charleypops · 21/02/2005 14:46

Hello Nab this is definitely the place to be - this thread's a bit quicker than some of the others, you'll get used to it

What's your due date? do you know what sex it is? Is it your first?

teabelly · 21/02/2005 14:46

...all this kindness to mice reminds me of the time my sister found one in her kitchen. She laid a trap and when she heard it go off she went to investigate. Instead of killing the mouse it had caught it by the hind leg, and said mouse was dragging the trap around the kitchen behind it. Mortified she called the council to come and take it away. When the man arrived she showed him the box she'd put it in...and the man fell about in hysterical laughter almost p*ssing himself...she'd only gone and given it some food, a water bowl and bedding in the box to make the mouse more comfortable...complete with the trap still on it's leg!!!

teabelly · 21/02/2005 14:48

Nab welcome, glad you found us eventually if you get time pop your stats onto the june stats thread...we're very nosy and like to know everything about everybody!!

teabelly · 21/02/2005 14:50

Charley my sister had a couple of rats for a while...george and mildred...but it's the tails I couldn't get used to...thta and the fact that they loved to watch telly sitting on your shoulder...which was ok until they peed...what a smell!!

charleypops · 21/02/2005 14:51

Aw Tea - that' s so sweet (almost - apart from not removing the trap) Did he rescue it or kill it then?

teabelly · 21/02/2005 14:51

oh he killed it...sorry!

katzguk · 21/02/2005 14:51

i hate all things small and hairy!! mice, rats, gerbils, hamsters i can just about cope with guinne pigs and rabbits but any smaller and yuck!!

charleypops · 21/02/2005 14:52

Rats I mean in case anyone's wondering

nab · 21/02/2005 14:54

My due date is 23 June. Just had scan and baby has 2 problems but going for another scan Thursday to have a more thorough look.

nab · 21/02/2005 14:55

Help!! June stats thread? what, how, where? not very up on computer jargon having only ever worked as a nanny and we only got this new computer at Xmas.

welshmum · 21/02/2005 14:55

Re mice. I used to be a more kind and loving person. In uni digs we used to leave bowls of water lying about as traps - hoping they would fall in and swim until the morning when we could set them free. Now I am the avenger NO MOUSE IN MY HOUSE (repeat as necessary) I even disapprove of Angelina Ballerina as a ridiculously romantic portrayal of the evil rodent species.
Hello and welcome Nab - you're caught me at a particular moment of the day........

teabelly · 21/02/2005 14:55

katz we had ginea pigs - saint and greavsie (dh's choice obviously!) very cute...I'd love a cat tho...but dh is allergic...when we first started going out I'd just got a kitten and had to choose between the kitty and new boyfriend...was a difficult choice, he he he...dh thinks I chose him instantly but I gave the kitty to my sister for a few weeks to mind until I'd worked out whether me and new BF were going to last!!

nab · 21/02/2005 14:56

Me again, it is our 3rd baby. We had a miscarriage in August so is my 4th pregnancy. I get pregnant really easily but then tend to have probs along the way.

welshmum · 21/02/2005 14:57

Nab - hope the problems with your baby are not serious and that the next scan is reassuring

nab · 21/02/2005 14:59

To be honest I don't know. They could rsolve themselves in 2-3 weeks or it could mean there is a more serious problem. We will have the baby regardless but want to be prepared too.
