at the mo! i feel that way about most names for now as well. ((still
no name!!)) poor kid! :P

ninja we considered that spelling, but i left it up to DH to
choose. he opted for Fynn. seems to be workin out just dandy ;)

eandz glad its being sorted! better safe than sorry, eh?

alrighty, im off to bed. which really means: i'll lay in bed awake til 2am. again.

((no worries! DH is giving me a mommy day wednesday...which means lay in! plus naps whenever! and wow, just wont know what to do with myself!

Sorry forgot the latest arrivals

OP posts:
lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 05:19

I managed 5 hours sleep with three wee breaks and a couple of unscheduled wake-ups, but i'm wide awake now so there's no point in staying in bed!

I've just eaten a whole pineapple - my tongue is tingling like mad! Are pineapples poisonous or something?!

biglips · 02/09/2008 05:30

lolli - thats what happens when you eat a whole pineapple !!

yes ive been woken up twice by DD sobbing - bad dreams as usual even though she doesnt always remember them but will talk to her when the sun rises up!

Been awake since 4am as my cat woke me up then licking my toe! and ive just had brekkie as had no lunch yesterday due to the EVC yesterday so it had caught up now. Just gonna make myself a cuppa now

Becaroo - Sorry to hear about your LO...I do hope you will get it sorted...quick.

Poxtola - sorry to hear about your dd being taken into hosp...GET WELL soon x

hopefully · 02/09/2008 07:41

I just could not get to sleep yesterday - think it had more to do with not actually doing anything yesterday, and therefore not tiring myself out, than anything pregnancy related, although the baby was throwing itself around a bit as well. Notcitrus think mine must not have read that chapter too! I wondered if it was kicking more etc because it's quite engaged, and therefore has fractionally more room at the top of the uterus...? Probably something entirely different though.

Eandz glad you got some antibiotics! When I was a kid I used to call them anti-bollocks, and it was years before my mother corrected me. Mad woman.

Lollipop I'm laying off the pineapple until next Monday, and then I'll be there to share the tingly tongue (although you may well have popped by then!)

lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 07:49

Hopefully - I bloody hope I have! Not because I'm uncomfortable as I'm not in the least, but because I am BORED!! I am just so bloody bored of thinking about when I'm going to go into labour, it's all I think about and I just want it to happen now!

My tongue has just about stopped tingling - I ate the pineapple over 3 hours ago.
I am getting the odd stomach cramp but I am pretty sure this is a side effect of eating something so ridiculous at such a random hour of the morning!

MelT - Thank you for the link re clary-sage, I am definitely going to get some from Boots today.

ipanemagirl · 02/09/2008 07:52

thanks to the listupdaters, my name is moving up that list in a scary way...

lollipopmother pineapples start to hurt my mouth if I eat a lot, they must have some kind of sharp microfibres or maybe it's the acidity? I'm due in 2 weeks and I'm just waking in the morning and not bothering to go back to bed... too nervous I think.

splishsplosh your hospital sounds great! My hospitals birthing unit is apparently shut a lot of the time owing to staff shortages so my confidence is down about the place.

notcitrus can't believe you've just done a conference! Not long to go now I guess?? I still don't feel ready for this baby to come.... need to do ds's overnight bag and really finish off the hospital bag before I'll whisper to the bump that it can consider launching at it's leisure!

Had a bit or a row last night in bed with dh about how distant he's being emotionally about this baby. He's generally supportive and sometimes very sweet/kind, but sometimes he seems so irritated by the slightest anxiety on my part about the birth etc. I mean it's not like the have to actuallly go through whatever we have to go through is it? I mean they have to deal with the consequences but they don't have to DO it do they??

ninja · 02/09/2008 07:52

biglips, lollipopmother and barnpot I hope that you all manage to get a bit of a rest today.

Hi munkimum I'd noticed you were another Fynn/Finn/Fionn mum - the funny thing is I just went through the nme book and liked it, had no idea it was becoming more popular!! I guess there are jsut sound 'right' at the time!!

hopefully · 02/09/2008 08:29

Lollipop I have just noticed the time of your post. What in the name of arse were you doing up and eating a pineapple at 5am? Did you prepare it the night before especially so you could start pineapple eating at this ungodly hour?

mamamufin · 02/09/2008 08:41

Morning guys. Have a fab day x

jearund · 02/09/2008 08:44

ipanemagirl I think it's precisely BECAUSE they don't have to go through it themselves - they don't understand how it feels. My DH is also very supportive but isn't particularly interested in the details of the pregnancy or feeling the baby kick (although funnily enough my dad loves feeling him kick!). He is just waiting for the birth so that he can join in. Right now he sees it as 'my pregnancy' because it's all happening to me and there's nothing he can do (except support me). So don't feel too bad towards your DH - it's not just him and doesn't have any bearing on what sort of a dad he'll be (my DH is a wonderful dad!)

Well DD has gone off to nursery this morning, just until 1pm, and I've had my breakfast (felt funny not having her begging for bits of my toast) so I'm going to go back to bed for a bit. DH is already asleep as he was on nights last night. Hope I can sleep because she's not usually out in the morning - we've only just started this new session today. Still don't know if they can take her all day when I have the CS as they forgot to phone and tell me but I'll ask when we pick her up later. Have a good morning girls and I'll be back later! (I like this maternity leave - no work!)

LittleConnie · 02/09/2008 08:50

Morning preggos and graduates...
Had the weirdest pregnancy dream last night - I could see entire legs and arms poking out from my belly in a quite alarming way. Baby's squirming must be working it's way into my dreams...

Off to see the mw today... unlike most of you I'm hoping I'm not too close to giving birth as I'm off to a wedding in Scotland this weekend (I'll be 37 weeks). Am planning to keep my legs firmly crossed

potxola I really hope you and Lorea will be home soon... sounds like she's in very good hands. and becaroo thinking of you too...

Lollipop your posts are really making me laugh (sorry)- a whole pineapple at 5am??!! I can understand the frustration but maybe you should make some nice plans to take your mind off speeding this baby up!

Debs75 · 02/09/2008 08:51

Lolli hope you had that pineapple in chunks not whole. Wait till you wee the toilet will smell lovely lol.
Listers someone add me to the list am due 23rd so only 21 days to go
5am this morning i was seriously thinking of getting up, everytime i lay back down into bed bump flops to the side and it is agony, woke back up with pillow under bump and swaddled like a newborn. Was the first time i've been comfy in days tho.
DS just gone to school, he was really happy when the bus picked him up so that's great, just got DD to go on theursday and then 3 weeks of sleeping, God knows I won't get any when baby arrives.

lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 08:53

Hopefully - Well I haven't been sleeping very much these last few weeks, but the last two nights have been ridiculous, last night I got 5hrs kip but during it I had 3 wees and a couple of random wake-ups. I woke up fully at 4am and laid awake for ages before finally giving it up and coming down stairs, so I thought sod it, might as well eat the pineapple!

I'm hungry for cookies now though so I'm going to bake some awesome Nigella cookies, luuuuush!

lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 09:12

LittleConnie - Apparently you have to eat about 8 pineapples for it actually to have any effect, so I thought I had better eat it all in one go otherwise it definitely won't work! To be honest though, I don't think I can cope with the tongue tingling again so not sure I'll be eating another anytime soon! I might get some juice, although I can almost feel myself gagging just thinking about it - pineapple juice is so musty to me!

took my eng ring off yesterday but my wedding ring is starting to look a little tight!! Should have taken it off when my fingers were a little more slender.......

hopefully · 02/09/2008 10:16

Urgh, heartburn of doom has returned for no apparent reason. Thought it was meant to ease in the last week as the baby dropped lower? I feel cheated.

My brother just rang to see how I am, and I nearly died of shock. He maybe calls me once a year, and has called only one other time during my pregnancy to see how I am (he lives abroad). He announced that he's planning on coming to the UK soon after the birth, and will pop in and see us, which is nice. Makes up a bit for not having my sister here (also lives abroad, but further away, and she's poorer!)

ipanemagirl · 02/09/2008 10:38

hopefully that's nice that your b is interested!
my b lives abroad as well but is only interested in his own children! He's only interested in my ds and my bump in a competitive way.
He's ok as a person but lacks some normal emotions.....!
