3 of them, rofl!!

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 21:32

I'm watching 'losing it' on bbc1.

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 21:38

Gutted I missed the childbirth scene. Was too busy playing Scrabble...
Lacks it's your turn!

MonkeyMargot · 23/09/2008 21:39

By the way, my DH wanted me to do a poll - whose belly button has popped out?
Mine hasn't...it's on the cusp but is defiant in staying inward.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 21:44

sorry...went to the loo!

MummyNic · 23/09/2008 21:45

Ooh, funny you wrote that - I was wondering the same thing earlier. Mine is still very much an innie - I have a scar in / below it from 2 laparoscopies which has stretched but it's quite 'normal' looking.

vbab78 · 23/09/2008 21:48

monkeymargot - You could watch the sex education show online when it gets added ...www.channel4.com/watch_online/ or not sure if repeated on a freeview channel.

Pinkyminkee · 23/09/2008 21:56

nope. MIne tends to go pretty flat but never actualy popped out yet. We shall see.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 22:00

mine is still an innie as well.....just.

Mine never popped with the other two so fingers crossed. DH would divorce me if it popped I fear

missygoo · 23/09/2008 22:03

Mine is a flatty now. Sometimes it looks a bit outy but mainly just flat.
Happened ages ago.

chocolategal · 23/09/2008 22:05

my goodness ladies, i have only been away to my aquanatal for an hour and already 2 new pages of chat!!

for my record my belly button is still an innie!

im watching sex and the city on paramount......oh i love love love mr big!

MummyNic · 23/09/2008 22:07

I had a similar threat from DH - why does it freak them out so much?!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/09/2008 23:02

thay are in awe and jealous of our womanly magic at growing a new life mummynic and going "eeeeeewwwwwww" is their way of showing that

I'm talking to myself now so I'm off to bed.

A quick bookclub reminder to all. I'll be posting tomorrow Dozy, a wee bit late , but I only started it at the weekend and finished last night. How far round the circle are we?

LadyBuzz · 24/09/2008 08:06

Mine is still very much an innie!
I also need to book a wax after having more discomfort from the stubble then I did from the CS scar last time!
DH told me I was most concerned that I have to remove my Treagus piercing last time (I can't remember) as I kept saying but I Won't be happy if I can't get it back in - Like that should have been my main priority!!
WARNING Monkey Margot is far too good at Scrabble - I have seen moves that I could not have even imagined from her

Oblomov · 24/09/2008 08:14

Trying to catch up.
Sorry for leaving you in lurch last night, it wasn't THAT exciting.
Sorry to hear of Vbabs slip in shower. Are you o.k. now ?
Nightmare getting to kings. 3hrs. Clinic understaffed. Waited 2 hrs to see Prof. No Mr Marsh ( head of Obs) gutted. was hoping to get cs date out of him. And i spent all of monday finishing my birth plan ans preparing to talk to him.
I was 32 wks yeaterday. MW measured me said I was 35 + !!!
Prof said she was so happy with my blood sugars, that norm I mneed to start going every week now, but she is allowing me to come in 2 wks, at 34 wks. HOORRRRRRAHHHHHHH. She has given me new sickness tablets to try, becasue I am still being very sick as soon as I get up.
Then I went ofr scan. Which I was late for. They made me wait 3 hrs. Baby is fine, not that big. Apparently I measure so big, becasue my amniotic fluid is 95 th centile ++. She said that if my waters break, they will whoosh loads. My waters didn't break last time. Haven't told dh this. Don't won't him worrying that I will ruin his precious mercedes, as we sit in my car waters, for our minimum 1.5 HOUR rush to Kings, when it happens.

And Prof said I AM ALLOWED TO DRIVE.
Hoorah.

All in all very pleased.

Daisy, put me down for text buddies please.

Someone invite me to scrabble please.

ChocOrange05 · 24/09/2008 09:35

Obs I have started a game of scrabble with you, but I can't play now, I have an appointment and I don't think the "I'm late because I was playing Scrabble" excuse will go down too well with the MW!

See you in a bit when I can read all posts and play scrabble!!

coolkat · 24/09/2008 09:48

Hi ladies

I have been following but forgotten everything that I have read!

Don't you all disappear and play scrabble!

Interesting talk on hospital bags, mine is big and I still need another bag of stuff to leave in the car like spare towels etc as consultant suggested water birth but said they would have to hoist me in Would love to video that to laugh at afterwards!! DH would be ROFL if this is the case.

I would like to be text buddy if this is going ahead?

I need to go to ASDA as DD birthday next week and need to look at cakes and party bag stuff but I just can not be bothered, its half hour drive and I am so tired today. Got iron tablets but don't want to take as constipation a big enough problem as it is despite eating loads of grapes etc

Obs glad you can drive, ensure lots of towels in DH car for the journey and a carrier bag on the seat! and don't mention what the MW said

Monkey my belly button also sort of flat and surrounded by stretch marks

chocolategal · 24/09/2008 09:49

chocolategal · 24/09/2008 09:51

coolkat · 24/09/2008 10:04

Hi Choc

SPD a lot more copable since I became lazy gave up work, I don't think it will get better but I am being more sensible and not really doing much IYSWIM! Pain still gets worse as the day goes on but using crutches has become easier!

Wow 10lb 13oz bet that made her eyes water!
