Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 16/10/2008 15:21

poor you mm

hormones r horrid i have been very moody and not right every now and again

rrrayray · 16/10/2008 19:50

Evening ladies...

Sorry to hear hormones all over the place. Sure OH understands. Hope your feeling perkier now.

Feeling like a hippo this evening after eating lots and LOTS today!

MsSparkle · 16/10/2008 19:52

LenniEd yes my midwife is suportive. I see the doctor again in 2 weeks and am waiting to hear about the referal.

rray your a braver person than i am getting your legs waxed

I did so much housework today. I cleaned the fridge, did the oven, cleaned out the kitchen cupboards and done all the windows! As well as that i decorated dd's birthday cake which is on Saturday. Am knackered now. I can't believe i am 29 weeks tomorrow.

moosemama · 16/10/2008 20:04

Thanks tink and ray. Am feeling a lot calmer this evening, had a nice afternoon with the boys.

DS1 has won an award at school for his written work, (he really struggled with it last year and we have been doing a lot of work on it together) so that cheered me up as well.

Desperate to eat 'bad' food now though, am sat on sofa yearning for cake and chocolate and not so much as a refined sugar granule to be found anywhere in the house! Think I may have to bat my eyelids at DH and get him to go to the shop.

Ms Sparkle, I am seriously impressed, I wish I had your energy. I can't fit into the corner I would need to sit in to clean our oven anymore!

fourlittlefeet · 16/10/2008 20:18

Lenni, do breastfeed, I've read loads about it and also fed DD until 16 months. Every day you can do is a bonus and they'll switch to bottles fast enough if they are hungry. You can always cup feed milk if there is a transitional phase where they don't 'get' it (none of my BF friends had any issues with changing/mixed feeding). I also shouldn't worry about it; what will be, will be.

Got bananas with chocolate pieces in silver foil in the oven at the mo as fancied something naughty too!

fourlittlefeet · 16/10/2008 20:44

ooh these bananas are yummy! slit the skins down the middle, 4 pieces choc into the slot, cover with foil and 30 mins in a hot oven. yum yum yum!

MissHairspray · 17/10/2008 10:16

Sorry you are feeling so moosemamma and mssparkle. I can't really provide anything other than lots of sympathy but hope things get easier soon.
I'm starting to worry as everyone keeps saying 'god you are massive, maybe you are going to have a huge baby'. It is really mostly bump and the midwife said yesterday I was spot on for size/dates but it is worrying when I know he has to come out soon! It is also totally getting in the way of everything, I have a new house which is in uproar and so much to do but i'm so knackered and huge that even just the thought of having to walk up the stairs again almost makes me want to cry. I know it will be sorted soon I think I just have this desperate urge to get my cave in order before babs arrives!
Have a good weekend everyone xx

moosemama · 17/10/2008 10:55

Morning

Saw off a packet of maltesers and a bounty last night.
Thanks MissHairspray and tink.

Feeling a bit more positive today but so weary, I totally identify with the feeling like crying at having to go upstairs yet again, in fact I was thinking exactly that not 5 minutes ago when I went to strip the beds.

Went and watched DS1 get his award this morning. He was so keen to get to school that we were the only ones in the playground for quite a while. His teacher said she is really proud of him and he deserves the award as he has worked really hard. (proud Mummy emoticon!)

Not planning on doing much today, its Friday and boys will expect me to have baked, so might chuck some rock buns in the oven later as they are quick and easy.

Ginni · 17/10/2008 21:12

congrats to moosemamma!

i'm doing ok, developing a little waddle now, finding my 1.5hr commute each way a nightmare, can't wait until my maternity leave, although it seems like a lifetime away. Daddy is being so much more helpful now, looks like he's finally coming round to the fact that this isn't going to go away and we are going to have a little girl very very soon. I'm also buying things left right and centre, i've bought far too many 1-3mnth clothes, but lots of lovely stuff, as well as a tummy tub (they look so cute!) and a snuggle nest. Decided i'm going to get an Ambi Nest too, but will have to wait for my next pay cheque - and a Petit Star buggie. I hate being disorgonised and want everything to be in place in case she comes early.

Sorry for the list, i'm tired!

stripeywoollenhat · 18/10/2008 13:30

morning all, hope saturday is proving pleasant and restful all round. i am collapsed on the couch after the very great effort of cleaning the bathroom - i think i will soon have worn a bottom-shaped hollow on this couch, i am spending so much time on it (and getting heavier all of the time). feeling a good deal better, though not actually lively, so i presume the spatone i am grimacing my way through is starting to kick in. the little one has been pretty quiet so far today, so i am hoping for a thorough kicking shortly so that i don't have to start worrying.

this afternoon am going to look at four door cars - our beat-up old ford ka is not going to work with clambering in and out with a car seat. think we are probably going to buy a slightly newer vw polo. we were talking about a new fiat 500 before titch announced her presence... sigh. though of course, i think i will prefer a daughter to a car, really...

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 18/10/2008 13:40

hi ginnii have bought lots of cute clothes too have 2 outfits up 2 9lbs and about 6 up to 11lbs plus sleepsuits and vest, have 3pairs of booties and hats.
we have bought quinny buzz pram, cot and cot matress when i get paid next month going to buy soft activity toys, gym and mobile

good luck with car hunt stripey

rrrayray · 18/10/2008 15:48

morning ladies.

am down in brighton for friends birthday, have been decorating marquee (attached to the side of their house where they have a bar room and a scroll back door... goes over the pool too - going to look amazing tonight with the fountain in the middle going and all the fairy lights!)

Eaten FAR too much of the party food

Got to get into a little dress tonight... luckily somehow the design makes me look barely even pregnant.

hope all feelings ok. x

LenniEd · 18/10/2008 18:56

Rrayray - am very that you could look barely pregnant in something - I meanwhile look ready to pop any day!

Stripey - do you mix the spatone with juice? I mix mine with an inch or so of orange or pineapple juice and swig it down quick and it really doesn't taste too bad esp since I follow it with some nice uncontaminated juice straight after! You can taste the metal though. LOL about your car, think I would prefer a daughter too.

Getting more excited about having a little boy now after the initial shock. Have got a few boy clothes and have started to sort out the nursery. Not too long now!

fymandbean · 18/10/2008 19:02

tink - had a brief worry you'd gone into labour - but it turned out to be someone on the Feb09 thread also called tink.....

Haven't had time to read everything so hope you are all well - will read later tonight.

My DH is being a right PITA at the moment with daft comments like "well if you feel tired f* off to bed" - why haven't I got a DH who sits me down and puts my feet up??

ok have read up the postings a bit! Lenni cold turkey is fine - baby will easily take to a bottle if he/she has to - my DS did it at 6 months - 1 bottle and never looked back - and I'd wanted to mix feed when I went back to work but he wasn't having any of it - bottle gives a quicker feed!!!

stripeywoollenhat · 18/10/2008 19:10

Lenni - yes, i mix it with juice but still find it pretty rank. better than feeling like shit all of the time though...

ray, also at the idea of not looking like a blimp - not that i ever looked particularly svelte, it has to be said...

better go and lay table for dinner guests. hope you are all doing something nice this evening.

fourlittlefeet · 18/10/2008 19:57

evening, also really knackered here. but feeling really well with it iykwim. I think the pregnancy yoga has really helped me loosen up and destress which makes everything that bit easier. Still wanting to crawl into bed as soon as DD goes down each night though .

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 18/10/2008 20:02

nope still looking big havent had it yet fymm nice that ou were concerned

rray same here @ dress i look and feel enormous

missjackson · 18/10/2008 20:04

Hi all, been catching up with all your news.

I'm having a Saturday night in all alone and have finally got around to sorting out my clothes - am packing up 2 big suitcases for the loft, 2 bin bags for oxfam, and a great deal for the bin!

Am soooo tired after 3 nights out in a row - only quiet dinners with friends, but I just can't seem to get comfortable in a chair these days, and have just fallen into bed every night.

The rash has almost completely cleared up - just itchy pock marks over my arms and back, and my tummy is still very itchy - but I can live with that. Now when I wake up in the night scratching, I can just put my cream on and go back to sleep... heaven.

Well, must get on with my clean out - next it's the hundreds of toiletry products I seem to have accumulated!

Hope you all have a good weekend.

LenniEd · 18/10/2008 22:36

MissJackson - that's some serious nesting going on there

Night all

chefswife · 19/10/2008 00:39

hello. been in london for the last two weeks... fab trip. bought some books and a steiff teddy bear for baby. DH got her some clothes in lovely rich colours. we're getting the larger items, (crib, stroller) at the last minute... we are moving in the first weekend december. well, i think i'll just stick to making sandwiches for everyone that will be helping DH to move our stuff. we're shopping for everything for the house right now and it is fun. hope everyone is well... i just can't read all the posts since i was last here... and had a great weekend.

rrrayray · 19/10/2008 10:15

morning ladies.

am relieved to hear it was it wasnt "our" tink that had gone into labour. Your pumpkin needs to stay put for now.

~ Clever bump hiding dress was a godsend for the hoards of skinny women at the party last night. I don't even know how the dress did it, isn't even a maternity one... bloody brilliant. Back to being the pregnant one today.

Anyone think that they look Ten tonne heavier in loose fitting things? My lord in baggy tshirts (often OHs, soooo comfy for around the house) i look MUCH bigger.

Awww for cute books and teddy chefswife. OH also bought our little one a teddy the other day. happily occupying her cot as we speak.

miss jackson- so pleased for you that there is light at the end of the tunnel with the rash. must be massive relief.

Beanie's rocking chair/ glider has arrived whilst been in Brighton. Still in Box... as is part self assembly. Got to go and get some food into the house & then crack on with putting that together....Exciting... watch this space.

Have a lovely lazy relaxing sunday ladies... i've got my trashy TV installment of X factor on sky + to watch later! yay! hope not TOO emmotional - i cry at anything these days!!!!

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 19/10/2008 10:34

stripeywoollenhat · 19/10/2008 11:53

morning all! i think i grew yesterday - bump really ached all day and we had friends round for dinner - by about ten thirty sitting at the table was murder. and now today bending over even less possible and trousers definitely tighter. anybody else have growing days? also, the small one seems very quiet on the days when i have bump ache. it's so weird, being pregnant.

tink, glad it's not you having the early labour. nightmare.

moosemama · 19/10/2008 12:00

Mornin' all.

Ray, we got a glider with DS2, we really loved using it and both boys still love to sit in it and watch cbeebies!

We had it in our bedroom last time, but now the boys have the bigger room there's no space for it in our room, so it's currently in our living room despite the fact it doesn't really 'go'. Wouldn't part with it for the world. (It's also really comfy for sitting and rocking at the end of the pregnancy - feet up, cup of decaff and magazine in hand - luvverly )

MissJ, great to hear your rash is so much better and you can finally get some sleep.

Haven't bought any toys for this little one yet but the boys want to go shopping to choose a bunny for her during half term. Both my boys have a bunny they are particularly attached to so its become a sort of family tradition. They want to wrap her bunny up and give it to her themselves when she's born. (Aaah!)
