Congratulations Potxola, I'm glad to hear you're home again and that things are better now you're out of hospital.
Goodluck Debi if it's beginning for you
Who was it who had the funny feelings really low down? I was reading something that said when the baby drops, before the head is engaged, it can sort of bounce on the cervix and give you "shocks" - maybe that's it?
Tmi alert: found some discharge this evening that was sort of jelly like - a bit like snot tbh... could that be the mucus plug??? It wasn't red or anything. If it was I hope that it idn't a sign of things happening - I'm sleeping on a blow up mattress on the landing still, most of the rooms are filled with furniture or our possessions in boxes and bags, and the electrician has gone on holiday for a week with our re-wiring still half done. Not the ideal environment for a baby!
I had my first mw appointment on Friday with this group of mws, called the Ruskin group - when you go into labour you call them and 1 of them (out of a group of 6) comes in to hospital to be with you. It's a bit late to get to meet them all, but it sounds like the way mw should work so you get someone you've met at the birth.
I'm still coughing away, and it's making me vomit in the mornings each day . I'm a bit worried cos the friend I was staying with a few weeks back says she might have whooping cough. So I hope I don't have that too, as presumably that would be dangerous to newborn. Anyone know anything about it?
