Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
stripeywoollenhat · 26/09/2008 18:28

mssparkle - i'm planning to work until christmas, i think i can go on leave in early december but think i'd rather have the time when the baby is here. 'course, i'm not sure i'll feel like that in early dec!

i think titch has moved, i can feel her kicking low down (ouch), but no sign of bum or head now

fymandbean · 26/09/2008 21:22

Its a BOY its a BOY its a BOY!!!!

I have to tell you lot as my DH doesn't know and I'm going nuts not saying

fymandbean · 26/09/2008 21:23

BTW - he was late for the scan so I found out.... he wanted it in an envelope but as he was late well....

MsSparkle · 26/09/2008 21:31

Congrats fymandbean on finding out your having a boy!

fymandbean · 26/09/2008 21:32

ps perineal massage

Persuaded my Dh to do it last time - sat with legs akimbo - he looked at me a tipped some oil in his hand then looked again and got more oil and looked again and more oil then started rubbing it up his arms and I just dissolved into laughter it was just so James Herriot!!

We never tried again....

PS 1st timers don't be too worried about peoples 'tearing' stories - I just had a few stitches and was perfectly fine down below with DS - and he was 9lb 2 and came out with his elbow next to his ear , and we didn't manage any perineal massage at all.

rrrayray · 26/09/2008 23:18

fymandbean My goodness... are you planning to go the whole hog and not tell him the sex??? I couldn't i'm going to be shouting it tomorrow!!

tink totally with you on wanting one of each gender, if within our brood (this is first, but OH wants 4!! we'll see about that!!) we have one of each, that would be amazing. One week & counting for you!!

Know little sleep is going to be had tonight through sheer excitement. but OH wont be home from match until 3.30am anyway- so that will wake me anyway.

Massaging lady bits with Oil- All sounds a bit kinky. Although lubrication applied by the OH in that area- Well can't be a bad thing.... all in the aid of an easier birth of course

Right, its FAR too late- Off to bed.

fymandbean · 27/09/2008 07:54

The chances of me keeping it quiet are about Zero - I'm going to have to 'pursuade' him he wants to know PDQ else I'll let it slip - I think my dad has already guessed from something I said... My mum is still clueless but is trying every trick in the book to get me to slip up.

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 27/09/2008 09:05

morning

chefswife - your job sounds very intersting

ye fym for having a boy how exciting

rray - good luck with scan

rrrayray · 27/09/2008 11:37

fymandbean- my goodness, i'm SURE you will slip up as you get used to the idea of it being a boy..... There will just be the odd HE slipping out!!!

3 Hours and Counting until Sexing Scan...........Eeeeeeeeeeeeek. I'm completely Clueless now. Was so convinced it was a boy, as is everyone around us, but now, just don't know!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeek!!

rrrayray · 27/09/2008 16:43

Bean is a GIRL!!!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 27/09/2008 16:51

ye for a girl rray

MsSparkle · 27/09/2008 17:59

rrrayray congrats on bean being a girl! Little girls are lovely

chefswife · 27/09/2008 18:26

it is so nice to know the gender. i know it doesn't really matter in the end but i love the finite planning and name deciding one can do when you find out the sex. i love calling her by her name. off to the baby show today to write my wish list.

fymandbean · 27/09/2008 19:15

great rrray! I think it's much better to know for name planning - saves deciding on two names

stripeywoollenhat · 27/09/2008 19:35

congrats on your girl, rrrayray!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 27/09/2008 19:37

i love to find out so that you can buy relevant clothes

rrrayray · 28/09/2008 11:05

Absolutely Shocked that Bean is a girl..... Quite clearly a girl got the "burger" shot and all! haha! We're VERY happy about it (would have been either way) but i think just the fact we've been talking bout "him" for 6 months is a shock that its actually a Her!

Name wise its a GOD send, as we Couldn't Agree on ANY boys names. Whilst we haven't chosen a girls name, we like lots & wont have trouble agreeing, phew!

Already planned a trip to Bluewater this week to buy first PINK things! Thought would get one yesterday but so sleepy after the excitement of the scan!!

Tink- less than a week for you now!

Spots on back seem to be drying up a bit, thanks to the antibotics, but since today is last day of them, bit worried they will return with avengance as soon as i'm off the antibotics. Boo!

Sleep is an absolute joke. I think OH and i are going to resort to sleeping in seperate beds and rooms soon, as i'm constantly waking, and tossing and turning with my massive maternity pillow. Sleep is VERY broken and i'm snappy snappy when i'm half asleep, desperately trying to sleep

has anyone else's Dreams gone bonkers? i keep having the weirdest, quite often scary/unpleasant dreams. Very vivid. Especially a few nights ago when 3 of my teeth fell out. i think i'd stupidly been reading about pregnancy gum problems & visiting the dentist before sleep- doh!

Chocsolot · 28/09/2008 13:02

morning all,

congrats on your little girl ray enjoy the pink shopping. We decided to leave it as a suprise at our scan last week we're just hoping friends and famly will supply us with pink or blue clothes when little baby arrives!

Had a midwife appointment yesterday and as she asked if i had felt it kick yet it booted her, i didn't realise those little spasm things were actually kicks, its been kicking all weekend since, as exciting as that is, esp for DH who has now felt it, i am beginning to wonder if ignorance may have been bliss because i notice it every time now

Anyway hope you are all well, thanks for starting the new thread Spinks, still procrastinating on the lady garden fix and also have smelly wee........ and swollen ankles sometimes as of last week!

moosemama · 28/09/2008 16:14

hi all,

Still too poorly to read whole thread but had a quick squiz at the last few posts and wanted to congratulate rrrayray on finding out she's expecting a girl.

Also, apparently if you dream about your teeth falling out you are about to come into some money!

My coldy/fluey thing turned into a sinus infection and not wanting to take antibiotics I've been steaming my head with eucalyptus four times a day, drinking lots of hot squash and trying to limit the amount of paracetamol I take. It is thankfully starting to improve now, but am feeling so exhausted I can barely get off the sofa or out of bed and am feeling sick and dizzy most of the time.

Unfortunately any rest I was getting has now been scuppered by our next-door-but-one neighbours bringing home some chickens and a cockerel on Thursday. For some reason the cockerel doesn't crow properly, he just screams about every three minutes all day! It sounds as if someone is being murdered out the back and the noise goes straight through me.

Anyway, I'm off to lie down again, looking at this screen has made me feel really sick. Hopefully I'll be functioning again by the end of the week.

missjackson · 28/09/2008 16:31

Hi all -- hope you had a lovely weekend and got some of this glorious weather.

The good news is that the rash is FADING! Definitely... the bad news is that it's more itchy than ever, probably due to the excessive amount of showering and bathing I've done over the past 2 weeks! Last night was up 4 times for a cold shower. I'm exhausted but I don't care, just the thought that the rash is on it's way out is enough to fill me with cheerfulness.

Congrats Rrray and Fymandbean on finding out the sex I am dying to know but am resisting. My OH videoed our scan, and we spent ages this weekend rewinding parts where we thought we might be able to figure it out until we realised what a pair of idiots we were, as we could simply ask if we really wanted to know!

Chefswife your show sounds exciting. I will keep my eyes peeled next week for the London papers and see if I spot you!

tinkcantwaittofindoutboyorgirl · 28/09/2008 16:40

ye for pink clothes shopping this week rray , you can get gorgeous pink girls outfits

oh dear for cockerel

miss j - ye for rash going
but oh dear for more itchy

fourlittlefeet · 28/09/2008 21:07

evening, just getting this back on my threads..off to catch up

LooseyC · 28/09/2008 22:05

Evening all - great to hear news about boys and girls! Fym have you told DH yet?

We've had a busy time this weekend as DH got knocked off his bike on Friday on the way to work. 12 x-rays and loads of doctors later we found out he has... a sprained thumb! the rest is just bruising thank goodness, but now I have 2 boys to tend to their every need!

Don't want to be annoying to those working, but I'm pretty glad I'm still on maternity leave! Last year I was doing 2 hours commuting each way to work until 38 weeks which was far too much. Even though it was an absolutely trouble-free preg I was so tired - if I was doing it again now I'd def stop at 36 weeks or before if I could!

fymandbean · 29/09/2008 08:33

yes - thank god my DH now knows - he caved in yesterday and we told my mum and dad as well...

istinkhavingaboyoragirl · 29/09/2008 10:12
